Pom & Peach definitely. Saw a drink recipe with Pom liqueur & peach schnapps and thought it sounded yummy. Probably smells good also! Missy

Hi Sandy, I also am using C-3 and ECO wicks. It's definitely hit or miss with JS. I was desperately searching for a great blueberry and tried their blueberry cobbler and got no throw. The only one so far out of 10 samples that I bought that worked for me was the Nana's Apple Butter and it smelled great after about 3 days of curing. Dani, if you could email me also and let me know what works I would appreciate it. JS has so many awesome sounding FO's. I just don't want to waste any more money on FO's that don't work in soy! I have a question about Daystar Fragrances
MissyK replied to Raggedy Dani's topic in Fragrance Discussion
I don't know the answer to your first question but Stacy's Peach Jam Cheesecake and Cinnamon Glazed Baklava are yummy!!!!!! Missy -
I love Peak's Pink Sugar. I think it is dead on and I have the perfume. I'm not quite sure about Love Spell. I don't know what that really smells like either! Missy

Colorado Christmas or Colorado Wildnerness, where can I find them??
MissyK replied to jwickst's topic in Fragrance Discussion
I know FOH has Rocky Mountain Christmas. Maybe the name was changed to Colorado being that it's in the Rockies. LOL Heartfelt has Rocky Mountain Pine. Hope this helps!!!! Missy -
Looking for a great "clean" scent that throws well in soy...
MissyK replied to cleanglow's topic in Fragrance Discussion
I have about 4 clean scents on my list and love them all in my soy: Gain - Millcreek Flannel Sheets - AH/RE Clothespins - AH/RE Stone Washed Cotton - Daystar They are all very strong to me but I do have to let them cure for at least a week. Missy -
Get the Vanilla Nut Bread (BnL) while you're there. Any of the BnL or WYW FO's are awesome in soy. I love the Buttercream Crunch(WYW) also. I ordered today also and decided to try some more of the WYW FO's. Had to try the Island Kola Nut and Goddess. I just couldn't resist any longer! Missy

I want to place an order with JS because of the sample sale but I'm a little hesitant because I had no scent throw with the Blueberry Cobbler and Buttercream Crunch in my C-3 wax. Now, the Apple Butter threw great for me. I know it's hit or miss. Oh what the heck! It's only $10.00 plus shipping of course. Missy

I like CandleScience's Mistletoe. Very strong!

I third the pumpkin fudge. Poured it last week, burned it yesterday and loved it. I also poured the Pineapple Upside Down Cake and Banana Crumb Cake but haven't burned them yet. They smell delicious though! I heard Salty Sea Air was great! Missy

OOH, I forgot about that Southern Vanilla from KY Jordan. That one is awesome!!! Very buttery and yummy! It's a toss up for me between that one and Scented Bean's Vanilla Dream. I love them both! Missy

I use quite a few of CC's FO's and I love every one of them. I use about 1oz per pound although I probably could use less on some of Lyschels's oils. Here are the ones I use and love: Bunchberry & Moss - this one is great Neroli de la Luna - very woodsy nice scent Sultry Angel - I love this one also. Has to be my favorite! Dewdrop - Very mild but nice Serendipity - very different Tiger Lily & Cantaloupe - Great scent Vanilla Voodoo - Tried and liked but decided to go with Daystar's Ultimate Vanilla instead Fairy Dust & Twinkle Toes - Great grapefruit type scent. I can't decide between this one and Scented Bean's Serendipity. Peony White Tea - awesome scent. Lyschel sent me a sample of this and I had to go order a lb right away. All of these are great oils and work great in soy! Missy

I mixed Peak's Mac Apple and CC's Caramel and it is awesome!!! I used about 2 parts Mac Apple to 1 part Caramel because CC's Caramel is very strong! It is very YUMMY!!!! I also have Snowtop's Green Apple. May try that one in the future.

I have about 4 different vanillas on my list and they are all different. Ultimate Vanilla - Daystar (very strong) Vanilla Dream - Scented Bean (more of a bakery vanilla) Vanilla Bliss - Snowtop - very strong (seems like it has a hint of maple or something) Vanilla Velvet - BCN (more of a straight vanilla to me) I think Ultimate Vanilla is alot like CC's Vanilla Voodoo. I tried both and just decided to go with Daystar. Missy

Oh, I am so tempted! I don't need any more pumpkins! I have Pumpkin Crunch Cake, Pumpkin Fudge.......... I just may have to go check it out. They don't carry to many oils. I hate to go there for just one oil. I don't really see anything else there that interests me. HMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What's a girl to do?

Any reviews on KY's Cinna-Vanilla???
MissyK replied to sawyer's moon's topic in Fragrance Discussion
I am curious also. I tried the Cinnamon Crunch from Candlesource but it's not quite what I'm looking for. I keep checking in with KY because that's where I get my clamshells and they are OOS but so is the Cinn-Vanilla. I want to get that Caramel Pecan Pie too so I'm waiting! -
I agree with everyone else. I order from about 10 different suppliers. Haven't tried ebay yet though. I can tell you that my favorite scent right now is "Blackberry Jam Butter Cookies" from Daystar, but I also have about 60 scents on my list and I wouldn't have picked them if I didn't love them all. I use 100% soy and oils from some suppliers don't work for me but will work for others who use blends or just paraffin. Alot of people here love JS but I find their oils don't work for me in my soy. Here are a few of suppliers that I use: Millcreek, Natures Garden, Snowtop, Daystar, Scented Bean, Candle Cocoon, BCN, BCS, AH/RE, Candlesource and Peaks. Just order a bunch of sampler packs like someone previously said. That's the best way to test!

I have bought from Pure Integrity before and I think that they manufacture their own oils or she has someone make them for her if you know what I mean. They are really good and strong! I haven't come across a great strawberry yet! I tried Strawberry Jam from BCN and I didn't really like it. I haven't tried Fresh Picked Strawberries from ICS yet. It seems like it is hard to find a good genuine strawberry. Candlefind did a review on strawberry scented candles and I can't remember who she picked for the best strawberry. I think it was Garden of Eden Candles. I know LeeAnn's Soy candles was in the running and I know she buys oils from Candlesource. I only know this because her scent list is nearly just like Candlesource's scent list. Wish I could help you more. I haven't found a great one yet either. In the meantime, I'm just sticking with my Bird of Paradise from Daystar.

Candles not burning to the bottom
MissyK replied to MissyK's topic in General Candle Making Discussions
I'm sorry. I'm talking about 3 different jars here. But, I've figured it out in the meantime. I bought ECO wicks from Lonestar and BCN with 2 different size necks. I didn't realize this until tonight when I measured because it doesn't say on the bag. I also went to their websites and checked. I just need to reorder the 12's & 14's from BCN with the 6mm neck tabs. Thanks everyone Missy -
Candles not burning to the bottom
MissyK replied to MissyK's topic in General Candle Making Discussions
You know, it's got me wondering too. A friend of mine said the wick went out with about an inch of wax still left. My sister made the same comment. I guess they are just not used to having wax still left at the bottom of the candle. Around here in New Orleans, people burn alot of Circle E and Tyler Candles and both of those burn all the way down, so I guess they just find that strange that the wick goes out with wax still in the jar. OK, I just measured the necks. I got some ECO 12 & 14's and the neck is 10mm and I got some ECO 2's from BCN and they are 6mm. Does that sound about right? Which ones should I use? Missy -
Yeah, I looked at those too but I was thinking about my 3 children 5yrs old and younger and immediately decided against those for safety reasons. I do have a large electric tart warmer from Tartburners.com and I absolutely love it. It has a 40 watt bulb and it melts a whole clamshell pack in about 15 minutes. Sometimes I just love to throw them all in there. (3 cubes just never seems like enough). I had to get the one with the kitty cats on it and it is adorable! Missy

Candles not burning to the bottom
MissyK replied to MissyK's topic in General Candle Making Discussions
I use the ECO pretabbed wicks. I don't even know what size neck it is. The neck is a little high I guess but all of the pretabbed wicks I bought are the same. I burned one today and it was just fine. It left about 1/2 inch at the bottom, which to me seems normal! I think my friends are just comparing them to Circle E candles which do burn all the way to the bottom. Well, I surely don't want people to have accidents so I guess I would rather it this way! Thanks everyone! Missy -
I'm using ECO wicks and none of my candles burn even close to the bottom. The wick dies out or falls out and I have about an inch of wax left at the bottom. Of course, I don't mind it because I just put the leftovers in a warmer but my family and friends have commented on it. Anyone having the same problem? Is it the ECO wicks or do most wicks do this?
