Thanks Penny, I have Germall Plus liquid - do you think that would be ok to use? It has actually set quite hard and crumbly now, is this normal or have I stuffed it up Also, re cutting back on the greasiness by using cornflour as someone suggested, does anyone know how much to use and when to add it? Sorry for all the newbie questions

I think I will try this out, it sounds amazing! Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but can I use hempseed oil instead of hempseed butter, are they preety much the same *apart from consistency)?

On the rare occasion I have a problem with my soy wax tarts not melting properly - it almost looks like it has 'curdled' It takes on a dry appearance and sort of curls up at one side instead of melting into a pool of wax. If I let it cool then put another tealight into the burner it seems to then melt properly! It doesn't happy consistently with one particular fragrance and I don't know what else could be causing it. Does anyone have any ideas? Many thanks.

Hi, Thanks, I know that only flavour oils are suitable for lip balms etc but just expected them to have more of a scent. I do have fragrance oils but I only use them for candles and tarts. Ah well, I guess I will just keep experimenting with different flavour oils.

haha, it would be cheaper than a collagen injection To other people who are lip balm masters - do yours have a smell when you add the fragrance oil,maybe I am just being stupid!! :embarasse

no, just a local supplier, I am in Australia. I am just wondering how to open a pot of lip balm, sniff it and get a nice scent - watermelon or whatever, is this possible or is it really just flavour that you get form the flavour oil (sorry if this is a stupid question!) Thank you.

yes sorry, flavour oils but I can't seem to smell them, do they just taste more than they smell?

Hi, I have made some lip balms but can't seem to get a good fragrance. It smells when it is liquid form but when it hardens the smell seems to disappear. Can anyone tell me how much fragrance I should be adding? Thank you.

Hi there, I have been playing around a bit with goats milk m&p, nothing flash, just adding colours & fragrances. I have just bought some transparent M&P and was wondering if anyone had any good ideas of what to do with it - I am going to try making the chunk soaps but as I am pretty new to soap making I really have no idea what else to do with it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated Thank you.

hmmm, so maybe my oil amount wasn't too bad, is it very important for the mix to stay under a certain temp, could that be the problem?

Hi, I was working on a ratio of 15g per lb, does that sound right? Is that most likely to be my problem, too much oil? I didn't measure the temp, I just heated it until it has almost melted then kept stirring. I'm useless aren't I
