  1. Glad to hear that blest, i order me some hot apple pie from there this week, it don't seem that strong oob. but i guess it does better in the wax, ky board has a lot of good reviews on it. is why i ordered it.
  2. I will have to admit since i came on this place to learn about candle making... i have also learned about how to burn them safer and correctly. so if this theme about being safe with candles help some people to be more aware and burn candles more safety, then its a good thing. after having a glass container break on me and a tealight burner get too hot, caught it just about the time i;m sure it was going to catch a fire, i now know to trim tea light if i do burn them, and check the tealight tart burner to besure it is safe. but i don't get the part of them saying not to use during a power outage, i have always used them at that time, even kept the big fat white housewhole ones up in winter time just for when the electricty went off. but i always put them in one room on a plate or bowl and used a flashlight to go to the other rooms, now there no way anyone could just use a flashligh for days at a time, once during a heavy wet/ sleet snow storm our power was off for over a week. i think burning a candle is just like anything else... it has to be done with safety in mind. and i know lot of people don't or won't no matter what anybody says.
  3. i can't do the math thing LOL! any wax left ,,,it never gets wasted. it goes into aq smalll jar fopr me to put on warmer, an extra tart something, went i was going to school there was add-- take away and division math problems:rolleyes2
  4. Same thing here... dh's has to go to the community center & school to give speech about candles safety. but candles like everything else you have to use common sense and for those that loves to burn candles and are carefull with them shouldn't stop doing so because of others. on radio here the guy is saying to use them only for power outage and then goes on telling how to be safe with them. because of things like was talked about on here is one of the reason i'm just to scared to sell my candles and going to make tarts & wickless.
  5. yes i would think if it work in one parsoy it would any, but yes vickey is good about help and i did ask her, also checked on the fo 's ... its say throw good in soy.
  6. yikes! they are higher plus shipping, plus my local walmart there are 3 superwalmart within 45 to 1 hour drive of me, just a different county , and i have notice these jar has been in the store all year long. i think the 10 oz apothecary jar looks good too, i have notice this is what a lot of places sell their wickless candles in.
  7. ok, sounds like ky it is, since i can order it and get it in a couple oif days and got to order me some more wax anyway, for those that have used it, do you think it willl be good in kyparsoy ? that's what i have right now. thanks
  8. selling a candle with the wick in it is scarey for me, i 'm like sun i am happy with my tarts & wickless and have given them away to my kids. friends and even make some up for dh's fire dept. and i want to sell just to get a little $$ back now, i have been burning tarts for a year that i make, but my wicked candles i'm just not ready to sell them. they do fine for me because i watch them & trim. i don't know that if someone buys them would do that.
  9. welll heck, wished my GS had called grannie sooner, i just placed a order with ky.:rolleyes2
  10. I have never used nothing but the muffin pan... didn't want to buy molds in case i didn't want to keep making them but i like the look of the ridges the liner leaves on mine, they weight a ounce ... some a tad more, due to me filling it up a little more LOL! but they do look neat in a bag.
  11. Thanks everyone, my oldest son also loves cherry, he took everyone of the tarts i made from the fuel smelling one after i added vanilla to it, i'll see who is closer to me and takes moneyorder.
  12. Sharly couldn't you ask the manger at your walmart to get them? i have a small walmart here and they had them, just in the 4 in pack, i saw 12 in a box/ pack when they first came out. they are $3.57 for a pack of 4. Sharon walmart is the only place i have seen them at but some place where you buy container for candles might have them. Annie first time my 23 year old son saw the one i made with northeren star in he loved it, the blue was pretty and he don't like jj at all, which i can understand . he say cool mom!
  13. My dh is my best advertiser , when it comes to my candle making/ tarts. and i think he is now beginning to understand the wick testing, here at the house i will watch my candles and if they start smoking after 4 hours i will put them out and trim. after he has seen me do so many he is starting to understand when i tell him no i won't sell my container candles. but he has been very supportive of this new hobby of mine, and since i have been during testing for over a year... there has been a few times he asked me when i'm going be finish testing. and of course i tell him never:laugh2:
  14. my grandson wants some cherry scent, the one and only cherry scent i bought smelled like fuel untill i remelted it and added vanilla.
  15. Sun i let dh take one of my warmer and some tarts to his work place to a friend, that was my advertisment, other workers wanted them but i just been testing my wicks and wouldn't make for tarts or wickless for others, i gave the guy the tarts first ... he says how am i going melt them LOL! yes a lot of people don't know about warmers. Scrubbzzz , i won't sell my container candles yet, but i really don't know how i could test or make my tarts and wickless candles any more safe. i'm putting a note in all mine to warn people not to touch while still hot and etc..
  16. Sun my son & wife has 2 babies, hads them since birth, they are saving me jars, the babies just started eating baby food a little while ago, they are foster babies and i'm so hoping they get to adopt them:cheesy2: but i don't know if i would be allowed to sell them or if they would being babyfood jars, but i will try a couple and see.
  17. David one of mine i use is a coffee warmer also, i broke the cup to it. but the others are candle warmers from walmart the coffee mug warmer is higher watts. shary , i'll be putting in a warmer in with mine ( tarts & wickless candle) but will let people that already have a warmer just buy the tarts or candle.
  18. Sharon these jars are just a tad over 2' high with lid on, 1 1/2 ' up to edge of lid. little 0ver 3' wide.
  19. Happypaws this works as a tart burner, i got it at a thrift shop and it was still in box , but i can't remember the brand or if it even had one on it, i just saw it was a tealight tart burner and got it, i have used it just about everyday in my kitchen or dinning room, so it does fine. that why i would like to find some more of them, i 'm just afraid of the thin almost flat bowls that the dollar store has around here,
  20. scents i like them in the flat mason jar, even my son said he thought those jars was cool LOL! with the plantium lids. plus my walmart has them. Jenn the warmers are right where the candles dept is at, in my walmart. thanks everyone for the advice and encouragement.
  21. i have never sold them Laura but round here you can buy an 8 oz jj for $5, so i figure that would be the price for those i'm not sure, when i get all my scents, & wax in then i will be able to figure out what to cxharge better. also i have to test and see if the wickless candle last as long as a 8 oz wicked jj. and one more question for those that makes and sell already, do you think wax expands when it gets hot? i don't fill mine up to top because i have notice that when my ( kyparsoy ) gets hot it seems to get fuller in the jar, maybe its just me LOL!
  22. Now that is so cool looking but my problem would be i wouldn't want to burn it.
  23. I have only gave away wickless candle once but getting ready to sell a few, if they don't sell that will be ok, all my kids loves candles as well as i do. i use container wax and i put it in the flat 8 oz mason jar, its flat so the wax melt faster than it would in a big container. they are to touch too. i have printed me up a bunch of warning to stick with mine, to tell people not to touch or move while the candle / tarts are still on warmer. and to keep away from edge of tables, and out of reach of children. and to melt tarts in i use either thos flat jars or the pryex bowls, like little custard cups.
