  1. Many eons ago there was a similar candle pic and I have been trying to reproduce it for years! Very beautiful...I am envious!
  2. Always, always, always a pleasure to see your work...it is almost intimidating, they are so beautiful!
  3. You still have the magic touch! They all look amazing!
  4. something different...whipped wax over a hurricane shell, flower cut-outs, and artificial flowers stuck in the middle of the cut-out...the whole thing is covered in iredescent(?) glitter and the green wax is scented gardenia.
  5. They are plain shells with the whipped wax on the outside and cookie cutter shapes. The snowflake one is painted with craft glitter/tacky glue.
  6. I haven't posted in forever. My candlemaking has been exclusively limited to special order picture 'canes. I finally had some time to play and this is what came out of it.
  7. Nothing in the pot but, I am busy organizing and cleaning the supplies and I am going back to candlemaking as my supplemental income. After over a year of trying to take care of 3 kids, a house, and a full time job outside the home, I have given up the job.
  8. I live close enough to have visited Early American...The first time I went, I was overwhelmed with all the candle stuff at my fingertips! I left with 1 mold and some wick samples...the next time I went back, I had prepared a list of exactly what I wanted. While the warehouse guy retrieved my listed items, I wandered around and drooled all over the things I wanted on the next trip!
  9. My first impression was "WOW"...I think the roses are gorgeous....when I make "candles for decoration" I don't use a wick, but a straightened paper clip...in the event someone tries to light it, they aren't going to get very far.
  10. That is as about as perfect that I have ever seen...great candle making!
  11. I think they are quite beautiful and would go great in my living room!
  12. I sat down with all the supplies the other night and just started putting stuff together...it actually came out pretty nice, but my fingers hurt too bad to sew the snaps on...that's o.k....all she does is throw they blanket around and drool on it...I'm sure I'll get the snaps on before she is old enough to actually start using them.
  13. My 9 month old is crazy for zippers, buttons, snaps, and overalls buckles so I went out and bought all these things along with a yard of fabric and some iron on, fusible webbing...I just can't visualize the finished product, so I can't visualize the process as to how to get to the finished product...any suggetions? I do have a sewing machine and I know how to use it(in a home ec. sort of way!).
  14. I know I haven't posted in forever, but I am still making candles. MY memory seems to be shot, and I never remember to take pics.
  15. those are really great for a first try....keep playing, don't be afraid to dump the wax, and spin that candle like crazy!
  16. Thanks all for the comments...friends and family are pretty much the only ones that see these and I try to get creative with the picture it publishing and add/change all the orginal stuff in some way.
  17. It has been awhile, but the baby and I sort of have a schedule, so I am back to making candles:cheesy2:
  18. Very nice! Keep practicing and you will discover they get easier and your artisic talent will blosom, much like your calla.
  19. How unique!! I love it. It almost looks liked a rolled taper. What are the dimensions on this beauty?
  20. Wow...that is really striking!! Nice candle making.
  21. Thanks all...I have been working with autistic children for over 6 years...I love my job and all my kids have a piece of my heart...Pittsburgh NAAR walk is in June.
  22. I know it is makeshift and complete crap looking, but it is functional and not bad for a pregnant chick that had absolutely no help from the DH!
