  1. Dragging this back up, and haven't really been posting too much since it happened. So I found out a few month back that I do in fact have RA and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I'm pretty tough but this is for the birds. Now it's in my feet and knees. The drugs are tearing my stomach apart and really not doing much for the pain. I just kind of deal with it until the specialist gets me on a medication I can handle. On a better note I'm going to Disney Tuesday, pain or no pain and if I need a wheel chair to get around the park I'll just move through the lines faster lol It's a win win. (Staying positive)
  2. Thanks carol, I love Millcreek glad to hear they are sticking around.
  3. Wow! I gotta say I'm not loving the response I got from JS at all. I took it as very rude, defensive and not willing to admit someone made a mistake. I'm pretty shocked actually. I always considered her one of the better suppliers. She did say I could send it all back and she'll look at it and refund my card. I shouldn't have to pay to ship it back. I hope she at least sends a prepaid label.
  4. JS has allot of good oils, I just got my order today from them but it's all screwed up. :tiptoe:Zucchini smells like gingerbread and orange.. sourcream spice cake smells like zucchini is supposed to and jelly donut smells like her bazooka bubblegum. I was really looking forward to trying these but since obviously someone mixed up labels/ entire order I can't recommend any of the "new" ones. Waiting to hear back on how they're going to handle it. The Citrus linen h2o is great, so it caramel cinnamon latte, fizzy pops, she had a good fruit loops too. Not liking the honey buttered rolls too much, doesn't smell like bread at all but again, the order is messed up so who knows if that is what I actually got.
  5. Wow that's almost as good as "My friend who helps me design my site found your pics and said they were not copyrighted" or "you should feel honored they were good enough to copy" Had both of those statements said to me when I caught people stealing, baffled! LOL Wonder if the "surgery" was the removal of your foot from her ass. Glad your pics are safe now.
  6. I've blasted 5 different vendors for doing the same thing to me over the years. I emailed, called their #'s and screamed at them, got one kicked off ebay. People are so lazy and don't think twice about ripping you off. No response is rude, playing stupid with the lovely response of "a friend copied it and has been helping me build my site we didn't know it was copyrighted and never heard of you" (Then you check your webstats and they're all over it going back almost a year) Best thing you can do is watermark everything and out them here so they are rightfully stoned. This lady may respond, she may not, but if she keeps it up you can contact Ebay, Etsy and her web host and they will take it down and most likely suspend her account.
  7. I know JS is pretty close but it looks like me candle supply also has a version. From the pic it looks to be the same type. Has anyone tried ME's tart wax? It's $100 per case shipping included and that is $15 less than JS for me. TIA
  8. LOL well take it from someone that has told a customer or two that they are a PITA, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if you're right or wrong you're a business so you just need to bend over and smile. I'm sick of people and their customer is always right flags waving when they're dead wrong and just trying to pull on over on you or just plain stupid. You're always supposed to remain "professional" because standing up to someone or inforcing basic store policy is poor customer service. Some people are just total a######s and it is what it is. For someone to tell you that terms and policies don't matter says it all about the character of person you're dealing with. Stick to your guns, obviously you're better off without someone like that buying products from you. You can pick and choose your customers. I do, and I have a great customer base. A few 10.00 orders from a bunch of PITA people with way too much time on their hands is not worth the hassle, time is money- they can go shop at Walmart. And someone mentioned a competitor, trust me they're are some real bottom feeders out there that will do anything to knock someone more successful down hoping to make a few bucks from smearing your name. It's pretty pathetic I've seen it and had it happen to me. I don't know if anyone remembers that I posted a year or so ago about refusing service to a customer and in the end I had to call the police on the lunatic...... found out about 6 months ago it was a competitor and friend. Couldn't figure out why someone would go to lengths like that... still don't know what purpose it served, joke's on them my business is just fine, can't say the same for theirs though. Probably should have worked harder on their craft than attacking me and playing on the internet.lol
  9. I don't buy a lot from BCN just because they really don't have too much that wows me. I buy an oil here and there but honestly I can get just about everything they offer somewhere else. I had a few bad experiences with them that kind of stuck with me. One that really stands out is the "water in the wax" saga. To get a response to "melt it, pour it on a cookie sheet, let it harden and wipe off the water with papertowels... then remelt it all make my candles" .......Are you kidding?? Sorry sweetie, I'm a business I don't have time for that nonsense to be playing around with cookie sheets and jazz. They ended up replacing all the cases after numerous phone calls. Next was the little chunk mold.... I returned it and went to somewhere else. The lady was like "the size was posted under the item hun". I said I am aware of that, maybe it should have said I need a needle to fill the cavities.lol I had to pay a restocking fee and return shipping, which is fine, I knew that and it was their policy, but was not thrilled. If it says shipping is an estimate then what can you do? I would just expect a big business like BCN would have the software to give accurate estimates, 1 and a half pounds of FO with packaging should be just a tad over 2lbs.
  10. Well I'm ticked because I checked out the ones online and they are beautiful and the wattage is good. 15 bucks??? Are you kidding? That is dirt cheap, I can't compete with that.I'm getting that red one for myself. As for the clams- I carry almost 380 scents and my clams are 4 ounces and I charge $4.00 and don't have a problem getting that in my area or online at all. The quality will go down as prices for material go up, and customers will stop buying from them. I've seen it happen a few times. Walmart is price -not quality... something that good at that price can't last forever, somethings has to give and who ever is making their candles is not a not for profit org. Next year Walmart will want a better price and the manufacture will not be able to do it.
  11. Maybe this will help narrow it down but I was lucky enough not to have my # stolen recently In the past 2 months out of your list I've ordered from: Indiana Candle Supply No Kentucky Candle Supply Yes UPS NO USPS Yes Just Scent Yes Natures Garden Yes Bitter Creek North No Candles & Supplies No-- a 1 1/2 years ago my Business credit card was stolen- This was one of 5 places that I used it at when it happened. Online Labels No Candle Wic Yes Fillmore No Amazon Yes
  12. So I woke up this morning in tears and couldn't move my left wrist or fingers. The pain woke me up out of a sound sleep it was so intense. I don't know what I did- I didn't fall, I didn't twist anything- I can't explain it, but apparently my Dr. told me today that I must have done it pouring so many candles. I'll admit I've been really busy over the past few weeks but I've never sprained or torn tendons in my wrist pouring or carrying wax in 11 years!! lol I burnt myself enough but nothing like this. So now I'm in a brace and overloaded on advil typing with one hand. He said I need to baby it for a week and if it swells anymore or turns red I need to come back. Sheesh.
  13. I have paypal and I don't have any holds on funds? Is this for checks or something?
  14. I've never heard of them, the name kind of reminds me of citi bank or something I've heard on TV before. Did anyone check out BBB ratings or see how long they have been in business or under another name? I hate to be so skeptical but when something sounds too good to be true it usually is.
  15. I asked this a few months ago and I have both, KY is better.
  16. I was going to recommend that one, it throws great for me.
  17. I should have asked her if she wanted fries with that lol. Off base but speaking of fries "natural cut fries and real sea salt". LOL I just watched that commercial about an hour ago. Really natural fries and real sea salt huh. They're french fries, it's a potato. Who are they kidding? Anyone catch the other with soda with "real sugar"? I plan on contacting them later tonight and tell them I'm making a review on my awesome free blog about french fries and soda and I need some free samples. Then tomorrow morning I'm off to the bank and see if I can sample their money before I open an account.
  18. I agree. I get those emails at least 4x a week. I used to respond with a standard email saying no thanks but I just delete them now. 99.9% of the time it's a scam or someone with an audience that would never buy your stuff anyway. I've seen review pages on facebook and most of them are a joke but I would totally send your products to candlefind. They are awesome and tactful regardless of their opinion good or bad. When I was reviewed years ago I didn't even know about it and the reviewers ALWAYS pay for their products which is the way it should be. I got an email a year or 2 ago with some chick almost threatening me if I didn't respond to her send me freebies email that would go in her review- as customer service is always a top priority. LOL Okay, you would have to make a purchase to be a customer but whatever. Another one that stands out is the lady in Canada that wanted a FREE full sized sample tarts in every scent (350) plus a burner so she could melt them and wanted me to ship it all to her. I think the gonads on these people, really are they on drugs? What I would really like to do is ask them what makes them think they don't have to pay for things? I have to, you guys do are they special in some way or exempt somehow? If you're a new business and don't know yet, never send anything to anyone for free. Samples of your choice if you want with paid orders only. Oprah is the only exception. Everyone has a youtube channel, facebook account and free blog now a days it means nothing.
  19. I have thin female hands and I can bend it:laugh2: I'm not freakishly strong or anything. I just score the wax with a dough scraper and bend it on the edge of the counter until it breaks apart and repeat each section. For harder waxes I take out each slab and place it in a rubbermaid container (the big one) and beat the hell out of it in the container with a hammer until I get workable chunks and repeat until the entire case is in the container.
  20. I’m sorry, I just want on a bit of a rant for my situation and didn’t really answer your question entirely. The first step is to run a trademark search through the data base, as long as nothing pops up in your class (candles and wax melts) then you can start the trademark process. You can do it on legal zoom if you wanted to save money. I recommend you upgrade to their data base search. Before they file they will give you a list of all the names that could interfere with you getting a trademark granted. Remember It’s a one shot deal, the government can deny you the mark and keep your money (close to $ 1,000 when all is said and done) so be sure to diligently research the name first. Chances are if there nothing is showing up in the class you want then you should be fine. I would not wait on it, the sooner the better incase you ever end up in my type of situation. The more you have to protect your business the better especially if you have to go to court. In some instances you may not even have to go to court to protect your name. In my case as far as some of the internet infringing that I found, that’s all it took was an email to the legal departments with an attached trademark certificate that got the products and accounts deleted off the servers literally with-in hours. I had 2 of the infringers facebook accounts deleted using my name and an Etsy account deleted just with an email. Apparently they take it very seriously.
  21. I have a trademark so maybe I can help. I also have a trademark attorney that's fighting on my behalf because someone is currently infringing on my mark. The infringer already got a C&D but it looks like we're going to court so I'll share the valuable and expensive info. In laymen terms 1. If someone has the name, pick something else. You did your due diligence running a search. Some people just see the domain name up for sale and think it's available or think their DBA is the end all. That is not the case, DBA’s are just a doing business as in your state, trademarks trump it. 2. Yes, Trademarks are not the end all, it's who used it first in commerce Trademarks just further helps your chances in court. In my case I was in business first and had a trademark way before she opened up shop. This person is just trying to cash in on my hard work. 3. It’s all about classes. Fruits and nuts are not the same as candle and wax melts. You can have "bean" produce but you can't have "bean" candles" because it's trademarked. You can't have the word "bean" period in your co. name because it's opens up the matter of product confusion. Also spelling it differently or trying to do a play on words doesn't fly either. You couldn't use been or beans and if you tried saying Dean Pod changing the B to a D would land you in court too. Here is some Legal mumbo jumbo but it’s something to consider if you end up on the infringing end. Trademark infringement and unfair competition under both state and federal law, including the Lanham Act, (15 U.S.C. §§ 1051-1127) grants remedies for such infringement which can include payment of actual and treble damages, recovery of profits, reimbursement of attorney’s fees, and also include injunctions against further use of the Infringing Trademark and the seizure and destruction of infringing materials. The Trademark Counterfeiting Act of 1984, 18 U.S.C.A. 2320 defines certain forms of trademark infringement as "trafficking in counterfeit goods", made punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment and a $250,000.00 fine. Basically, the infringer ends up picking up the bill for everything when the Trademark holder wins in court, they’ll take everything. Put a lean on your house, plus the shirt off your back when they go looking for the money. And whatever you do don't post on a public venue like facebook after you get served with papers that you are still using the trademark after you got the C&D and agreed to comply, but you are secretly using the trademark in your home state and the products are available fine salon and gift shops. Yes, the infringer is quite the dumb ass and thanks to her own public statements that I took a snap shot of and sent it off the attorney, she just buried herself even deeper.
  22. I got an email from a lady who wants a replacement for a broken candle. She got it for her B-day at an office party, not sure who gave it to her, not sure when it was purchased but wants to know what I can do for her.
  23. You know what, I've had issues with everyone at some point. LOL, I order so much,so often from so many different suppliers it's just the law of averages or I just have crappy luck. I will say I'm done with the scent works after the london lemon curd saga. They just don't have it together.
