Hi I started out with that wax, I believe they also call it Comfort Blend? It's like really thick Vaseline and a mess to work with. Hands down it has the best throw hot and cold of any paraffin blend. However, once I discovered the creamy slab form waxes I gave the scooper up and now use IGI4630A. I love it, but the cold throw is not nearly as strong as Comfort Blend's. Another nice thing about the creamy slabs like J223 and 4630 is that you will get a richer color. I always hated that my colors in Comfort Blend were so yuck. Another problem I had with the Comfort Blend was that since it was soooo soft and sticky, any lint within a 2 mile radius would find its way to the tops of my candles and every body that poked at the tops left nice big finger marks. You won't find another wax that has the superior cold throw that Comfort Blend offers, but you may find that the others make your work a bit easier. Good Luck with your choice, hope you like whatever you decide on. Quick edit: If you had FO that fell to the bottom, you probably just added a bit more than you needed. Even though you added the ammount that the wax says it will hold, some FO is heavier and you won't need as much. Try adding a bit less and see if that helps.

Hey Jane42, I also use 4630 and recently discovered that I have holes developing. Nothing has been noticeable on the surface, but I was cleaning up some tops with my heat gun and found a nice little hole open up in the center. Doing everything according to proper instructions and can't figure it out, so I have been poking relief holes in EVERYTHING just to be safe. I have noticed that when the holes open up there can be a tiny bit of a splash from the wax. Nothing so far that has gone beyond the perameters of the container. It is really making me crazy since I thought I had this wax figured out! Anyway, I have been working on wickless also and this really put a dent into my plan. HTH.

Sorry Holly, I just took a look at the scent description for cinnamon sticks. Before they changed everything on their site a while back the description used to say it was tripple strength. Not sure why they leave that out now, but I am 100% positive that it used to say that. HTH.

You mentioned that you thought it was WSP. Well, they have a Cinnamon Sticks that they claim is extra strong and I love it. Maybe this was what you were looking for? I use it in my 4630.

Try a fragrance that would be something people could relate to the city of Pittsburgh. I would avoid making striped layers though, It could come out looking like a bumblebee got caught in your jar

I am assuming that those are soaps in the little boxes with the window openings. They're very cute! Never seen those like that before...

Very cute idea, but I have to agree with some of the others. Not sure if it's terribly safe having the scented wax so close to an electrical outlet. What if it's bumped and wax gets into the wall socket? If you test it out and things work well, I would love to know.

Maybe try Oxyclean, make a paste and let it sit for a bit. Not too long.

Maybe a layer of tan at the bottom (like sand) and light teal above. Those are a hot color combo for decor right now...

Haven't tried any of those Denise. I agree, WSP's FO is great! I will never second guess the prices there because I have never been dissapointed. They are the perfect argument for "you get what you pay for".:smiley2:

Glad to see you like the WSP Apple Butter Denise, I just ordered it. Their Christmas Wreath is by best selling pine fragrance. I second Carol's vote for the All Hallows Eve too, forgot that one, great stuff.:smiley2: I only made tarts with the Mixed Spice, but I liked the scent combination, Red Hots meets Cinnamon Spice kind of thing.

I don't know about Chicago, but there's a supply place in Ohio, Wholesale Supplies Plus that sells scented and unscented beads at a really reasonable price. It's very easy to scent them yourself.

My new fav is Lebermuth Mixed Spice from ICS. Very spicy...

Hi JustRightCandles! I have used 4630a for about 3 years now (not many do). I use the low-smoke zinc wicks from WSP and a few other users like the HTP and the regular zinc wicks in this wax. If the diameter of your jelly jar is about 3", you could try a #21 low smoke zinc. However, like I said there are a couple of other 4630 users that swear by HTP and Zinc. The staff at WSP have a lot of great suggestions on wicking this wax too. Like the others said, try one type of wick at a time, measure your container diameter and start with the wick size that is recommended for that size container. Take lots of notes. Clean Cotton should give you a nice throw in 4630 but this wax will have you banging your head against a wall trying to find strong cold throw. HTH.
