Just because a thread is old doesn't mean it isn't good. I've been here a long time, and I've bumped my fair share of old threads. Who cares? :bump:

Anything floral. ~GAG GAG GAG~ Flower Shop from Cierra comes to mind. Reminds me of a funeral home. Yuck.

I think they look great! So what got you into foodies?
-
I've also gotten some from various suppliers that don't stick. I use the ones from BCS and never have a problem.

Try pouring your testers withOUT wicks, then use a skewer to make a hole for your wick, insert and test. If it doesn't work, it's easy to remove with needle nose pliers to put a new one in.
If you think you've found the right one, then repour your tester with the wick secured.
This is exactly what I do. Works great. :smiley2:

I agree that the one from JS is awesome!

Funny how we make things more difficult than they have to be... I read this thread cuz I was wondering the same thing. Came here hoping for all this great info, tips and secret suppliers....... and never once thought about dollar stores, :rolleyes2 lol. Of course I do realize that some may still be looking for something nicer and something they feel is trustable quality if they are selling them. But I just want to give some away for Christmas along with my tart gifts.... sooooo- thanks for the amazing and unique tip.
LOL...no problem. You gotta love these "industry secrets".

Well, if you're looking for super cheap and no shipping, Dollar Tree stores sell tealight burners.

Taken care of...great customer service.

You won't be disappointed in Vanilla Buttercreme Crunch. It's yummy.

LOL--I'm the oddball here. I don't like any of them! I think Satin Sheets smells like old lady perfume. :lipsrseal Honeymoon Romance is ok. (I think that's a KS scent...maybe not.)

With nearly all waxes, I add my FO around 175. If it is a heavier FO, like a strong cinnamon based fragrance, I'll add it at around 180-185. I've never timed how long I stir..maybe 30-45 seconds? Don't worry about your FO burning off. It won't burn off at those temps, and it isn't kept at that temp long enough to worry about anyway. HTH!

JS's best two FO's, IMO, are Chesnuts and Brown Sugar and Vanilla Buttercreme Crunch.

Well, 1.5 oz PP is 9%, and I wouldn't go above that.

I must be one of the goofiest, silliest people around, cause I warm my jars AND put my lids on as soon as my candles are set up. LOL

I never had a crusty appearance with Joy. Weird. :undecided

If you are doing clamshells, you can use your container wax. This actually makes the wax easier to break up, and the wax comes right out. I've used my container wax and a votive wax for clams, and people actually prefer the container wax. Now for tart molds, the container wax is too soft.
