  1. Oh, I don't mean for soap, for a butter, oil, beeswax style bar. Or did you mean I can add clay to that?
  2. I'm sick of my typical shave creams that I use up so fast. I was inspired by those weird razors with the big soap/shave head around them. Any recipe that I can use? My normal lotion bar recipe is too firm and not quite enough slip.
  3. Not to sell, but to make for myself, I need sachets to throw in my gym bag, sock drawer, etc. I have tons of oils, but no clue what I can stuff in these little tulle baggies I have. No potpourri or aromabeads on hand, anything else I can use? I was thinking of scenting paper towels and stuffing them in the baggies. Any better ideas? Would raw oatmeal work?
  4. I'd love to use some of my coffee butter and green tea butters in a lotion bar recipe. They are extracts in hydrogenated veggie oil bases, I was thinking of mixing it with shea, cocoa and beeswax, but how would I figure out the proportions? Would I need any additional carrier oils? Is beeswax needed, or just cocoa? The hydrogenated veggie oil throws me . . . Any ideas before I start testing?
  5. Definitely not Aromahaven's . .it smells like cereal
  6. I see it a lot, but the few samples I've tried were just eh. Any recs?
  7. They seem to all be the same . . . All three always have the exact same sales and merchandise. I ordered from CI and got a confirmation notice from Brighter Scents. Huh? Why order from one or the other?
  8. Thanks, looking for good almond cakes!
  9. Sort of sounds like a generic apple pie FO to me written up nicely. Most apple pie scents are apples, cinnamon, baking spice, pie crust anyway.
  10. I got a sniffie from a friend, I know I smelled it before from some company, can't remember the scent name or company but . . . Foody, smells like cream cheese, red velvet cakey, cinnamon cake, maybe a little almond, poundcake . . .all mixed together I just know I've smelled this before! Any ideas?
  11. Island girl, what about a site that takes you to paypal, but you don't need a paypal account and you can enter your credit card in, but paypal is the host?
  12. I currently use Paypal Payments Pro, but I get charged $30 a month and 2.2+ interest. Are there any better options out there that also let you take credit cards directly? I was thinking of switching to paypal standard, but then they need to go through paypal to use credit cards, which I'm worried will turn some people off.
  13. My sister makes jewelry and is always jealous of how many great beauty and craft blogs I'm a part of. Can anyone recommend some great jewelry related blogs/forums/etc for her? Thanks!
  14. eeeeeeeeewwwwwwwww. Sigh, why do I even bother with non-indie soap products? Here is a link to the product: http://www.herbalremedies.com/creamofcocha.html And what they list as the ingredients are NOT what the actual product label says. Neither of those ingreds the site say are on the label. I need to go shop some of the craftserver member's pages for good soap!
  15. Just an oil, sodium hydroxide, that weird hyposulfite sodium, and petitgrain. Feels really creamy.
  16. I bought a nice soap, it only has four ingredients listed, one is "Hyposulfite of Sodium" what is this exactly? A chemical? What is it used for? Thanks!
  17. Yeah, the thumbprint dyed fushia bangs - very attractive, lol! I haven't tried anything tough on the hair yet, I don't think I have mineral oil, but will look around. I can try a stripper on my hair if nothing else works. Course, my pretty highlights will go then too, lol. I can just see my hair stylists face if I walked in like this!
  18. Lol, this is gonna be a funny experiment! I do have Goo Gone, but since that stuff smells rancid, I'll try the fo first!
  19. I seemed not to notice a big glop of red candle dye got on my hand and then I rubbed my hair. Ack, now I have a red splotch in my bangs and all over my hand. Soap and shampoo and scrubs have not helped! I can't be the only one to have ever done this, lol . . . .
  20. I got some lavender butter from the co-op, was wondering if I can use it on my face? I was going to cut it with some shea. It has hydrogentated oil as the base with lavender extract. I'm wondering how comedogenic is that?
  21. I'm cutting a butter base with a lotion base from a company, but how do I merge their ingredients correctly? I'm doing a 50-50 blend.
