  1. An efficient way to make the imprints would be to have the image made of iron or steel, as long as it's magnetic (capable of sticking to a magnet) it would work. It would need to be curved of course, for round molds.

You could use either tin or aluminum molds. Just place the metal tree, dragonfly, horse whatever inside the mold, then place a fairly strong magnet on the outside of the mold to hold it in place while you pour and until the candle hardens.

When you take the candle out of the mold just remove the magnet from the outside and the embossing piece (if that's what ye want to call it) just falls right out of the candle once it out of the mold.

These should last for many, many uses and the only real expense would be having them made and shaped in the beginning.

This might just work but, you would need the piece curved to match the curve of round molds.

  2. I'm not getting into all this mess.

If you look at the site I posted you will find that size to be 4 fluid oz's, so that would be approx. 3-3.5oz's of wax.

BTW - Why measure when you can find it like I did. If you understand wax, then you know the container measurement is most likely in fluid oz's, so it would hold less than that in wax.

Some people try to make things so complacated.

  3. Thanks for making the mystery even clearer.
So, I wait atleast 24 hours until it's totally cured and wax is hard?
Trying to figure the definition of "setting up". Is that right after the wax has turned white about an hour after the pour or is setting up considered the 24 hour wait time when it is totally hard? I Get the part about poking holes to look for air pockets.
Just trying to figure out at what time do I poke??

What is the weapon of choice to do that?
I see bamboo skewer, hanger.. and did the thump test on the testers today. You all are great and can't relay enough how much I :highfive: appreciate it.

Yes, after the candle is completely cold, is when you poke for air pockets, in soft container wax. I use 12" long doll needles (I got at Hancock's Fabrics) but you can also use nitting neddles and the others you mentioned.

  4. Candleman, would you mind sharing where you purchase those labels? TIA Portia

They are vinyl labels and I print them myself. They are 1.67" circle & 24 per sheet.

The picture does not show them justice because that is a scanned image. In real life they are crisp and clear on a white label.

If anybody would be interested, I can print you 1 full sheet of labels as many as you want, PM me.
