  1. Oh, and does paraffin burn faster or slower than 100% soy typically?
  2. I tested my odd shaped container candle. It burned quite well actually triple wicked, nearly getting a full burn pool. But, looking at it, I know if I put in four wicks I can get the whole thing to melt evenly. Is there such thing as too many wicks? I know it will burn faster, but wouldn't a faster yet even burn be preferred?
  3. The "Really nice box" seems hardest for me to find! I found a ton of compnaies who'll do custom boxes for me with any color and design, but I wanted a more unique box like fabric, round, lidded, something extra, you know? I can't seem to figure out how to locate a company for that! Any ideas are much appreciated!
  4. Anybody ever come across any unique container sites? I'm looking for something a little different, upscale, with lids. And easy to wick (for those who read my last thread fiasco, lol!) Thanks!
  5. Hi all, I got a heatgun and zapped my three candles and they look great now! All that's left is to let them cure then do the test burns!!! I hope I wicked at least one correctly, lol! Thanks for all the tips!
  6. Thanks everyone, looks like I picked a killer first shape to start with! I have no idea if my wicks will work, I guess only time will tell after they cure and I test! I don't have a heat gun but I'll definitely get one! Any ideas about the air bubbles as well?
  7. Okay, blower was a bad idea, didn't help. So what now? my two layers look good and are stocking to the glass container well, but the top looks all lumped and textured, not smooth at all! I did a repour on the top and it didn't help.
  8. Hi Everyone, I'm using Cargill C-3 100% container wax. I just made a new one waiting to pour when slushy and it worked great!!! I am making layers, pouring one waiting till it cools fully then adding the second layer. So far so good on my slushy poured one, however I am getting a little funky top, but hopefully the blower will take care of that at the end. How long to cure before I test these?
  9. I'm making my first candles (I did take a calss first but they didn't cover much). I am using a star shaped container and after I poured my first layer, the soy cooled and pulled away from the star's points. So, should I have heated the container? Should I have heated the outside of the container after I poured the soy in, and if so, right away or wait until it cools? Edited to add, could I be pouring at too high a temperature? My melt point is 120 and I'm pouring at about 140
  10. Anyone use this to make perfume? If so, how do you get it to merge with your FO? I'm getting an odd "oil and water" effect where it is staying separate!
  11. Want to find an organic carrier oil. Any great places to check?
  12. I have made wax melts a ton of times using dye blocks and adding only a little to make pastel shades. Great scents and throws. Today I made more tarts using the same wax, some of the same fragrance oils, but I used tons more of my dye block to get intense color shades. I noticed on the cold sniff, my scents smelled lighter. Can dye blocks ever affect scents? Or am I nuts and doing something different now . . .
  13. They aren't for burning, just for display. I need them display ready by weds. They won't be burned, just need to look pretty! My normal store is closed right now and won't reopen till Tues which isn't enough time.

I'm new to Etsy so I'd love to know any tips or tricks to getting noticed on Etsy and maintaining a good page! Also, anyone else here have Etsy pages? I'd love to link up as "favorites" to your page and vice versa!
