  1. I have to agree with JS pumpkin pie spice, awesome.
  2. Yep... blind swirl is the way to go on the brown ones. Just like to know which scents turn brown so I don't scent the whole batch!! I'll check the suppliers scents before I do another one.
  3. I cp blackberry jam butter cookies, turn very dark brown instantly to adding fo. I did a blind swirl and looks very nice! Smells pretty good too, not as strong as in wax though.
  4. You have to try fresh picked strawberry from ICS. It is so true to it's name. Big seller for me!!
  5. Ok, your right. I went to check my recipe and I half a 8lb recipe. The so called 8 lb doesn't add right either, but when I make my so called 4lb batch it almost fits in my 4lb wooden log, with a few inches to spare. Hmmm. Maybe because of the freezer paper it sits up a bit. The 8lb recipe is 24oz canola 24oz coconut oil 38oz lard 12oz lye 32 oz water It states, "makes 8lbs", I just 1/2 it. I'll try you numbers in my next batch and see, I'll have something else on hand in case we have an overflow!! Thanks so much everyone.
  6. So add mango butter and shea butter? Thanks!!!
  7. Hello!! I'm still new at cp, have a very basic recipe that works and think makes a darn good soap. I would like to add mango butter or shea butter to this recipe, but not sure how to add to my recipe. Do I just subtract from one oil and how much? Thanks. My recipe is.... 12oz canola oil 12oz coconut oil 19oz lard THis makes a 4lb batch, open to any other butters that you think would work as well. Thanks julie:D
  8. Hi, as anyone cp mimosa mandarin, and Orange chiffon cake from JS? How does the scent hold and if discolors. WOuld love it if it didn't turn brown! Thanks Julie;)
  9. Thank you Rebecca, you have been very helpful! I've registered, so I'll wait for approval and check it out. Maybe I have fo here that will not discolor and not have to get TD, for now anyway! Julie
  10. NG ginerbread is awesome and Snowtops gingerbread cookies is fantastic, Angie test all her oils in soy, so it should work for you too!!
  11. Where do you get this stuff? I can't seem to find it! Would like to try it in my CP soap. Can't get the right fo from discoloring. THanks again !! Julie
  12. Oh yes! I received that one today as my sample!! Smells great, would love to know if it turns ugly brown in cp ????
  13. Rebecca, I went to the website, not seeing the companies you said to look for and check their fo's. What is it under? ALso where in world to buy TD? I checked a few candle/soapmaking places, they don't sell, How MUCH to add per lb???? Thanks soooo much!!!
  14. Hi!! thank you for all of your replys. Yes I used B&B safe fo. I don't use olive oil or cocoa butter in my recipe. So the TD is an additive I can buy to get my soaps white? Also, I can check to see that some B&B fo won't discolor. THe supplier will give that info? Thanks again, Julie:rolleyes2
  15. Ok, I've mastered CP. Love it! My problem I'm having is my soap always discolors. I'm using my candle safe oil. I've tried strawberry crunch and pink sugar. Is there an additive that soap makers use??? Or maybe people use essential oils?? I've seen pink sugar soap and the bars are white with nice pink swirls!! Mine looks aweful brown. Can anyone pass their knowledge on this. My soap is fine otherwise, I hate to give my friends some of my ugly bars. They're probably expecting a white pretty soap!!!! UGH! Thank you!!!!
  16. Hi MissyK, I love Blackberry jam butter cookies!!!!!!! I need to order more. I hope the bc frosting is that awesome!!
  17. I have to put an order in with Daystar, so I'll try that one!! Thank you!!
  18. Anyone have a favorite. I'm using Js, and it's ok. Wondering if there is a better one that everyone likes. Thanks;)
  19. I love NG's Mrs. Claus Sugar Cookie, I use it all year long. It's hands down the best.!!
  20. I just tested this scent, not happy at all with it. I used Igi 4794 and js 50/50. Pretty much a dud! Cured for 4 days, even the cold throw isn't much either:cry2:
  21. Thanks for the replys, I think I'll try some other well talked about suppliers!
  22. Ok then, ....nothing good there huh? Moving on. lol
  23. I also use 50/50 also, have great luck with it in both cold and hot throw! I seem to have the best luck with ICS and Snowtop. ICS I love are classic cinn buns, fresh squeezed oranges, fresh picked strawberries, caramel latte, raspberry lemonade, caramelized pralines, to name a few! Snowtop has a out of this world creme brulee... WOW! Country Grove, and Caramel nut Clusters is nice also.
