  1. Thanks again OldGlory that#s valuable info. It is what I do now: I told them that MOQ is 5 units of 6 glasses of the same scent. Discounts for 10+ units and the again for 21+ units.
  2. I am very thankful for your advice! I always tend to give more discount than I intended to...really don't know why. This time I want to it to make sense and I want to make profit. I need to make profit. I've had much largre volume orders before and I always screwed it because my calculation was, well, ...I had no calculation. Only a rough imagination which price my customer would like. Bad idea. I have told my potential wholesale customer that I don't produce a mass product but that this is artisan handwork. If they don't want to pay for that they'll have to let it be. Shipping discount is an option for shipping within Germany, but this depends on the order volume as well. This order is supposed to go outside of Germany - the actual shipping costs apply. (You see I have finally learned a few things!) Thanks again, you are a great bunch!
  3. Hi there, I wanted to ask the experienced candlesmakers among you if you give any additional discounts if a wholesaler orders about 500 candles? Shipping costs? Or do you stick with 2-times-your-costs? After having made such disastrous mistakes the last time I had a bigger order I want to make sure I don't do it again. Thank you so much!
  4. I have tried to contact the owner of AGE, without any success. There seems to be no trace of her and I'm so sad I cannot get hold of some of her Fos....does anybody know where she got her oils from?
  5. Hi there is anyone of you making his/her own blend from C§ and other stuff in order to get a pillar wax? Thanks, ubure
  6. according to european law there is no such thing as organic bees wax (as this is no food and therefore cannot be labeled as organic) but of course you can purchase beeswax from beekeepers who work organically. You can use organic wicks as well (hemp for example) but it will be extremely hard finding a supplier for these. But on the whole beeswax is the way to go if you want to have a candle that is as natural as possible.
  7. That's weird. Have been using these oils for years and never experienced something like that. I've used the fos in soy, palm, beeswax with soy, rapeseed...always consistent and good results.
  8. always used companies that offered PayPal
  9. I can only recommend a quite pure rosmary, Herbal rosmary from CC. This is super strong and very authentic and you could mix some mint in it if you have one. Just a thought.
  10. Hi, not via AliExpress, but I have done business with a few companies on Alibaba. Always worked fine. AliExpress should work as well, I guess.
  11. Thank you all again for your honest but also kind words - I mustn't forget my customers who are loyal, friendly and who love my products (and who have repeatedly ordered since my re-opening in August/September), they keep me going. Have a nice evening (it is 8.15 pm here, it is dark - of course - cold and I'm tired.....but I'll watch Sons of Anarchy today, some eye candy for my tired eyes....*lol*)
  12. Thanks again you all - high time to rethink a lot of things. Moonshine, I have had my share of depression, anxiety and panic attacks (not because of any business, it started as ppostpartal depression, with both my boys - means 12 years of hell, more or less. Don#t ever want to go there again.
  13. Hello moonshine, so you know what I am talking about, concerning worries. I know it isn't worth it, it is just not that easy to stop it. It is like a never ending story - if one problem seems to be solved another comes up. Today I had a look at our bank account, uuuuuggggghhhhh. Really don't know how to manage it if sales go down or better said don't increase. I really don#t need bad press at the moment (but fortunately the board stauys calm, no negative postings there. Haven#t been there for a few days now and won#t go there again, but I can see that people from over there visit my shop. I'll start a Valentine's day offer today in my shop. Have a nice, worry-free day and a bit of sunshine! (We won#t have sunshine but I pray for some)
  14. Thank you so much for your views and opinions! I had time to think a bit about it all. Yesterday was a bad day, worst in years. It started with lying awake in bed since 4 o'clock in the morning, then I got a panic attack which hasn't happened for many years. It was over pretty quickly, but it almost scared me to death. IN th evening another mini attack but enough to feel so bad. It wasn't only due to the cyber bullying but I guess it was all too much yesterday. In addition to this it seems I am coming down with something gastro-intestinal (my little one has the same complaints) so... Old Glory, you said it correctly: this isn't what I want with all my heart to do. It was before all this crap started. On the other hand I started well this time and, to be honest, now it is going to run smoothly (there are other customers who aren't members of the said boards - in fact most of my current customers aren't there) and I still have to pay off some debts and current bills as well I will carry on. But I will make some decisive changes, for me and my health, e.g. reducing my time in front of the computer. Emails will be answered twice a day but I have to stop looking every two minutes. I won't work late into the nights and I will expand my delivery time from 3-5 days to 5-7 days (in most cases I am much quicker but I need to make sure that in critical times I have enough time for the orders. If it is all announced in the shop people can chose if they can wait that long and order or if they cannot. I cannot work like somebody with a staff and therefore cannot offer the same customer service like such businesses. To be honest: some day I'd love to live much simpler, trying to get the most out of our vegetable garden and fruit trees and bushes, taking care of my chicken....it won#t make any money but we could save some money by living more from the land, not having to buy all vegetables and fruit, having meat and eggs. We already do but it could be much more expanded. I always said that I'm no sales person and that is still true. doglvr, you had a great idea, thank you so much! But I have apologized so many times and I have gone through such bad times I think it is enough now. Whoever wants to bash me, fine. I don't care anymore. I cannot care anymore. Thanks!
  15. Thank you so much for your support. I'm doing my best to be worth your backing!
  16. You are probably right, I only fear it won't be so easy for me to do this. I'll try anyway. I just have to go on keeping up my business running as good as I can so nobody has cause for complaints. I'm nervous.
  17. Hello, I shaking and I'm scared. I think I have told you before that my business went down when I became ill and that I had really bad "press" in the internet on various boards. I'm working really hard to get my business running this time but the last few days I have noticed several visitors from boards that had pulled me to pieces then. So I checked and found a thread: somebody had ordered wax from me and wondered if she could use it for massage candles etc. Then somebody wrote "OMG, this is her new shop...." The next posting was "So I shouldn't buy from there, right?" I think it will all start again. They will bring it all up again and there it is, my new negative propaganda. I guess it doesn't matter that so far everybody got what he/she ordered when they hear that there were problems with orders in the past. I'm scared and I'm already thinking of giving up at once. I won't be able to endure all this once more.
  18. In my opinion it makes not much sense judging fragrances oob. You have to test them in your wax.
  19. strange, strange....like you've said I would try a bit higher percentage only to make sure.. Good luck!
  20. To be honest, I don't mess around with temps etc. I'm using Ecosoya 135 but I have had so many waxes in the past and it never was an issue. Rely on my feeling and it always turns out great. The pepper & port smells great, nothing like you have described, Ravens. Hmm, strange. Sugarfoot, did you have success with other fos? I'm asking because I remember having a hard time getting my candles to give off scent at all in the beginning, just like so many others here.
  21. Orange tea and crumpets, Vanilla Voodoo, Crushed Strawberries & Rhubarb (though this is a lighter scent), Icecrystal, Winter Woodlans Whisper, Lavender Lullaby, Herbal Rosmary, Ooey gooey caramel, Blatantly Blueberry, Seeshells, Sunflower & sea Mist .....have been using them for many years now - Lyschels oils are of the best you can find out there.
  22. I'm sitting here with my mouth open wide wondering how I could ever be able to spend thousands of dollars for attending such a show....you play in a completely different league, don't you?
  23. You can be sure these oils work fab in wax (and they are for soap and body, of course). And I know what you mean: I have to order several oils and have to decide which ones. As I still haven't managed to buy that cash cow I am quite limited....and these oils are begging "buy me, buy me...I'm sooo good!"...
  24. There is a neem fo out there? Interesting! I had some Cream cheese from Candlemakers Store and I thought it was really nice, not so sweet but nice and creamy scent. It was only an ounce or so and so I couldn't do very much testing. I guess I'll order some again.
  25. I have quite a lot of FOs from oregon and all of them are fantastic. I think you cannot go wrong with any of their FOs. They are not the cheapest out there but their oils together with the oils from CC are my best ones. My favourites: Line Dried Linen Coconut Breeze Baby Sweetheart Roses Bonsai Cool Mountain Lake (I love this fresh, clean scent!) Gee, your hair smells terrific (yeah! Love this!) Grass patch Island Lullaby Lemon-A-Peel I could go on and on. I find all of their fos are really strong (I#m using soy and have no throw problems). Have fun!
