  1. But, theoretically, if there were a lotion that were Ultra Moisturizing, absorbed quickly, was silky but not greasy, and lasted for 24 hours, most people would agree it would be the "perfect" lotion. The problem is, though, it appears that most of those qualities are mutually exclusive.
  2. Come on, folks. Let's get this party started. Let's start with butters, then, once we figure out what we want in terms of butters, let's work our way into the oils. Let's go for a high end, luxury body lotion here, everyone. What butters would you use? What are our options and what are the pros and cons? -Shea Butter -Cocoa Butter -Almond Butter -Avocado Butter -Mango Butter Thoughts? Am I missing some nice, high end options?
  3. Ok, my previous thread was deleted, so, let's restructure this as strictly a "for information purposes only" type of thread. If you had a "perfect" hand and body lotion, what would some of the properties be (moisturizing, non greasy, etc)? In addition, what would some of the ingredients be (Jojoba Oil, Shea Butter)?
  4. Anyone sampled all three bases? Would love your thoughts on each one. Pros and Cons?
  5. Was looking for some opinions on some of their lotion bases. Anyone who has sampled them, I would love some feedback. I ordered some samples and am waiting for them to arrive.
  6. I love the scent. Didn't really comment on the line, although, at a retail price of $14 for an 8 oz hand cream, I wouldn't say they are low end. I would say they are a midrange line. Definately not ultra luxury, but, definately not low end, considering you can find hand creams for 1/4 that at your local CVS pharmacy. They have lower price points than, say, Crabtree, but, I wouldn't call them low end.
  7. Nobody else knows of any nice strong Mangos with Coconut and Vanilla Bean?
  8. Ok, I'm now on a mission. I smelled a body lotion from Camille Beckman. It's their Mango one but according to their description, it has Mango, Cocounut and Vanilla Bean. This is the most heavenly, exotic Mango I've ever smelled. Does anyone have any suggestions for someone carrying a good one similar to this?
  9. Is that "Glycerin" feel that you are referring to that very oily/greasy feel? There is a line called "Camille Beckman" which is the top selling personal care line in private retailers, in this country, which is most famous for what they call their "Glycerine Hand Therapy" which is kind of a thick cream, which to my very uneducated eye, seems VERY greasy/oily.
  10. Anyone have any personal favorites? Would love to hear them, and some reasons. What makes a great lotion base? Quick absorbing? Moisturizing? Non greasy? Some of these characteristics are almost mutually exclussive aren't they? Like, the more highly moisturizing, normally, the more greasy it feels. Just would love some thoughts.
  11. None of those ingredients, for the most part, match up with what the Body Shop lists.
  12. I got a price list from them yesterday and, at more than $1 with their pallet pricing, they seem high. Specialty Bottle seems to have better pricing, although I've not yet sampled either company's product to determine how they compare in terms of quality.
  13. From what I've read on here, though, isn't the Cyclo for body splashes/body sprays? Don't all commercial perfumes/colognes (name brands like Dior, Gucci, Chanel, etc, etc, etc), all contain the perfumer's alcohol? Every perfume/cologne (different from a body splash) label I've ever read listed alcohol as one of it's ingredients.
  14. That's far too much fragrance oil. Even eau de parfums don't normally have that high a concentration of fragrance oil.
  15. Looking for some feedback on these folks. They can be found here http://www.denhamsnatural.com/ They seem to have a ton of different bases, etc.
  16. Looking for brushed aluminum bottles, with atomizer spray (either in the matching brushed aluminum, or possibly in black plastic), in pallet quantities. Anyone know of a good source?
  17. Not all wick stickums are created equal. Quite a few of them are complete and utter garbage (trust me, I've tried them). Unless you ordered them from BCN or BCS, you probably got the garbage ones. I'm willing to bet my life that, if they came out when you poured wax, then they are NOT from BCN or BCS. Try those, and you won't be disapointed.
  18. I agree on the point about Tyler, but, that's more a result of using three wicks that are FAR too big. I think if they wicked down (several sizes), they would be FAR better served. However, it's hard to argue with success, as they are one of the fastest growing young candle companies in the country, and, their candles throw extremely well without too much soot (not sure how they don't put out more soot considering how over-wicked they are).
  19. Great. Those will be my next tests. Any ideas on what sizes from the CD and HTP's fall between the Eco .5 and Eco 1? Just looking for a starting point for testing.
  20. Most tureens this size I've seen have been triple wicked. Three small wicks should provide enough heat. How long are you allowing this to go before determining that the double wicking used isn't quite getting there?
  21. Eco's seem to work VERY well for me in terms of burning oils that are otherwise very difficult to burn, however, their limitation in terms of size variety really has me down. Eco-1 seems to be too big and Eco .5's seem to be a HAIR too small (double wicked). Any suggestions on wicks that are as close to ECO's as possible in terms of composition?
  22. I know that about 1 ounce per gallon is the standard, similar to 1 ounce per pound of wax in candles, but, what is acceptable? Is 1.5 to 2 ounces acceptable? Is it too much?
  23. Anyone know who might manufacture these?
  24. Anyone know a good place for lotion tubes? You know the kind. The ones that have a closure on the end where, when you open it, you squirt out the lotion and when it is closed, acts like a base (so it kinda sits upside down)? I've found a ton of plastic bottles with dispenser pumps, but I can't for the life of me find any of these.
