    Lots of labelling and packaging. 2 weeks till my first craft fair freaking out. Not sure I'll be taking enough stock, but its only on for 4hours. I'm also doing an inventory of it all this weekend. Then more pillars, maybe a couple of dipped bears if I get round to it. BUt daughters 4th birthday on Sunday so most of then will be out the window

    is it pillar or container blend paraffin? the top sounds like it needs a repour the pouring temp should be on the wax instructions that seems an awful lot of fo for paraffin, I use just under 1oz to 1lb wax I'd have a good search through all the threads on here for info

    I decided to try some layered rustics, can do rustic but layers never worked. Scented Candied Blueberries. Liked them that much I made two more. Then I tried a plain rustic in Cafe Mocha

    Must be the day for it! Just turned the gas burner on, turned my back a second to get the pot of wax, and when I turned back, there were flames everywhere. I'd left some kitchen roll I'd used, too close to the burner and it had caught!! whoosh, right up the side of my microwave, luckily I had a large metal pan in front of it that stopped it getting to the microwave or wall. I grabbed a teatowel, stopped! ran and wet it thru and put it out. No damage except 1 plastic chopstick Hubby getting a fire extinguisher from work tomorrow. Could have been worse.

    sorry, meant 1% vybar, (was in a hurry typing), only 10oz of wax and 0.1oz of vybar. It's all the fo I had left in the raspberry. The only additives I have are micro wax (hard and soft) UV inhibitor, vybar and stearin.

    I am using some sun ripened raspberry fo, and it just won't mix in the wax. I've added 10% vybar to see if that will help, but its still sitting on the top in the jug. Can I add more vybar? Is there anything I can do? Its to go into a silicone mold for raspberries for a pie. thanks

    ooh thanks, thats the stuff. I just checked the postage to UK on there though, and its coming out at $74 !! only for 16oz lol, think the weight must be wrong. I'll email.

    had a search and its diamond dust (well what I've seen on the pillars is) the bakery pies still looks finer like icing sugar. Going to check if I can find diamond dust in the UK, never looked for it before so unsure if we have it. Will try my big hobbycraft store tomorrow. If not, I'll have to check postage from US. Forhisglory, what do you mean by sugar sprinkles? do you mean the tiny coloured oblong bits you put on cupcakes? thanks x

    I've seen bakery candles with what looks like real icing sugar dusted on them. Can you use real sugar? I've also seen some that seem to have sugar crystals on too. Is there some kind of wax that creates this dusting effect or is it the real deal?

    aah no probs Anjie I'll ask on general if anyone knows if can use polycarbonate. I didnt' like the look of the votive as the votive was shorter than the holder, but I suppose I could pour a candle straight into the holder, make it the same level

    aah, no lx wicks, so I'd only want 10 of these glass tealight holders, so can't justify the £3.50 plus £5.99 postage. Anyone know if you can use polycarbonate tealight holders (although I need to get more of those too) God I hate pouring tealights, fiddly little blighters they are

    so......today I can smell a little better, I can smell the pie crust I'm making. However, yesterdays mix smells of complete nothingness lol. Is it poss to put too much fo in? no can't be, what a daft question. Every time I added more wax, I added the correct amount of fo. Strange, will have another sniff in a day or so

    Anjie, those are stunning. I can rustic but can't tilt lol. Can I ask where you get glass tealight cups from? I've never seen them. I made one with the votive glass before, but that was plain colour.

    I'm making pillars for the craft show I have booked. Made quite a few 3x3.5" tall ones, (fine with the lx 6" wicks), however, now I've come to make some 6.5 x 2 and 6.5 x 3, that size pretabbed wick doesn't seem very common in the UK. Are they a popular size in the US? I know you can just about anything from the US, but it seems strange they aren't as per the norm in the UK. I have found some, but only at one supplier, and he's not the one I usually use, I'd rather stay with who I know. Just seemed weird lol

    thanks for your reply shelley. Never thought about plastic, thought the wax would be too hot, I suppose a plastic bucket would do then. What temp do you dip him at, if you don't mind me asking? Great idea with the doilies, thanks xx btw, we have things over here, called Pound shops. You can get some good bargains, but I've never found much candle related, but guess where I'm going Monday hehe

    The time has come to give it a go. Got myself a couple of beautiful bears, with bows on and a lovely heart detail. My main question, do you have to completely dip them, or could I dip half and turn it upside down and dip the other half? I haven't got anything deep enough thats also wide enough for them. What % fo do you use? I'm assuming I'll need a couple of pounds of wax at least. I think at the moment, I'll probably dry one in Clean Cotton. I've been looking for a nice round basket to sit him in to package him, but haven't found one yet. Any other tips? thanks xx

    I thought the pine in christmas wreath would mix with the bayberry as it has pine and berries in. i keep getting a faint whiff of toilet cleaner rofl. I have a tiny bit of cinnamon left, maybe 0.5oz but its VERY strong........ can I really have bayberry, vanilla, christmas wreath AND cinnamon all in the same mix? ooh the thought

    jeez, gonna need loads of wax, these cones are so long. I have some Christmas Wreath too, which has piney notes I believe. My problem is I have a stinking cold, and can't smell anything So........ maybe bayberry, vanilla and christmas wreath?
