  1. Okay...I'm sold on getting the french van amber, but I'm leaning toward getting a pear fragrance as well. Which pear..I'm thinking of the pear spice because it's the holidays. Any thoughts...or any other Peaks are must haves for the holidays.
  2. Pictures don't do this angel bear justice. I hated to dip this...it was so pretty just plain, but had an order, so had to do it. I wrapped a pipe cleaner with pink ribbon then glued pink flowers and the ribbon around her neck is a sheer pink organza. She was ordered in Apple Pie Spice. The witch is pumpkin fudge and I can't believe she didn't get sold a couple of weeks ago..oh well, off she'll go to sit on my shelf at work so my patients can enjoy her.
  3. I posted earlier about Peaks French Van Amber, but the more I look at the list, the more confused I become. My SIL is in need of a couple of fragrances so I figured I might as well order a few more to get the discount, but am torn on my decision. Please Help! I'm leaning towrd the French Van Amber ....just because of the name and what about these others. I use soy from Bluegrass. Emerald Pear.....or Pear Spice Red Clove...or Currant (I realize 2 different types of smell, but which is the better choice) I have had requests for a pine for xmas but a real "piney" smell gets me sick, so what would be the better choice..Christmas Balsam or Spruce Xmas Tree? I have a lot of bakery fragrances in my line and need to expand so any ideas for must haves would be great. I'm also thinking about the Downey Fresh. I currently have country clothesline and am getting tired of it.
  4. I haven't ordered from Peaks in awhile and was browsing through the list and was wondering if the french van amber is one I should get. I use soy from Bluegrass. The name just is different so thought it might attract buyers.
  5. there is a darice co-op going on right now which includes 2 different kind of tin candle plates..I don't think they're considered grubby but see what you think. What wax are you using for the grubby molds?
  6. I was just browsing through candles and supplies and saw the cutest grubby snowmen molds. I haven't attempted any type of pillar candles yet...only hurricanes and containers with bluegrass soy, tarts and votives with at wix end soy. I'm getting ready to order some stuff from peaks and need to know what wax I need for the grubby molds. Thanks
  7. Ugh! I did a 2 day show over the weekend and sold 6 x my booth fee ( was only $30.00 for 10x10 space for the 2 days ) Anyway...I would've sold a lot more if I had some variety. I surveyed my candle layout and realized I had poured my favorites (all bakery except for verbena lemongrass) Any ides for great (non-bakery) fragrances for the upcoming holidays? I use soy was from Bluegrass and like millcreeks oils. I also surveyed my fragrance cupboard and realized...it's mostly all baker as well. What was I thinking!
  8. I remember seeing some cute homemade wick dippers on the old boards and am trying to talk my sister "the bead queen" into making some simple ones for my show this weekend but not quite sure how to word the directions on the dippers. Thanks
  9. My daughter and I last night made chocolate lip balm (little flower pots) from the BCN base and feels great, but now I found this recipe...now I don't have to be so stingy with my base! Anyway, I see 4 oz. coconut oil is listed and then 4 oz. fractionated coconut oil. So am I to use 8 oz. coconut all together?
  10. Looking for the best place to get cosmetic grade glitter. I see WSP has some for $1.30....I think for 7/8 of an ounce. I want to use it for the aloe glitter so I'm guess I won't need very much, especially if I buy different colors, but does 7/8 go very far?
  11. I just need to get my rear in gear with almost everything. I have a fall festival coming up on oct. 7th and 8th..at least I think. This will be the first time I'm there as a vendor. They usually set the crafters up in the firehall which is sort of out of the way of the rest of the festival so I chose an outdoor space (keep your fingers crossed with the weather). There were no candle crafters there last year, mostly just like church bazaar type stuff, so I'm hoping I'm bringing something different and make some $$.
  12. I'm from Steeler Country as well (although...sadly I admit, I am actually a 49er fan, none the less, still cheer for Cowher and the boys) Do you sell these at any craft shows? I've always been leary about using any "team logos" on anything for sale due to the copyright issues. I even read somewhere that you can't use licensed fabric to make things that you are selling. Just crazy! I only do local small craft shows, so I guess the "copyright maffia" aren't as critical.
  13. It's been a long time since I've been able to do a craft show that hits before halloween so I dug my pumkin jars out and have no idea where I put my wick testing pages..I was keeping them according to my seasonal jars...anyway. I use soy from Bluegrass any hints on what to start testing with. I typically use HTP wicks or cotton.
  14. It's been a long time since I was able to do a craft show that would be in time for Halloween. I would like some "halloween specific" fragrances that work well in soy. I have for my fall line Pumpkin Fudge Pumkin Cheesecake Caramel Apple Apple Pie Spice etc.
  15. I was going to post about the guy selling the big pinecones with the "patent" He has been at our 4th of July festival for a few years now and I noticed last year he had a large sign hanging about the patent and he is very pushy with them...even if you are at a distance just looking he comes out of the booth with one in his hand almost shoving it in you face but he does sell a lot of them.
  16. When I think of Mississsippi, I think of Ol Huck Fin whitewashing a fence so this is what I came up with... Over the Fence Creations and Illuminations.
  17. Everything looks beautiful. I have been wanting to try the balloon candles, but keep that project on the back burner. What does your husband want the kitchen for...does he think it actually serves a purpose? Actually, I finally moved myself out of the kitchen and into the basement 'cause I was tired of working around my own messes and now that school is back in session, the kids need the table for homework. I'm not sure if "my mom's candles dripped on my homework" would pass as excusable!
  18. I use millcreek and bluegrass for my container candles and like both. It depends on which is having the sale.
  19. I get my card stock at a craft store...Pat Catans. They sell many different colors for I think 9 cents each. It's in with the scrapbooking papers.
  20. I like the clean look of the label...looks sleek but what about contact info for repeat orders and weight of candle? Can I ask where you got the clear labels?
  21. I use soy was from bluegrass and christmas splendor from keystone. It is one of my best sellers year round.
  22. I haven't made any wickless candles yet but did catch a great sale on warmers at Michaels awhile back and would like to make them for upcoming craft shows and would like to know which is the best or "most popular" jar to go with.
  23. I just placed my order for: autumn spice, banana cream pie, aqua di gio, brandied apple, spicy vanilla and verbena lemongrass. Any thoughts on any of these. I probably would've ordered more if the descriptions were available.
  24. Thanks for all the replys. I actually forgot I posted this and found the GEII silicone at Trader Horn (Warehouse Sales) today.
