  1. I'll be your new tester, RetroMetroChic. ;)

I, too, use this wax. Love it! Last time I ordered it, seems it was out of stock, though it didn't say so on the site. She e-mailed me about it and said it wouldn't be in until later in the week. Come to think of it, I did wait longer for it than I should have. I even almost e-mailed her to find out what was up. When I finally got it, I didn't notice any difference. Love the granules and the smell of it even before I put any FO in it! I have heard of another wax that is good for tarts...CBL129 is coming to mind, but I could be completely off base. Also, I have heard Candle Source's tart wax is phenomenal. Maybe I'll give that a try one of these days.

Thanks for the info on the Just Scent wax

I'm ordering soon and will order a bit to test it out.

No its not on the site, I think its something new she got in or something.

I did ask myself the same question though too why doesn't she sell this one LOL

I felt like she was just trying to help though offering this wax since I was going to have to wait a long while for the other one.

It seems she is having trouble with this supplier so it could be the company you mentioned above who knows. I just hope she gets it worked out.

I've never had trouble with KY in the past and truely always felt Ky to be one of those suppliers you feel good about ordering from.

But I am keen to try other things now, I just need to find a tester other than myself because I always have candle nose it seems, I'm either making B&B or tarts everyday.

If anyone has other recs besides Just Scents blend please let me know PM is fine..

  2. Honestly I think you explained it pretty well. I never smelled it before and it's very pleasant to me. Your right though it's not as good as patch though. I really like the dragon's blood, but of course it has patch in it lol.

Of course all the samples I ordered are making my allergies go nuts so I can't play poo!

You poor thing, Jen! :( I don't know what I would do if sniffing FO made me sneeze and stuff. UGH! I'll sniff for ya. ;)

My order should be here today. Yay!

  3. Have never made CP soap (but plan to after the holidays), but Oregon Trail has a wonderful soap safe pumpkin pie that is very nice and spicy in candles. I plan on putting it in my M&P soap soon. And, it's on sale right now.

Yes, the Ol' South Pumpkin Pie is awesome in candles! One of the best pumpkin pie scents out there. IMO :)

  4. I wouldn't pour the palm in the clamshells. I think it would definitely be too hot and cause the clamshells to melt a little. I use the KY Parasoy and have to wait til my wax cools to 155-160 before I pour or else the bottom of the clamshells starts to distort a bit.

Just get a sample of every FO from KY. They are all awesome!

My faves are: Caramel Pecan, Roasted Coffee, Vanilla Butter Fudge, Zucchini Bread, Grandmother's Toddy, Santa's Whiskers, Vanilla Lime, Pink Sugar Cookie, Snuggle Baby, Country Gift Shoppe...I could go on and on...lol

    Have fun shopping! :)

  5. I am intrigued by a description of this Pumpkin Pie from another thread. Here it is:

I have the Pumpkin Pie from J&L. It smells dead on like a pumpkin pie...at first! Then you get the delightful notes that make my house smell like a Dunkin' Donuts franchise when I burn it! It is the best...I can't describe it other than that "donut shop" scent in the Fall, when they pour the pumpkin and cider donuts. My kid came over from Dad's, walked in the room I test, walked out and asked where I was hiding the doughnuts. Call Lorrie at J & L...she's got the good stuff!

So...I want to get it, but wondering what else is good. Can't just order one! lol

  6. :laugh2:This one cracks me up. I have the Pumpkin Pie from J&L. It smells dead on like a pumpkin pie...at first! LOL

Well, if that ain't enough to make you wanna order that Pumpkin Pie, I don't know what is. I'm off to see what else she's got... lol

  7. Update I finaly ordered some, and it is sooooo sophisticated. I think it kinda smells like a fancy Boutique at Christmas...lol yeah, I have an imagination alright! Love it! Thanks for your help!

    Lol

Yep, sophisticated is a good word to describe it. There is nothing else out there that even comes close. Just love it! Glad you do too. :)

  8. i have only the pump-fudge from keystone. it smells a lot like c science pumpkin souffle. if you're looking for a hint of choc. it is not in it.

    hth-kris

Funny how noses are so different. :) I have both Pumpkin Fudge from Keystone and Pumpkin Souffle from CS and to me, they don't smell alike at all. The Pumpkin Souffle has a sort of "twang" to it. lol And the Pumpkin Fudge is just smooth all the way around.

  9. Haha I can see your dilemma. I have had all of those that you have listed and they are all good. If it helps you to decide, I am thinking that CS might be having a sampler sale coming up. They have just introduced several new FO and usually run a .99 sample sale soon thereafter.

  10. I was looking at the tarts, though, and you are calling them soy tarts. They look like palm wax to me. I tried out a palm wax a couple of years ago and my tarts came out looking exactly like that...a nice feather palm. Is it a blend of soy and palm? You might want to be a bit more specific in your description of them.

    Nice website overall. :)

  11. Holy Cow! Prices like that for FO are downright outrageous! That guy is just someone selling incense and oils for warmers that decided to try and get into the candle and soapmaking end of the business. There are SO many good suppliers for FO that don't even come close to charging prices like that. I would never order anything from him.

JMO...and I'm not even in PMS mode. lol

  12. Backwoods has three good ones: Chocolate Turtle Cheesecake, Pink Chocolate, and Tin Roof Sundae. Candlescience has several, too: Chocolate Milk, Chocolate Chip Cookie, Chocolate Fudge, and Chocolate Biscotti. I am really liking Chocolate Suede from Candle Cocoon the best though. It is so unique! Oh, and NG has Chocolate Amber. Love that one. :)

  13. Do you get the crock pot style warmers from Candlewarmers.com? Also, does it come with a glass to put the votive in? I thought I read somewhere that it does, but it doesn't state so on their website. TIA

I also like to purchase plain white tart burners, I found a small embossed tart warmer that only holds one clamshell cube but like someone else said, the scent throw is great. I bought a case of clear glass warmers from the corning ny factory store, they sold out fast...The clear glass ones are hard to find (unless somewhere here on the boards knows a good place to find them). I took an art class @ Michaels a couple of years ago and started painting the clear glass warmers. I just finished the case of them. I did my office in a polka dot style and painted polka dots on the warmers. The hands down best warmer I have personally used is a crock pot style warmer. It holds a lot of wax and heats up to a pretty hot heat. Many times I pour wick less votives to put in that warmer.
