  1. I sell to a few local stores and also I deliver for free to a few surrounding counties...I also have a web site that I have had for a year now...but Ive never had a shopping cart. So Ive never had anyone other than locals order. I pay $200 a year for the site.(homestead provides it) and now I am looking into adding the shopping carts and accepting credit cards...all that stuff. But the cost for that is an additional $300 a year...so is $500 a year worth it? Just wanting to know if web sales are easy to come by, LOL I know nothing about packaging or shipping cost...etc. TIA
  2. I put the snuffer in a large 8x10 letter envelope and my husband said that there would be paper work to fill out when the customer ok's the shipping price so I am not sure if it was first class or priority all I know is that they told him that it would be trackable...I will post again when I find out. Sorry I couldnt help just yet. Give me a day or so. Thanks
  3. I just got the price...trackable shipping will be $4.00 not bad I guess. LOL

  11. I am in WV and from the day I place my order it usally takes a little over 2 weeks to get my order. Very slow...or so it seems to me!
  12. VanillaSniffie, I agree that there are alot of people on this board who think that every time you ask a question you are just trying to get a free ride off of all their hard work. I found out a long time ago to just try the Search feature because Most are not willing to help out someone who is trying to learn. I do my share of testing and am not looking for an easy way out, just advice, not exact recipes. So you really have to just overlook certain posts and just try to focus on the few on here that really are positive and helpful. Good luck to you and your candle business. Don't give up.
  13. I have always used custom made matchbooks with my prducts. Ive never ordered mine from that site. I did find that site a few weeks ago and was thinking about ordering from her. Matchbooks are a good way to advertise your company. Good Luck!
  14. Gotta give this one to Cajun's Mulberry Madness!
  15. I was getting ready to post a question about Candle Science FO's and saw this one. I have never bought any FO's from here either and received a sample of Sunwashed Linen with my last wax order. It was awesome. I am wanting to try the Caramelized Pralines. Has anyone else tried this one?
  16. Thanks for your help. I just wanted a type of wax that was usable so I could compare the melt points with what I already use. This is a good excuse for me to try the Glass Glow anyway.
  17. ForHisGlory, I haven't bought them yet. If I try them I will let you know. I love the wax in my smaller containers, (9 oz) Hexagon and square masons. But can't seem to get the wicking on the 16 oz containers.
  18. I have never used the GG Container Palm Wax either. Can you layer it in containers?
  19. Has anyone used the Crafter's Choice Low Smoke Zinc Cores from WSP in 4630? I'm going to sample these for my 16 oz. apothecary jars. Just wanted to check what some of you thought first.
  20. I am wanting to start making layered container candles in different FO's. Can you guys give me some wax suggestions? I currently use J223, 4786, and 4630. Will probably start making them in a 16 oz. Apothecary from The Jar Store.
  21. OK, so now I know to only use the large melter to melt the wax and then mix the FO and dye in my pour pots. But what if I need to make 4 lbs. each of two different scents? Can I melt all 8 lbs at once? If I do, then how do I measure to 4lbs. in my pour pot??? Just wondering what some of you guys are doing to help get us started here. I have a little time to get a process developed here because my fundraiser isn't over until the 22nd of February. They wanted to sale for 4 weeks! Thanks for everyones input.
  22. Sorry I wasnt more detailed with my thread...LOL I purchased the 14lb. Melter from candles and supplies. It is on its way to me! I just took on my first LARGE fundraiser and figured Id need it. I currently use 2 presto pots and I add the dye and FO to that. I use alot of paper towels to clean up! If I use more than 2 at a time my breaker kicks! I thought there was a easy way to clean the larger wax melters and I would be able to add the FO and dye. But from reading your replys I see that I cannot do that. I hope that having the melter will speed things up with the fundraiser and also when I get orders for all my wholesales...
