  1. Thanks for all of your input. It's nice to have a place to ask these kind of questions. I do use a tripod and a home made light box to take my pictures, made a huge difference when I did that. I printed a page on glossy photo paper and it looks 90% better. I know I can't get it to look like a million bucks on my budget but just looking for a nicer look. I think I will go to Staples or Office Depot and check out the papers suggested. Thanks again.

  2. Thanks for responding. Welcome to the board Sweet P, you'll learn alot!!

Sockmonkey, I have printed a couple of the pages on photo paper to see if it was the pictures and of course they are not perfect cause I took the photo's, they look much better on the photo paper. I need to find a happy medium I think between glossy and regular paper I guess. I don't like the smudging with the glossy paper. Perky, thanks for the link, I think I tried that paper before and smudging was aweful, maybe I'll revisit that though. Anyone else?

  3. Just thought it would be interesting to see what everyones favorite tools (or time saving tools) to work with are, besides the wonderful PRESTO POT! LOL

My favorite thing to use is the whisk that you use to make drinks and such. Works great to stir the wax without making lots of air bubbles in it, second is the wick centering tools and plastic canvas.

    So what's yours????

  4. I have a brochure that I made in Publisher and am very happy with it except for the print quality. I have a HP officejet 5500 all in one printer. I know that a laser printer would help, but that's not in the budget for a long time. The picture quality doesn't look good on regular paper, I even tried the thicker paper which made it feel better but not look better. So, which paper do you use for yours? I've tried some of the HP photo paper, but it is smooth on one side and I need it smooth on both sides. I appreciate any input you may be able to give. TIA

  5. Today I spoke with the store and the cops added up all the merchandise. She had collected over $11,000.00 worth of items including the car. So she is going to spend some time behind bars. The stores she stole were from Michaels, Craft Warehouse, Shopko, and another one. I can't believe the stores don't have better security. You are too funny Angelm....:laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

From the stores she visited, maybe she was trying to get craft supplies to replicate your candles :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

I'm an addict too though, you know, wax, FO, CandleTech, etc. but at least I pay for my supplies!

  6. Here is a pic. of a beer candle that I did for a client. I hope this gives you an idea for making your own beer candle. Good Luck!

You're all making me thirsty!!!!!!!! Just one question HeavenScentU, are the bottles actual beer? If so, love the name. That would tell my DH who's beer it is!!!!!!!!!! LOL:laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

  7. I just poured Grandma's Kitchen for an order, smells great. I think around the holidays it does better but I do agree about re-naming it. By the way, I re-named Hillbilly Homebrew- Spiced Pecans. I dipped a snowman in it last year and didn't think the name worked. Sold it though.

  8. Mix your aroma beads, FO, & liquid candle dye in a jar with a lid. I use mason jars, old cleaned out spaghetti sauce jars (make sure all scent is out of it), etc. Shake to mix and shake every so often until they are dry. (they won't stick to the jar when they're dry) After they are dry, I normally use about 2 TBLS of beads per cookie cutter (depending on size, sometimes less) and bake. I always use a nail with a large head sitting on the head in the beads where you want the hole, before baking of course. I have found that if you only bake them for 3-4 minutes, the scent lasts longer. The ornies can be used as car air fresheners. I use small elastic thread, like you use for beading, to hang them. As far as the cardboard, sorry I can't help you there. I am hooked on the ornies. Good luck.

  9. Thanks for trying to explain the odvious to me, I sometimes don't get it! LOL I know when you get the oils, the light oils are fuller than the heavy oils. I didn't know if the darker color of some oils show that they are heavier or not.

Update on the roses, The purple tipped white roses I put into the lilac oil are turning green from the stem. The yellow that I put into the honeydew are doing great( no green). So, I don't think the white roses are good candidates for this application. But they are performing very well!!!

  10. Wow, I swapped shows with a Pampered Chef consultant. She had her candle party tonight, 10 people came, 2 outside orders, and her total so far is $307!!!! Not bad for 2 1/2 hours. I am so excited!!!:yay: :yay: :yay:

She had other people who couldn't make it tonight so we are keeping her party open til next Friday (my PC party) so hopefully she'll get more orders. Downfall, no one booked a party:sad2:

I want to thank everyone on this board for advice, instruction, and ideas! This is the best sources of information that I have found!
