  1. I think she meant Vybar 103. You can get it anywhere.

Vybar 343 is a stearic substitute for mottled paraffin candles.

Nope, it is the 343 . The 103 will kill the crystal/feather look and the 343 doesn't. It also works well for the mottled waxes so they can hold more fo without losing the mottle. I get it at "Candlewic"

Okay, looks like it's already been answered.

  2. I had ordered several molds without any problems until last Oct. I ordered 5 of the 2 piece plastic candle molds for a Christmas order. After 2 months and numerous e-mails I finally got the molds and none of them lined up together!

What a PITA. I had to cross them off my supplier list which is a shame because they do have some cool looking molds.

  3. I have only used the FBB from "The Chemistry Store" and the first time I used it I had followed the instructions of adding 2 oz of sweet almond oil per lb. and I found it to be very drying. In playing around to come up with a good scrub for my 2 teens I added aloe juice, emu and olive squalene oil with some eo's and jojoba beads and ground aprocot seeds. I use it and one of the things I really like about it is that your face feels very clean and not the slighest bit dry. ( I have very dry skin ) So I think it's probably a trial and error thing to add the right ingredients at the right amount so that it doesn't dry your skin.

  4. I have used palm wax for years and they fly out of the mold but I have read where other people are having the same problem. Candlewic does say to add the stearic for easier mold release but I have never needed it. I pour into the pour pot at 225,add color and fo and then pour at 200 into slightly warmed molds (only if it's cold in my work room) and I take them out while the wax is still warm. Especially if I'm using the two piece plastic molds. Try calling your supplier. They may have shipped you container palm by mistake. Oh and I have also on occasion used up to 2 oz fo per lb. without any problems at all. I know it can be very frustating when something suddenly doesn't work which leads me to believe it's a change in your wax.

  5. Ok, got the recipe from my friend- And I've only tried it twice, but it was awesome! She uses 4 oz. shea (unrefined is the best, but refined will work as well.) 2 oz. cocoa butter, 1 oz. olive butter and 1 oz. mango butter. Melt these all in the microwave and mix in 2 oz. sweet almond oil and 2 oz. safflower oil. I added a T of Vit. E and about a T of aloe juice, but they can be left out and it still makes a good belly balm. She also added a little bit of Lavender EO, and Peppermint EO...from what that heavenly stuff smelled like, I'd have never have guessed it was a lavender/mint blend...smelled awesome!! Anyway, hope that helps!!!

From everything I have read about EO's it says that you should never use peppermint eo while pregnant or nursing.

  6. Oh don't you just hate the lice thing!! When my daughter was younger I spent a small fortune on stuff trying to get rid of the nasty things. I found a shampoo and conditioner at the health food store that you could use everyday unlike the "Rid" and "Nix"and other shampoos that are full of pesticides that you have to wait 10 days between treatments. Now they don't carry it and you have to order online. Fortunately I found my old bottle and looked at the ingredients. I use a shampoo base and conditioner and add tea tree, peppermint, lavender, and eucalyptus essential oils. It works great and as a plus it leaves your hair shiny and you can shampoo eveyday so as the eggs hatch it kills the little buggers.
