  1. Perhaps VistaPrints itself is not the only one to blame: http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showpost.php?p=672764&postcount=10

(yellow bellied and all the rest certainly apply though - what a sleazy, cowardly approach.)

We don't have permission to see that link, or I don't anyway. :grin2:

I agree with not giving my money to a shady business.

BUT, from your post on the length of time that people were charged before complaining... It would probably take me even longer to realize it. I don't think I've looked at my CC statement in over a year *faint* Yeah I know, I'm asking for it, shame on me! I use it so rarely that I just don't think to check it. Now, if a magazine showed up in my box, that'd get the suspicion running. Course, it's nearly maxed anyway so there couldn't be too much charged on it. Not that that's a good excuse :embarasse I'm just saying I can understand how they didn't notice for a while.

  2. Thanks. I had found that site as well, but have no idea in the differences of them...lol. Gonna take more research :rolleyes2

Course, it probably wont matter since the self-lighting wicks in candles are patented and they might come after me :embarasse

  3. I have also read....have not done it myself yet....that if you have a gas oven you can set the jars in there and they will "cure" faster. DONT turn the oven on though.

Now.. this confuses me. If it's not turned on, why put then in? Unless maybe it's the slight heat from the pilot light. In which case, my electric does the same by turning the light on. Either way, it doesn't seem beneficial. While heating them slightly might make them dry faster, it would probably make the scent leave faster as well. Just adding less FO should have about the same results. In my thinking, the best way to help the FO absorb is to shake, rattle and roll as often as possible.

  4. You CAN put in as much as you want. You may have wax soup, but it's possible. LOL The max % load from the mfg is supposed to be the highest of the range that will bind with the wax as I understand it.

It will vary some anyway depending on what FO you use, any additives, different conditions, etc. However, more is not always better.

You can add more FO to the wax and have it mix in fine, but it doesn't mean you will automatically get a better scent throw. It does mean though that it will cost you more to make the candle. So you have to decide for yourself if it gives you enough improvemnt to justify the added expense.

  5. Never seen one. Probably wont. Not made standard anyway. Getting 3 wicks to burn in a 3" pillar without blowouts would be quite a trick in itself. Trying to do that in a square one ....I just can't imagine. Even a single wick is tricky trying to get the corners to melt without blowing out the sides. With 3 wicks and 4 corners, I just can't see all 4 walls holding up.

    Good luck to ya!

Just adding... JB Weld is not really necessary. Aluminum tape seals great and it wouldn't make your "adjustments" permanent. Putty would work too and probably even better since it could fill in the little hole too so the old hole mark wouldn't show as much on the top of the candle.
