  1. Those are stunning! I think anyone would be proud to have them in their home.
  2. That's weird; I got the most freebies this time that I ever have. I got a sample pack of soap boxes, a full ounce sample of Egyptian Spice, and sniffy bottles of Hot Spiced Cocoa and Frankincense & Kadoda Fig. I think this was the most I've ever ordered at one time, though.
  3. I've been looking around at different body butter/cream bases on sites. Jody's site says you can add up to 8 oz/gallon of distilled water if the base is too thick for your taste; more water than that, and you need to add additional preservative. WSP says distilled water can be added to their base, if you want a thinner product. Neither site gives any "particulars" about this, however. Is there any such thing as one preservative "clashing" with another? Could I conceivably add a preservative to the water that would diminish the effect of the preservative already in the cream base? I have a multitude of different preservatives on hand, but which one would you use to only preserve the water you added to an existing product? I'm surprised that there isn't more info given on the sites about this; why even plant the idea in a customer's head that they can add more water to your base, without telling them how to do it safely?:rolleyes2
  4. As far as the scent goes, what was your opinion of the one from CCS? Is it a good, strong oil?
  5. I had to "dummy up" something:cheesy2: This girl at work wanted three bars for teacher gifts, and since the grandkids broke my crayons, I had to break down and print up a few labels. Definitely label-challenged!:rolleyes2
  6. SW does have some really incredible scents, but a few of the ones I got this time were much lighter than I expected. Reaction and Tender Touch are two of the most $$ ones there, and I honestly don't see how either of those will make any impact at all in soap at the normal levels. I could end up being surprised, but I'm usually not; I do hot process and most of the time it's pretty much 'what you see is what you get'. Hope I'm wrong, though. Hypnotic Poison, Chocolovers, Be Delicious, Coconut Lime Verbena, and Sweet Layer are extremely nice. Lolli Pop would be a good one if it were about three times stronger; can hardly smell anything straight oob, but what I can smell is good.
  7. We appreciate any suggestions, e! Fo Ho's always appreciate the scoop:D Swap? Did you say swap? You know I'm game!
  8. Caribbean Coconut, Mango & Papaya, Sugared Shortbread is to die for:drool: , Peach Nectar (haven't poured in wax, but wonderful in b&, Nantucket Briar, Maraschino Cherry (Sandi turned me on to this one:cheesy2: ). I am sure there are a bunch more; I'd have to look around and see what I've got. There is also a Peach Jubilee that sounds good (always in search of the very best one); may have to give that one a whirl.
  9. Sounds like a great possibility to finish up to $50:cheesy2: They also have several new ones in this week that sound interesting. Almost all of the oils I've ever gotten from WSP have been very high quality.
  10. I do that too, Malinda; and I'm sure I'd have no trouble spending $50:D Just hoping to get someone's opinion on it before I pay that much, kwim? It is a fantastic fragrance, so sure hope it's a true dupe! Guess I'll pass on SOS for this one.
  11. Anyone tried this one from WSP? I don't go in VS much, so had never smelled this scent until someone at work was wearing it today. Oh, it is very nice! Set about hunting a dupe, and WSP is all I can come up with. Since her stuff isn't cheap (nearly $2/oz for the pound size), wanted to get an opinion on it first.
  12. Oh, but it was Brach's who made that neopolitan candy. No dairy in that:D. That's how I used to keep my girls under control at the supermarket when they were small; bribe them with getting to choose some Brach's Pick a Mix if they were good:drool: Gorgeous, Brenda! Those are terrific-looking layers:cheesy2:
  13. OMG, I would have been peeking out of my window from across the street laughing my butt off probably at a younger age:cheesy2: But it sounds like he had something going there. Does he still have his notes I can borrow on how he set it up:laugh2: PM Donita; she had a post about a solar cooker she had rigged up a year or so ago Edited to say I was mistaken; I found the post I was looking for in the archives, but it wasn't a solar cooker. It was a 'buddy burner' where you use left over wax chips for fuel. She did say, though, that she had made a solar cooker in the past.
  14. I've read several comments that the NG Downy dupes are right on.
  15. Okey doke:cheesy2: I'll try to get these out to you by Monday; they're all extremely good ones.
  16. You're bad, Sandi; Very, very bad!! I didn't know they had a new honeysuckle. Need to check that one out for sure; I'm on a honeysuckle kick here lately.
  17. Guppy, I have: Clinique Aromatics Elixir type, Provence, Full Moon, New England Bayberry, and Yuzu Grapefruit that I don't see on your list. I don't have any tubes to make sniffifes, but I could trade you 1 oz samples for the Peak Honeysuckle:D
  18. So HL does the '40% off any one item' thing like Michael's does? I'll have to start watching for that; never noticed it for some reason. I love HL!!
  19. I think these are some of your best ones yet, e. The kid's got a great eye!
  20. Periodically, HL has all candle and soapmaking supplies 50% off. When that is on, you can get a slab for $5 or $6, depending upon location. I think they were going up from $9.99 to $11.99 a slab, but when I got my last batch about 4 or 5 months ago, the store I was at still had some of the $9.99 slabs. Of course, with oil prices, they may have gone up even more since then.:rolleyes2 Go to their website and sign up for their sales bulletins; you'll get an email every Sunday giving their specials for the week. That's handy for me because the nearest HL is almost 40 miles away, so I don't get a circular in my newspaper.
  21. The HL wax is a good deal when they have the 50% off sale; I have several slabs in my garage that I bought last time. Mixed about 70-30 with 4627, it makes very good votives and tarts, imo; a little softer than some other waxes, but good scent throw. Also, imo, if you reverse the percentages, and mix 40-60 with 4627, you've also got a container wax with very good scent throw (burning a MC High Cotton one right now made with that combo). This will also give you a good, flat top if poured fairly cool; any more HL than that, though, and you have to do a repour, or heat gun it. Try it out; I was pleasantly surprised how well it works; the 4627 has enough additives, imo, to cover the HL and no additional vybar is needed.
  22. Those are gorgeous, and that mold is stunning. Great job!
