What does twisting the wick do? First time Ive ever heard of that!

Sometimes the wicks curl down to one side and cause a lopsided burn. If you twist the wick, the wick slowly uncurls as it burns and burns evenly all the way down.

I use EZ Soy and have had a lot of success using a CD-14 with most scents in this jar. I twist my wicks (a trick I learned on this forum) and that seems to help. I have very little to no hangup. HTH.

Kind of like the question, which is heavier, a pound of feathers or a pound of bricks. Don't feel bad ... I know I asked that question before myself!

I'm hosting my first ever open house this Sunday and will be doing the big local craft fair Nov. 11 and 12. I've had a lot of interest from co-workers this year and am hoping for a good turnout at the open house. I'm anxious to see how it goes. I'll post pics and results when it's over. Wish me luck!

I already had a heat gun from Stampin' Up that I use to emboss cards. I use it to smooth tops of candles and for shrink wrapping as well. It only has two settings ... "on" and "off" ... but it does the job just fine!

I use my Stampin' Up embossing gun. Works like a charm.

Tart maker here, too. I make the fluted kind as well. I love making them. If they get stuck in the mold, stick them in the freezer for a bit and they will pop right out.

I got them through a co-op here on the board a few months back (if I remember correctly, they came from www.kennedyscountry.com). They hold 20 oz. of wax. I really like them, too.

I understand. What about tacky glue? I think that's good for fabric.

I just tie the ribbon to the neck of the jar. I recommend that the customer remove it before burning.

I usually keep my sisters supplied in candles for free, as they are my testers (and not afraid to tell me if something sucks). I sell to friends at retail price.

Next time you receive a personal check, you'd be better off waiting until the check clears the bank before you write out any checks against it. I had this happen to me ONCE (and the check was from my sister-in-law) and it will never happen to me again!

I dug out some of my banana nut bread and sweet pumpkin spice candles last night and they were full of frosting. LynneS, you are right, it occurs for me more often than not on my brown or dark colored candles (well, it's actually much more visible on them). Some of the BNB candles were frosted pretty bad so I am going to sell them as "fugly" candles at my open house and knock the price down a little bit on them. Yep, frosting bugs the hell out of me, too.
