  1. I 2nd the cranberry marmalade - it is fantastic. Right now burning Lemon, lemon, lemon fro wsp and gardenia lily from AH. The lemon does not seem to be to strong though, could just be me though as I have candlenose:D
  2. R.S. - please don't take this wrong - but are you sure you were using the Glas Glow - with mine sitting side by side I have to double check myself to be sure I scooped up the right wax;) I have not had that happen with all that I have tested.
  3. I need to correct my post from 5-3 . MY WALL WAS NOT 3/4 THICK - left out a very important word. It was probably about 1/4 or so. Hope this did not confuse anyone!
  4. All great Jakalex - I used 2 11's on my 10 oz apoth and it burned fine. I think that is what I will stay with. I tried a jelly jar though and the 12 was better. My pillar - I need to post a pic of the shell it left - really good with hardly no break-off at the top. Just tried to order more and of course they are out - supposed to be in 10th. Certainly hope so!
  5. I think the best way for you to tell what you like best is to take a clear label with only black print - and make your print stand out - on one of your jars with the white wax, then take a white label with picture in background and the white box with your scent name in it and then compare. That is the only way for you to really tell what you like best and what looks best with your jars, because everybody likes different types! hth
  6. I guess I agree with Heavenscent - I lean more toward simplicity when it comes to labels. It makes them look more classy and with the jar you have I don't think you need anything on the label to take away from the very upscale look the jar has.
  7. I was afraid of the plastic - I use the glass 1/2 gallon golden harvest jars I get at the dollar store for my votives. Use the smaller size for my tarts. This has always worked good until you run out of space to put the jars like I have:D hth
  8. 1 made a 16 oz pillar - 3" top - from Moon Lake Musk at 1 oz pp. I used 1 drop of blue and used the csn 11 wick. Now mine was feather palm so don't know if that made a difference or not but the 12 wick was to large. After about 3-4 hr burn it had just about started a leak on the side. Mine is burning perfectly and I can see the glow as it has burned down. It needed to burn down about 1 & 1/2 " to be able to see the glow. My wall was 3/4" thick - maybe about 1/4 or so. Now mine burned all day yesterday from about 5:30 AM to 12:30 AM - a very long time and had no problem with it trying to leak. hth.
  9. I was on a hunt for JCB and decided to try gelluminations and they had eucalyptus so I ordered an 8oz bottle to try. Will post when it comes in. Probably another wild goose hunt:wink2:
  10. I like the redo - I like the simplicity of it That's my style:)
  11. I decided to order the gelluminations JCB and also ordered 8 oz of their eucalyptus - been on a hunt for that also. Didn't say anything about being out of stock. Let you know how I - or that is my sister and daughter-in-law like it. They were the ones wanting it - I haven't smelled it.
  12. Sorry NewOrleansLady - missed your post - I got it and it wasn't what I was looking for. It's not bad but not what I wanted. Probably pretty good for a stuffy nose:D
  13. ISBennis - I did get some hang-up in tumbler but it finally caught up. Of course I am a power burner! As far as the apoth jar and heat - warm to touch is all. I do not believe you could ever get a good melt though with just 1 14. I like using the 2 wicks because you don't have such a large flame. hth
  14. I am burning now a 10 oz apoth jar and used 2 csn 11's in them. They are burning great, no hangup, no soot, good flame. In my 10 oz tumblers I used the csn 14 and it burned good. As far as pillars go - a 3" pillar is burning great with the 11 csn wick. It has a good "shell" around it. Real pretty:highfive:
  15. Well - I can't tell by looking. It has been burning since 5:30 this am and I am very pleased with it. With the 12 I could burn for 3 hr, 4 at most before it got to where you could see a little crack in the shell so I put it out last night and put in the 11. Started back this am burning. It is so pretty - you can see the flame-light through the wall of the pillar. With the 11 I am not scared of a power burner like me winding up with wax everywhere. The pillar is in Moon Lake Musk at 1 oz pp. The wall may be 1/8 or so thick. This is just guess though. :undecided
  16. In answer to the votive - I have made 2 - one in Moon Lake Musk with scn 9 and one in Sands of Moracco with scn 7. Both burned great. Don't know which one to really use since both burned fine. The 7 is their votive wick. hth
  17. I have decided I will most likely use the csn 11 wick for my pillars. The 12 - after about a 4 hr burn is to close to edge and it can cause leaking. The 11 seems to be burning great on my Moon Lake Musk pillar - 3". It is my understanding that a shell should remain after burning the palm, that it does not "consume" itself while burning like paraffin. On votives have not decided on those - moon lake musk with a 9 burned fine while sands of Moracco with a 7 burned fine. To me the Sands of Moracco is a heavier fo than Moon Lake Musk. That's all for now:D
  18. I agree - there are certain scents I only buy from Lonestar because I have not found any better.
  19. If you will go into labelsonline and click on their templets and then select the templet for the size label you have it will show you all 4 margins. Just write them down and then go to avery and select design from scratch and then go in and create your custom label using those same figures they show. You may have to tweak them a little but they will work. Mine print fine on my epson printer - which is an older model. hth
  20. The best program I have found is the free download from Avery Label. You can go in and set up your own sizes and everything. Works great for me. I believe labelsonline even tells you the -- well for a better word which I can't think now - dimensions to use. hth
  21. Thanks all - will sort through and see what I want to try. Right now I have stopped myself from buy any fo. haha
  22. I get my base from WSP and use about 1.5 oz base and add fo to bring it to about 3.5 oz. It throws real good with the fo's I have used. Get my reeds from them also. Have an apple jack & peel made in Jan and it is still stong. Flip about every week. hth
  23. What about the straight apoth jars with flat lids - candlescience has the 5,8,16,26 oz ones or status jar. I like the tumblers with lid and I think Greenleaf might have them with matching lids or something. I use the silver lids from Yes for my tumblers and they look good. hth
  24. I agree with Jakalex about the wicking - I have wicked down on mine also. Right now I have a - well they call it a 16 oz keepsake jar but its actually about 14 oz cooling and a flower pot. I did try the 14 in it and the 9 in the flower pot. Made it in Black Orchid from Tony's in a purple - love that scent - and it's looking real pretty so far.
