  1. Okay, here's a silly question...

I've got some tins that I made about 2 weeks ago, that I knew needed to be re-wicked. I'm just now getting around to melting them back down and repouring with the new wicks.

Since these have been 'curing' for two weeks, is that process now null and void since I've got to melt them down completely and repour them? Or, will the hot throw still reflect that curing time?

I have a feeling this is gonna have one of those *smack-forehead* "DUH!" answers... but, I'm feeling a bit braindead today. :laugh2:

  2. I know I'm still fairly new around here, but I think Meredith's answer above is right on the money. As many people that are here, that's how many different opinions you're going to have.

In addition to her answer above, which I wholeheartedly agree with, I'd also like to add that it also depends on if you're after the perfect 'looking' candle, or if you're after the natural properties of plain soy (without parrafin blend).

It's all a matter of taste, and what you can find that works best for you. But, definetley... find the supplier closest to you and start there!

  3. Hello all, I'm new here... but I've spent DAYS reading up on all the old posts around here.

I just did a search and read the back and forth arguments over cure times... but didn't find anyone discussing using 100% soy. Most arguments discussed using soy blends.

Anyone here using 100% Soy (Mine is from NG) have some advice on cure times? I have 3 scents I poured yesterday... after 24 hours, the cold throw is quite nice.... hot throw is barely there, if at all.

Any help for this newbie would be appreciated!
