Do you have an AC Moore near you? They have 16oz & 26oz and these little itty bitty apothecary jars. The range up to $3.29 I think for the 26 oz. Also, try Michaels.
Izzy, it smells JUST like the real thing IMO. I made a batch last year and had them all put away and my neighbor came over and wanted some of the "eggnog that I'd made". I had a time telling her it was candles. She finally believed me once I pulled the candles out and let her smell them. Glad it's coming back!!
I know tons of people who will buy the "inexpensive" candles. You know, the ones w/ little or no hot or cold throw, that aren't colored all the way through, etc, etc. When I see those in someones house, I'll QUICKLY find a reason to give them one of mine as a "GIFT"!!! So they can see what QUALITY is!!
Oh my goodnes...The people and the "kits"!!! LOL I know someone who made candles from a kit and thought they were the best thing since sliced bread. Until she burned one of mine. (Not trying to toot my own horn!!) She now buys from me instead of making her own.
How many of you find that when you start talking to people about your candles and/or bath and body products they think it's SO easy and think they can just jump in without doing research or TESTING?!?!?!? (Is that a run-on sentence?!) I have a good friend that makes greeting cards. She called me today saying she was going to start making massage oil and lotion. BUT, she thinks that she can just buy the ingredients, make it and distribute it ASAP. I asked her about testing and she said, "testing what??". I think she might need to stick with greeting cards!!! LOL
Your local Michaels or AC Moore should have rolls or cellophane in different colors, including clear. They have tons of ribbons to choose from too. HTH
Hopefully, no one will pour a batch of it and go out and get pulled over by the police. You know how the FO lingers on you. That would be a little hard to explain to the cops..."Oh officer, I was making a batch of candles!!" LOL
Finally I have some pics to show!!! Pic 1 - Jamaica Me Crazy and Pear Pic 2 - Orange and Raspberry Pic 3 - Starwberry Kiwi, Grape, Jamaica Me Crazy, Peach, Grape, Orange, Honeydew, Vanilla Passion
Regarding restrictions...I think the answer to your question may be more area specific...it depends on what state you live in. You may want to contact your local small business office as a start or try their website. For instance, in the state of Maryland I can operate my business from my house, BUT, I'm not allowed to keep finished product in my home. HTH
