I had a problem with UPS leaving a $600 formal gown on my front porch(sat there all night)and not ringing the door bell. It rained that night too, luckily the dress wasnt damaged. But I did call and complain. Both companies are suppose to ring your door bell.

You should always test your candle first before giving it to someone else to test. They arent going to pay attention to it like you would. Maybe your FO didnt get mixed well?

Maybe go to the hardware store and look for a roll of thin silicone or something. Cant think what I am trying to say here. And then maybe glue it on.

THe hot throw gets even better after a few days, it needs a little cure time since it has some soy in it.

I like Candlescience, they are really reasonable. I also tried some recently from Aroma Haven, they were all good. Check out the fragrance board, AH is having a sale right now for a few days. I generally stick with Candlescience as I pick up orders, love no shipping:)

I pour that wax at 170, altho I do tins so dont know about wet spots. I have heard in large jars that you need a repour. I would think in 8 oz jars you shouldnt. Let them cool really slow, that will help. I never need a repour on my 8 oz tins, so try pouring at 170 and see how it goes.

Do you have your wicks attached to the jar? Thats all I can think of if they are falling over, maybe they are coming unattached if you have attached them.

I usually go with 1 oz per pound of wax. I tried 1 1/2 oz recently, but made it hard to wick so I am going back down. I get great hot throw with 1 oz.

If you are using no additives, it may be mottling. Also cool your candles slow. You will have less shrinking if you let them cool slowly. Candlemaking is a slow process, dont try to speed it up:)

Maybe cooled to fast. Did you put it in the fridge or freezer to get it out of mold? That can do it too.

The wax from Hobby Lobby may not be a container wax. If its straight parraffin its probally for pillars. Pillar wax is harder and will pull away from your container. I would recommend getting some good quality container wax from a supplier close to you. Check around with different suppliers on shipping. I have heard that candlescience has good shipping costs, I order all my wax from them but pick up my orders. Good luck.

I oreded from them when I first got started. You probally went over on the 30 lbs with 4 slabs of wax. I believe when I ordered it took the shipping off my order. Maybe give them a call?

I have heard of some people buying those machines, but I dont think they got good reviews. All you need to start out is a pour pot and a pot larger than the pour pot to make a double boiler. I bought a pot at walmart for like $4. Works great for me as I only do it on the hobby level. Shouldnt cost you more than $15, or you can try what alot do is to use a Presto Pot.

Yes the tins get hot after a few burns. You may be able to go down one wick size if it seems to be getting a full melt pool pretty fast. I am still wicking mine, but they seem to always catch up on the 3rd burn if theres a little hang up.

Thats not bad for what they charge for a pair of jeans, like $200 and up. Its all about designers these days argg:rolleyes2

Sounds like bad batch of wicks to me too if you have had good results until now. Was this a new batch of wicks?

Sounds logical to me lol, but I am no expert on the air bubble thing. Maybe try melting the crystals seperate in a little wax. I havent use those before so dont know if it would work or not. Good luck! Winter always makes our candles act funny.

You will have to test burn to be sure. Depending on your wick etc it will vary. If your wick is to big, then it will go quicker.

I would think if you are double wicking you wont have to go up to much from what you use in the other jar. I would start maybe at one size larger and go from there. How much wider are the bigger jars? I dont use your wax tho, so just a guess:)

I've been using a glue gun as well. The problem I've been having is with heating the containers (glue comes loose???). I've tried wicking and then heating as well as heating and then wicking - still some of them come loose this way.

I was considering using something I found at hobby lobby (small double sided stick mounting squares) that come on a roll of 500 for $3. Not sure if that would work better or not though.

Not sure if those would stand up to the heat. I use them for scrapbooking. I use some wickstickums I bought a long time ago from cierracandles, never have had a problem.

Maybe ask her out for a outing, and stop by your local firedepartment. Let them tell her how important candle safety is. Thats bad that she has a child and isnt more responsible.

What temp do you add your FO at and how long do you stir? That is the problem alot of times. Also some FOs are just not as strong. Also try curing it a few days, it gets better with time.
