  1. Sorry I wasn't even thinking!:embarasse The jar is 3 1/2 in. I'm using ecosoya pure soy. 9% fragrance load. Thanks Rebecca
  2. I used a HTP 1313 wick in this jar and it is still not large enough. Anyone have any experience with this jar? I don't think it is big enough to double wick. I'm at a loss. Any help would be really appreciated!!! http://www.northstar3c.com/cgi-bin/shop2/cp-app.cgi?usr=51H917307&rnd=872805&rrc=N&affl=&cip=71.33.25.68&act=&aff=&pg=prod&ref=34&cat=10&catstr=HOME:10
  3. I just use a clean dry dishcloth. It works very nice.
  4. I am very frustrated. Why would this person sell them as wax dipping bears. Sorry just venting!!! Thanks for your response.
  5. I use 2 labels (not counting the caution label on the bottom). I put one on the lid with the company name and the scent, and one around the jar for The Company info. I use 3 different size labels for the jar and one round. Rebecca
  6. I am just wondering, does everyone change the names of all their scents? I'm pretty new and I want to start right. Thanks for any advice! Rebecca
  7. HI, I just got some bears off of e-bay that were listed as wax dipping bears, well they are filled with beens. I thought you were only suppose to dip cotton stuffed animals. What might happen If I did dip these? Do they hold the wax good? Any help will be appreciated!!! TYIA Rebecca
  8. Fern Marie, Thanks for all your help. I really like this wax too. I have only tried 4-5 different waxes but I like this best. It's funny you mention rinsing jars, my DH just suggested that maybe that could be the problem. Guess I shoulda listened to him huh...LOL. Thanx again!!! Rebecca
  9. Hey Settrick, I use the hexagon jars and I was getting a lot of air. You might want to try pouring very slowly. And cover them with something, while they cool. I don't know if this will help, but it has helped my last 2 or 3 batches. Also I use Ecosoya pure soy!
  10. I did a batch last night and cooled them on the stove with my cake taker lid over them, WOW no air bubbles and no sink holes. What doesn't make any sense is that I was doing it this way before and getting bad bubbles, thats why I started putting them in the oven. Maybe I was pouring too fast before? Hopefully it wasn't just this FO that I used last night. Do You guys pre heat your jars, and at what temp do you pour usually? Thank You so much for the help all!!!
  11. Fern-Marie What temp do you scent your wax at if you pour at 130ish? Thanks Rebecca
  12. I seem to have my wicking down pretty good so far. I'm using HTP wicks and so far I haven't run into any major problems. I did have to really wick up from the suggested sizes though. Rebecca
  13. The residue is a little more than a thin film, but it isn't a lot of wax like in tunneling. It's almost a wax film, little spots of wax. Does that make any sense? Any way thanks for your replies, and advice. Rebecca
  14. Ok I have been using ecosoya pure soy and I was just wondering if some of my problems are normal or if there is some thing I am doing wrong or need to change? Also using mostly 9% fragrance load. First I am having a lot of air bubbles. I have tried pouring at all temps between 125 and 150. And I am cooling in the oven(off of course) Should I try pouring hotter? Second, I seem to have a lot of residue on the glass once the candle has burned down. Is this a normal characteristic of Soy or is it something I may be doing? Third, when I do cool in the oven I seem to be getting sink holes on some batches. And still get a few air bubbles (although they arent bad, mostly at the top of the glass) These are my main concerns for right now. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Rebecca
  15. Can anyone tell me where you can get more info on making these firestarters?TYIA for any help!! Rebecca
  16. I got mine at BCN. I really love it. It is worth the money. They even offer one for double wicking.
  17. Where do the Tri State dyes come from? And also do they smell?
  18. Can anyone give me their opinion on which is better in Soy wax, powdered or liquid dyes?
  19. I don't think it is the FO, it is happening to almost all of my candles. It may be my wax.
  20. You are so right!!! I was looking at some Yankee candles just today and they looked horrible (at least to me now that I make candles), wet spots, frosting, etc.
  21. Thanks Kaybee23. I appreciate your help. I was worried I was doing something wrong.
