  1. I made 3 batches of tarts with the Candle Source wax yesterday...using it for the first time. I like 'em strong, so I maxed out the scent at 8.5%. To make it easier, I just added an oz of FO (Peak White Tea & Ginger, CSource Granny's Zucchini Bread, and CSource J&J Bedtime Bath) to 12 oz of wax. I liked working with the wax, but it was kinda hard to get the tarts out of the molds. Maybe they needed to sit for longer...I don't know. I was able to get a few clamshells and several tarts out of each batch. They seem to have good cold throw. Will wait probably at least a week or so before I test them.

I'm itchin' to make the Black Magic now that I have a sample of that to use up. lol

Oh, and don't get me started on the WF FO. Just get one of each! Fireside Inn is one of my all-time favorites! Also love her Cactus Lime Sugar, Spiced Cranberry, Vanilla Romance, Pumpkin Pie Spice, and Tin Star.

  2. Nmhoneybear, there is not a hint of pine in Winter Night; it vaguely reminds me of Celtic Moonspice from AH.

Just sent a response to your PM. :smiley2:

You're going to love Peak's White Tea & Ginger in the Candle Source wax; one of my best sellers!

    Thanks, Ravens. Got it! :)

Mmmm! I love Celtic Moonspice. Think I may pour some tarts in that today as well. I am going to be a tart-pourin' fool today! lol

Me thinks I should have ordered more than one slab of that wax...:rolleyes2

  3. If you have Peak's White tea&ginger, you've GOT to try it in this wax. A lady I know called me yesterday and she said she wants 3 pounds of White tea & ginger tarts!

Back to the Candle Source wax...This afternoon I had Winter Night melting; it's such a wonderful fragrance, I think it's perfect for Fall, not just the Winter season... It scented my whole house just great!

Well, better not start my usual babbling; good luck with your new wax and keep us posted :smiley2:

I found a sample of Peak's White Tea & Ginger in my drawer. Yay! That will be my first batch of tarts with the CandleSource wax. Wish I could find the Winter Night on Day-Star's site, though. :( You've got me intrigued! I will have to keep checking back. I'm curious what's in it. If you're liking it now, I'm suspecting it is not a piney scent. Guess I'll just have to keep my eye out for it...

  4. I've been using KY tart wax and I guess I need to up the FO as I'm not impressed with 1 oz. pp. I also tried to order some of candlesource wax (pillar/votive) and they are out for another 2-3 weeks.

They said I could use their container blend for tarts....?? Is that so?

    Pls. Advise,

    Thanks!

    Carrie

Carrie, I called Candle Source before I placed my order last week and they said it was the container blend that they use for tarts.

  5. I have tried KY parasoy for tarts, still have quite a bit of it left. Tried using 1oz, 1.5 and 2oz. per pound. I just am not crazy about the performance of this wax.

The throw was alright, but the scent didn't seem to last very long at all.

    I no longer use it.

My Candle Source tart wax should be here in the next day or so. :cheesy2:

  6. Great prices, fast shipping.

    bs fantasy

One I want to get is the peach cider fo. Man I can't even remember the whole name.

There are alot more I just can't remember them.

You can also do a search on here & get alot more info on the candlesource.

Darn! Now I'm wishing I had gotten a sample of the Apples & Evergreen. I just placed an order the other day and opted out on that one. :( I did get the Pumpkin Carrot Struesal and Fantasy. And I second the Pumpkin Vanilla and Cinnamon & Sandalwood. Both are awesome. I have to say that the Pumpkin Vanilla is one of my favorite pumpkins (and I have tried a bunch).

  7. Throws beautifully with most FO. Only "bad" thing about it is that I cannot find it anywhere else, and Oregon is a long way from Texas, LOL HTH

I noticed that they have a new place in Oregon, too. Haven't ordered from them in a long time, but just placed an order the other day to try that tart wax. I was hoping maybe they would ship from there instead of Ohio. I am in New Mexico, so it would be closer. Guess I should have asked when I called about the wax. :rolleyes2 The woman who answered didn't seem very friendly at all, though, and seemed bothered by my call. She was short with me and grumpy. :( Oh well, maybe she was just having a bad day. Don't know who she was, but I have called there before and spoke to Loren. He was really nice. Nevertheless, I am excited to try that wax! :)

  8. Okay, I just ordered a slab of the container wax from Candle Source for making tarts. I called and asked them which wax they used for their tarts since I could not find it stated anywhere on their site. I wanted to make sure that I got the right one! Someone said on this thread that they used the pillar & votive wax for tarts, but I wanted to double check. I will post my results after I test this wax out! :)
