  1. I have used liquid for about a yr now & just recently switched to the chips..i cant believe i have lived this long without them....I love the chips!!!
  2. oh sorry, knew i was forgetting something.... IGI 6006 chocolate fudge F.O. My LX 24's are almost thre...but its been burning about 4 hours & still no FMP
  3. I have been trying to wick the frosted 10 oz candelina jars. I started out with Eco 10's, but could not get a FMP. I also had to trim wick to almost nothing before it would stop smoking & have a decent size flame. I tried LX 22, nope no decent MP, Tried LX 24's, nope..almost FMP after 3 hours....Trying to double wick with LX 20's now... Any ideas?? And, should I have to trim wick "so much"...i know it should be trimed 1/4", but i'm having to trim lower then that.
  4. Thats why I started doing Everlasting Palm Pillars...Air bubbles or not...your not burning the candle so it doesnt matter. I was getting bad air bubbles & just gave up & tried my hand at the everlastings & love'em. I'm wanting to try the glass glow, but i'm worried about the air bubbles.
  5. I have a friend that just poured a pillar from IGI 6028 (PARASOY) & she didn't do a second pour..candle looks great!!! Testing it for her now.. HTH KAY
  6. I've never had it happen before..thats why I asked..Hhhmmmm...maybe could be the problem...I didn't poke relief holes cause its just one I'm doing to display on my dinning room table (not burning it).
  7. Ok, Explain this one. I have this huge dent on the side of my candle. First thought, my mold is dented, right??? Nope..straight as could be..Even had the DH look at it, maybe thinking i was seeing things. There is a dent on the candle, but no dent on the mold. It is straight paraffin with tulip (1 oz) F.O. & 6 drops of cinnamon dye. Thats all, but none of that should make this dent right?? Air bubble, but on the side?? I have been working with Palm Wax for about, well for awhile & now trying paraffin again & darn if i cant get a candle to come out. My palms come out great, but my regular paraffins...nope, not a one. The rustic design came out great...but this dent ruins it!
  8. Cory, no one here is calling you stupid (i dont believe so anyways). I started here about a year & a half ago & well, I asked all those same questions & got alot of the same answers you got. I got offended & said "I'm not stupid", I just want to learn". After laying in my bed & crying (saying I cant do this, so others think) My husband reassured me they were just trying to help & maybe some didnt know the right thing to say therefor hurting my feelings. After a year & a half of testing & reading & reading & reading & taking notes & oh my god about $1000.00 later I see NOW what they were saying. I thought too I could pop out some candles & make a little money. Boy, was I wrong. I started out trying to do everything..MASTER EVERYTHING..which by the way (cant be done in a year & a half..) So, I decided to pick one wax (Palm wax) I tried wicking it & after many failed attemptes I decided to try everlasting candles or as I call them "forever candles". I spent awhile getting those right & tried selling them. I made about enough money to buy more supplies..so please dont think you can make a huge profit off it. Especially right away. Take it from someone that was in your shoes. People here are really trying to help. Some just maybe dont know how to express themselves right. As far as the search thing goes..they just didnt realize you knew about it..dont take it personal..I did too by the way..(a year ago), but i use that thing just about everyday now..lol It is big help. Some people just dont like repeating themselves over & over..trust me there too...people were asking me about my forevers...asking me how I did them. I mean over & over...I didnt mind telling them, but i was getting tired of repeating myself...so there the search button comes in handy..you can search palm forever pillars & alot of my posts will show up along with others. Hope this helps cory...& dont be afraid to ask questions here..sometimes you get what you want & other times, well...you know.... Have fun with this... I know I do now!!!!!!!
  9. Ok, I had the great privilege of meeting Sharig today & was trying to show her how to make rustic pillars..yea, this one didn't turn out so great. I have to admit though, its been awhile since i made rustics, but darn this one is ugly! My layers didn't take & the colors, IKK!!! Thanks for lookin!
  10. Ok, we have just got settled in & I am ready to start searching suppliers....Thanks for the info....I'm ready to order, its ben way to long...(3 weeks)!! I've been doing this for almost 2 yrs now & was very happy with candlescirence, but shipping was killing me...maybe that i'm a little closer, maybe it wont be so bad, but i'm going to check out KY Candle.
  11. You know your addicted to candle making when after a state to state move, your candle supplies are the first thing you unpack????? I just moved from AL to TN (needing TN suppliers btw) & after the movers brought in our boxes & furniture, my candle supplies were the first thing I was looking for. My husband told me to slowly put them down & step away....:embarasse Next weekend you know what i'll be doing..or Monday when he is at work... Glad to be back though.....
  12. Man, I had this problem too, but i cant for the life of me remember what fixed it. It's in the settings though..just check your settings...Sorry....but let it dry after you spray it..you'll need about 2 to 3 coats of spray letting it dry about 30 minutes between each spray. Make sure its dry before you stick it in the water to get ready to apply.
  13. Hhhhmmm...I'm not sure where I got that mold. I purchased it over a year ago. Its a petal scallop mold.
  14. I thought it turned out pretty good...
  15. Just as the tital says..do you use pillar wax or container wax for tea lights? I would like to use palm wax for tea lights too, but i only have the pillar kind. Would that work??
  16. I just tried it! IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!! Thanks!!!
  17. aren't they to big (votive wick pins) i'm going to try it now...
  18. I've had great luck with CS (Candle Science)..thinking of ordering Glass Glow as soon as it comes in. I want to do strickly palm one day....but alot of testing stil has to be done on the container wax.seeing i havent started, its gonna be awhile..I have my forever palm pillars down though..Except for the one i did yesterday..amn it was ugly!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure what happend...
  19. I've had the same problem with NuScents feather wax. I've never heard of feather wax only being for votives though. I made some feather wax in my votives & couldn't get'em out. I had to remelt mine down to even start over. They were not releasing at all, I'm wondering if its a supplier thing. I haven't ordered from Candlewic so can't help you there. Nuscents said they might have sent me container wax instead by mistake, but my bag said pillar. It wasn;t releasing on the sides at all though. I started using it in the containers. They were real nice & sent me 5# of again what was said to be feather pillar wax, but again it wasn't releasing, but was separating from the sides a little. i'm wondering if it's just the feather wax.
  20. "poly" is good..am I right all???? I just buy from suppliers..so i know i'm doing right....
  21. Trust me its ugly in person...the starburst effect looks splotchy.
