  1. I found a perfect box at papermart but they no longer carry it, has anyone seen this box anywhere else? http://www.papermart.com/templates/88-0-10.htm I need the 450 "Pearl" pattern in the 3 1/2 by 5". It matches my other box, I'm desperate to find it and they said they don't stock it anymore and can't special order it!
  2. Anybody use their version? Any good? Anone know any West Coast CA suppliers with FCO?
  3. Thank to your recs, I ordered some samples and adored them! I'm think I'm going to have Lindsay make me a custom base, but I wanted your opinions on some of the 'must have' ingredients! I'm eyeing so many, I need to try and narrow down a formula! Any of you mind sharing your favorites or base recipes you have tried? Any suggestions appreciated! Also, what ingredients do you think makes the FO last longest on your skin?
  4. I'm looking for clear or white 4oz jars with gold lids.
  5. I'd love to find a paraben free, mineral oil free, natural lotion/cream base. Any major suppliers for this? I've searched and searched but so many just use other chemicals instead of parabens. I ordered a few samples, Like Docs Hill. My best goal would be finding a crafter who'd like to create a base for me and supply me wholesale. I'd rather pay one of our great crafters for a custom unique base (I don't have the space or time to make one myself). Where is a good classified pages for crafters I can go looking for someone who wants to wholesale custom bases?
  6. Okay, so I'm trying to get the hang of this "liquid oz vs weight oz!" I have a small "Axe My Weigh" scale, it does grams and oz. So if I need to measure my FO's, can I just measure by oz weight? Zero the scale out with a little cup and then add the oil till I hot the oz I need? Is that accurate? What difference does it make if I measured by grams? The scale is very sensitive, 0.000. Thanks!!!
  7. Heehee, I haven't officially decided to give into the crave to start making candles, but it sounds so fun! What type of wax do you typically use Susan? I'm used to soy right now. Let's keep in touch as we experiment with these containers! I think I'll bring one into Genwax and ask them what they suggest too!
  8. Thanks for explaining that Susan! Huh, interesting, I guess because I'm not a big candle burner myself I never though about all the wax needing to melt. I assumed it would just melt in a circle down the center, leaving the star points full of wax. It would be better to all melt though. So is that how it typically works? you start with one type of wick and work your way up until you find one that melts it all? Would that then change each time I used a different FO?
  9. I make soy wax melters already, now I want to move into container candles. I'm debating soy or a different wax blend. Pros and cons? Best scent throw? Also my container has no lid, so it'd be open all the time, is soy or wax blend more stable? I's be buying wax at genwax by the way.
  10. Thanks again all! Curious, why do you think the star candles are a pain to wick? I'm new to candle making, this would be the first candles I made. Why are they tougher? I also buy wax from genwax (I currently make wax melters) is there a genwax wax/wick you'd recommend? appreciate it!
  11. Thanks all! That so helps! Any local places you tend to go/call to look for candle glass containers? I'll check my local 99 cent store too.
  12. Woohoooo! You rock! Now to find out how much those are! Keep the recs coming, thanks guys! I'd love to find more to compare!
  13. I'm looking for a glass container, not too huge, but star shaped, to pour candles into. Doesn't need a lid! Any ideas? I'm googled out! Thanks!
  14. I have so many extra oils, thought I'd try to make myself some soy tarts for fun to give to my family and such! Here's what I did, can I get any better tips or methods you pros use? Melted 4oz (by weight) naturewax V1 soy flakes in micro (about 4 minutes) in 1cup pyrex. When melted, I added 7.5ml fragrance oil (soy safe) I poured into little 1oz condiment cups (made 6 and a little extra) Now I'm letting them cool on my counter. Do tarts need to cure a few days before melting? Should I have added more/less fo? Should I add FO's when wax starts cooling/thickening or when freshly melted? Can I stick the liquid molds into the freezer to have them set up faster? Will these pop out of molds? Id not, any additive to make them pop out? THANKS!
