  1. I have had anhydrous salve type things get that rusty ring thing too. I think it must be the EO's they contain. I plan on staying away from the tins in the future because of this potential problem. It's a shame because they are so cute looking as apposed to plastic jars!
  2. I think that those in-shower body lotions are the coolest!! Like the ones from Olay and B&BW. I still have not found a recipie to make those so I just keep buying them. I don't know how popular they are but I sure think that they are new and exciting! BTW if anybody has a recipie for one that they want to share please, please send me a pm !!
  3. Thanks guys!!! I bet I will be making alot more soap now that it will be so much easier. I really do hate lining the molds because I am still pretty new to CP so it was taking me a long time to fold them correctly etc...
  4. Hi Carrie, The mini all plastic is a small slab mold (it was Item number: 220024327244) but your welcome to email the seller to see if the have any others- there ID is "pdxryn". Good Luck! Lara
  5. :whoohoo: I am so excited and had to tell some people who actually cared. BF was very unenthusiastic to say the least. Any way that was a great score at $20 each for the Kelsei's Creations 3 pound plastic log and the mini all plastic. Plus shipping is only $5 each. I love ebay!! I can't wait to try these out. I don't sell so these smaller molds are perfect for me. I am so sick of having to line my wooden molds!! Sorry to brag I am just so happy because i have been wanting new molds for a while!! Lara
  6. How about a liquid soap type product like a hand soap, shower gel or cream body wash?
  7. Oh wow, those iced tea soaps are so cute!! I also love the pink color of the other soap.
  8. I love to use honey powder mixed with goats milk powder and collidal oatmeal powder to make a dry facial treatment mask. I actually use a version of that on my face every night after I wash it. Mix it with a bit of water and apply it to your face. It does not make your skin sticky or anything so you just have to rinse afterwards (not soap again). You could also add in things like almond meal, oat flour, aloe powder, allantoin, powdered herbs, etc... HTH. Lara
  9. I usually use a mix of about 50% sea salt, 5% dendritic (to hold the FO), 15% epsom, 10% regular grocery store salt, 4% borax (to soften the water), and 16% baking soda (as a bulk filler).
  10. The real microdermabrasion that they do at the derms office with a special machine uses aluminum oxide crystals. Some of the "at-home" scrubs use these, while others use something else. I bought a half gallon of the crystals to use at home and they are great. Its obviously not as good as when they use the machine at the derms office but for the greatly reduced price of doing it yourself at home manually, its good enough for me. I can't remember the site I got them from, but if you do a google serch I bet its not hard to find the grains in bulk. Make sure they are the cosmetic grade kind. Just mix them with a bit of your regular cleanser and gently scrub your face. But be careful because they are very powerful and you can easily scrub too much and injure your skin. HTH
  11. I like the cheesecake FO from Millcreek.
  12. From what I remember it was only when using epsom salts, but I could be mistaken. Luckally, I have personally never had this happen to me.
  13. I make face and body butters all the time with just a mix of oils and butters. If it was mixed while at the liquid stage it will solidify all together. Sometimes if it gets warm out a very small layer of oil will appear on the top but its nothing major. It depends how much oil you add to the butters wheather it will be liquididy enough to go into a lotion bottle. There are probably recipies out there but I just go by trial and error because I like to use my own combination of butters and oils. Also, I have read you can add a bit of Dryflow to the mix to make it less greasy but I have not tried it yet. HTH Lara
  14. I just use tap water. I add edta to my soap so the minerals would get tied up in that anyways.
  15. Wow, those swirls are great. Althought I usually add the FO along with my oils, before I did that I would leave my FO cuppie inside the actual prepared mold. That way, If I went to pour the soap I would see it in there and realize that I forgot to add it. That was a great tip I picked up on the dish- can't remember from who though.
  16. Oh my gosh, Thats one of the coolest MP soaps I have ever seen!!! Those would definatly be a good seller!
