Mine too Sara. It was so funny....after I steeped it and cooled it down to mix with the lye, I took what was left over and had my tea and cooking soap with it at the same time. I think I'm on a tea feddish cause I made more Green Tea & Aloe on yesterday...came out beautiful. LOL

Robin, you're too much! LOL Different strokes I guess. I really do like the HP better. I did a rooibos tea n' honey yesterday. I loved the color of it until I added the honey. It started out being a nice, reddish color but then it turned light brown. :rolleyes2 I look forward to starting over...this time w/o the honey. LOL

Like Rena and TexasBrat, I do the HP too. It's not necessarily the easiest process to do but it's one that I've come to enjoy. Yes, after the cook, you have to make sure there are no air bubbles, so I tend to put it on the floor and bang it a couple times. As far as texture, I like how mine comes out...it looks creamy, the tops are a little rough, but I think that adds to the handcraftedness of it, and I can even do swirls. The tutorial is great. HTH

Well, I've never tried KY Puresoy so I can't offer help there, but I do use Millcreek and I'm happy with it...fragrance loads are about 7-9% depending on which f.o., very minimum with frosting and colors well. HTH:)

I have to just brag on a fellow CT member. When I posted my lotion making woes a few weeks ago, you guys were so helpful about encouraging me and helping me. Well, right after that, I got a few PMs with great recipes to try, and one of them was from Purple Lilac. She gave me some really good tips, including details on every step! I mentioned that I was going to have to wait until I bought some e-wax to try the recipes, and lo and behold, guess what arrived on my doorstep via Priority Mail a few days later? A box containing, not just e-wax, but citric acid, jojoba oil and glycerin. Isn't that amazing?

So, I have to give her TONS of credit for my first successful batch of lotion! Whee!

Hey Landa! Join the club sweetie! LOL I was making a lavender/oatmeal soap and swirled it to perfection when, all of a sudden, I noticed the oil still awaiting to be added. Ya talk about mad! And, yes, like you, I had to add it and stir, but hey, I got over it, you will too. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

That looks like a good recipe. You may want to try a little beeswax to help firm it up a bit.
