  1. My husbands grandfather, heard I make candles , and gave me a big tub of beeswax, fresh from the beekeeper, he said something about letting it melt in the sun to clean it???? Does anyone know how I can get this beeswax cleaned up to the point where it is useable in a lip balm, or should I just toss it.

  2. I think the water would be a little too greasy for bubbles to survive, and you probably couldnt pack nearly enough SLSA into them to create any type of decent bubble in the first place. I made these a few weeks ago, scented lavender and LOVE THEM. They make your skin soft enough that they are worth the bubble sacrifice.

Robin I love the way you shaped yours, I never thought of using a shaped mold, those boxes are adorable.

  3. Robin, I was eyeing those lip balm filling trays on another site, they look great if you make alot of lip balm, but boy are they pricey. Considering I had to beg hubby to be able to make just a little lip balm for myself , and finally order the tubes while he wasnt looking, it will be a while before I need one.

Here is a place that sells a smaller mold, 42 tubes for $150 Canadian, shipping included.

A friend suggested using a little syringe like you use to give a baby medicine, you can probably find them at walmart or the drug store.

BTW, that site has the cheapest price I have seen on Canadian lip balm tubes ,thank you :)

  4. It looks like you have an upland mold. I just bought a log mold from them but I think I might try a slab mold too.

Let me know how you like it.

I LOVE My upland slab mold, I got the one with the cut lines and it works great. I have the 12 bar 1.5 inch and the 48 bar mold.

  5. This is the Vanilla Soap I made last night (very late last night much to my husbands dismay). I cheated , rather then doing a blind swirl I added a teensy bit of coco powder to my scented portion, just enough that I could tell the difference, since it was going to darken anyways. Cut it about an hour ago, but my camera batteries are dead, so you guys are giong to have to wait for those pics :)

  6. The Mini muffin liners you pour into I found at Walmart in the bakeware section. If you want to wrap them in shiney foil, get foil candy wrappers. I got mine in a baking specialty store near the cake and candy decorating supplies, This was at Bulk barn, not sure if you have them in your area. if you want to buy them online, search for Candy Foils, I got lots of hits.

  7. Wow, are you sure you used a container wax, container waxes usually stay soft and ahere to the sides of the jar, where as yours seem to have shrunk. Please let us know what wax it is that you are using, it will help us help you. Different waxes can hold differnt amounts of FO. The suppliers site usually gives the the load limits for the wax.

  8. Heh, most of the febreeze commercials are funny, I love the one with the stuffed animals face down on the carpet after she sprays it, but that one dosnt sound good. Febreeze is nice to remove the smell of baby urine from my matress and couch, but thats about it, the smell of it dosnt last more then 10 minutes. Is this the fabric scent remover or the air freshener?

  9. Angela, the little black cases are plastic, they have container wax poured in them and velco on the back. You simply remove the little black case from the bag, open the flip up lid, smell it and velcro it back on the bag. When i used to have mine, I had the bag labled with all the scents in alphebetical order, that way people knew where to return them to. Was a great set.

Candle Man, let me know if you and your sewing machine come up with anything, velcro strips and 1 ounce seamless tins might be an option. The bag basically had two folding boards that went inside, these had the containers attached to it.
