  1. I haven't, but am very small-time (I only do melts) and have a decent amount of wax right now. My supplier has not informed me of any impending increase, but I'll probably stock up again soon just in case and ask when I go. I'm considering raising very slightly just before Spring, but am changing my packaging as well; I'll be profiting the same as now, but hopefully customers see the new packaging as worth it. We'll see..
  2. I have a Cricut and absolutely love it! Bought it when Michael had the whole kit (extra mats & blades, paper, & tools) on sale, but I can't remember what I paid. A friend recently pointed me in the direction of Custom Crops and they're definitely I've ever seen the cartridges anywhere, $40-60 for most. Haven't personally ordered from them yet, but my friend has and didn't have anything bad to say. Otherwise, I just keep an eye out for when Michaels marks them down a bit and just buy then; Don't really have the time to shop around for a better price than that.
  3. I use V-1. Eek, that has the potential to be so messy and/or dangerous.
  4. http://www.sunshinecontainer.com/ ^They have acetate votive and tealight boxes. HTH! :smiley2:
  5. Mine is in my signature (image is clickable). :smiley2:
  6. The only one of those I've tried is Hot Orange Danish and I love it. :smiley2:
  7. It is a bit late, but I'm pretty certain I made a post the other day asking if anyone had any experience with sending product samples to The Little Black Boxes. I came back today to read any responses but I can't seem to find it. I searched my own username and don't see it, though I'm quite conifident I don't daydream about posting here. Was it deleted? If so, why? I was just looking to hear some firsthand experience with them, as it seems quite legitimate and not a scam. TIA.
  8. Ugh, I have this exact same problem with 1.67" labels, in addition to all the aforementioned ones, ha. I use Label Factory Deluxe (which is built on the Avery Design Pro) and eventually made my own custom label setting and it's a little better, but label printing is still quite the hair-pulling experience.
  9. Ahh, okay, that's definitely not right. Thanks for the reply, I'm always intrigued by legal entanglements over products.
  10. I'm just curious, how were you able to serve her a C&D? Do you have Potato Bag trademarked? I ask because I've seen the same term for this kind of product on other sites (tutorials, as well as selling them).
  11. MMS has them, just scroll past the droppers. I've seen them elsewhere, too, but can't think of where at the moment.
  12. I'm the exact same way. Just wiping them out, I can still smell the FO pretty strong and the thoughts of mingled scents..ehh, especially because right now I only do tarts & small-ish batches. I don't think it makes things any harder for me, though. LOL, no such thought here.
  13. Just to update everyone on the fate of Julie Hoffman, the woman who counterfeited in excess of $250,000 in postage, she was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison.
  14. ^Yes, they do, but the new change is not only for odd-shaped items. The new system, Shape Based Pricing, will take the weight & dimensions of all types of packages into account. Here's some useful info: PDF of Rates & Fees / FAQs / In-Depth PDF about the changes Random things: +For example, in First-Class Mail, a 2-ounce letter will cost $0.58; a 2-ounce flat, $0.97; and a 2-ounce parcel, $1.30. +Letters can now only go up to 3.5oz. Heavier and they will be charged the flats (large envelopes) rate. +Priority Flat-Rates: Envelopes - $4.50 Boxes - $9.15 +First Class: The first ounce increases to $0.41, but the additional ounces decrease to $0.17.
  15. Oh my goodness...I just noticed this thread! I use the diamond chips, pretty bummed I have to explore new avenues. Going to be stocking up on these for now, though. ' What a terrible way to end your business, though. :undecided
  16. Ooh, glad to hear good things about NG, I just ordered their Lily & Downy along with my regulars. Definitely going to try Old Mill for the OM&H and Snowtops, too. Thanks a lot, everyone.
  17. Just wanted to say another big "Thanks!" to the EBC recommendation! I got the base yesterday and I love it, better than quite a few others I've tried. Definitely going to order some samples on her other products now.
  18. I'm in search of a really great Lily of the Valley and Downy Lavender & Vanilla (to use in soy wax). Does anyone have any Yays or Nays on any suppliers? Also hunting for a great Oatmeal, Milk, & Honey for use in B&B. Thought I'd look here and save myself ordering from umpteen places when I can get advice on the best ones, and just order samples from those places. TIA! -angie
  19. Her sentencing was actually rescheduled to the 20th (I kept myself on her Yahoo! group to keep abreast of things). I think she's only shipping certain things for free now...? Sorry to get a little OT, but I used to order from her a lot, though after finding out about this, it completely soured things. :undecided I've done my share of shipping and respect the postal system and wouldn't dream of ripping them off. It's not right and it only ups prices for everyone in the long-run.
  20. Ahh, EBC is in Corona, that's really close. I'm going to go ahead and order from them. Thanks a ton everyone! <3
  21. Hey, I'm looking for a supplier on the West Coast (or relatively close) who carries a shower gel base. An oppurtunity sprung itself on me, so I'll need to get some shower gel base from someone other than my normal supplier, and quick, but I'd rather avoid the exorbitant shipping from the East. I know of MMS and am wondering if there are others. Thanks *so* much in advance! {Also, anyone have any experience with the MMS shower gel base? If there's nowhere closer than Utah, I'll probably go with them. }
  22. Has anyone ordered from them? I just requested a catalog, but I'm curious how big of a tart they'd hold. Also, I see the prices on their retail site are fairly ridiculous ($24 for many of the resin diffusers!), so it seems wholesale wouldn't be too much better. ETA: CathyinME, it looks like all the resin ones are tealight.
  23. I kinda like it and "get" it ('wicked' meaning 'awesome), but I'm young. I'd imagine quite a few people over 30 (maybe even younger) wouldn't immediately remember 80s/90s youth slang and might be put off by it. Of course, you could be in that age category and still like it, but I think you have to get out of yourself and think how most people might perceive it. Would their interested be piqued enough to go to your site/store or would Totally Wicked sound so bad they wouldn't even continue to read your print ad/etc? All of this is really dependent on what kinds of things you're selling and what your target market it, but still good things to think about.
  24. I can tell you to NOT use Label Factory Deluxe! I can't print an entire sheet of labels because, despite proper calibrations, only 1 or 2 lines will actually be on the labels. I'm doing mine line-by-line...frustrating & time-consuming! I'm going to look into that Design Pro, as well. Thanks for the recommendation, diamondk. :smiley2:
  25. After some intense IE History searching I finally found the site; It wasn't WSP, it was Rustic Escentuals. D'oh! I think I might have spent a bit too much time on the computer that night. ;P Thanks again for the help, though! I appreciate it.
