  1. Glad you had a great day! I love it when someone has a great day! Mine market was slower than normal but there is a lot of things going on in the area this weekend and I think they were at that.
  2. Lorrie they look great! The Lavender, Patchouli and Cedarwood sounds interesting! LuminousBoutique Sounds like you are going to ne busy also.
  3. Tonight I made Citrus and Mediterranean Herb (This one is a great scent from Sockmonkey!) and Christmas Slender which is a blend of fruits, spices and a hint of pine. I wish I had my camera at the shop, the red and green swirls came out so nice! I will take pics tomorrow. Tomorrow I am making a few fall scents, Cranberry Spice, Pumpkin with pumpkin puree, my favorite and maybe some Jello soap. Hope you have a great soaping weekend!
  4. I really can't help you too much but if you do a search on this forum using "wholesale accounts" with the quotation marks you will come up with tons of do's and don't's . I fell into the few wholesale accounts I have but I make soap not candles. I picked mine up at shows. I feel though if you want something bad enough you have to go for it. It maybe hard at first but after a few times it will get easier.
  5. No I don't think it will work as full water as it has too high of an alcohol content in it. It would definitely cause a volcano. I think maybe 1/3 of it. The customer says it has a clay & tea tree in it also. It smells like the witch hazel and tea tree oil and something kind of sweet, lol. What ever that means. I guess it is a acne soap she used to buy from a soapmaker a long time ago. I am thinking may be neem also? Oh My that would really be a stinky smelling soap!
  6. Does anyone make it or have you tried it? I have a request to make it? The info I have found isn't much. Thanks!
  7. It looks great! I love your swirls! I haven't had too much fading with Pop colors so hopefully it will stay for you. Cut pics too please!
  8. My Farmers market was a little slow the past 2 weeks. Not as big of a crowd and the weather was perfect! Sales were down about 10%. I know it is vacation time for a lot of people and also school things need to be bought. Maybe their gardens are doing well so no need to come down. But in the past few years there was a slump during the 1st 2 weeks in Aug. The Store has been a little busier than normal though . I guess I shouldn't complain!
  9. Here is the pictures of soaps I did one That is whiter is with Oil dispensable TD, scent Spearmint and eucalyptus. The other is sane recipe no TD added with Amazing Grace FO (it does not discolor at all) This is after a 10 day cure. It certainly helps with the oil dispensable TD.
  10. I didn't get anything made today . But I shouldn't complain, the store was too busy this afternoon and had the farmers market this morning. I did manage to get my front window changed snd it does look so pretty. Tomorrow I will buckle down!! Scented I did a mix yesterday of Cranberry spice and Candy corn because I didn't have enough of them to make a batch. I love it!! I also had a little of Autumn Harvest and pumpkin and mixed them It is really nice. More of a pumpkin/ spicy vanilla to my nose but it is not that great.
  11. Sounds nice. In fact I have about about an ounce of oakmoss, I knew I was saving it for something, LOL.
  12. I am hoping to make a few sandalwood blends. I love Sandalwood Rose and Sandalwood Vanilla. Anyone have any sandalwood blend suggestions for me to try? I also am starting my fall line but don't know what to start with.
  13. OMG It is beautiful!! Nice black and the swirls are great! It's great that you are back soaping!
  14. It does get smelly if you over heat it. I always melt other hard oils and then mix it in. If it doesn't melt all the way, I heat it on low heat until it does.. If it had a strong smell before you melted it then it was rancid.
  15. Anyone have a report for this week? I do! In fact 2 of them, one Saturday and one for Sunday. I had the 2nd week of my Farmers Market and it was better than last week. It was HOTTTTT!!! 99 and full humidity. I did better than last week and quite a few repeat customers from last week. That's what I am looking for. I really want to draw them into my shop about a mile away. Hook them at the market it and reel them into the shop during off times. Best sellers this week. Chocolate soap, Peaches and Pomegranate, yogurt and mens soaps. My herbal balm sold quite well. This week we had a violinist playing right next to me but I was to busy with customers to fall asleep otherwise I would have. There was a new vendor there this week. She had homemade loose teas. OMG I was in tea heaven. I got a lavender earl gray which made the best Iced tea I have ever had. And a strawberry Daiquiri black tea which I have yet to try. Sunday I did a Antique car show with a flea market. My SO does them with his junk and car parts, I set up my soap. I always do great at these, the other vendors booths smell like oil, fuel, or grease. We make the men feel guilty for leaving their wives home and they need to bring her home a gift or we tell them their SO's are tired of them stinking like cars and they need to clean up their act. I works every time. My SO is great at doing this. LOL. It was very hot, packed up just in time, As we drove away it started to pour. Music was great all 50's style with a great DJ! Sold lots of Mechanic Soap, Mens scents, and florals. Hope you had a great Market or show this week!
  16. Everyone has their work cut out for them this weekend! I just was able to make a lemon soap and played with some shealoe. Made a nice thin body butter with it and scented it Pina Colada Scented did you get yours made? CandleMama, I never tried Moonworks FO's. How are they in CP? The Scarlet Moon sounds interesting. Salt bars are not that hard to make. You just have to cut them at the right time. NancyT your lotion and body butter scents sound great 2 of my favorites.
  17. I have a pretty busy weekend with my Market tomorrow AM and a Car show Sunday but I have to make soap! I have some African Black Soap that I need to use. I am going to try to do my regular soap recipe and mix it in half and half. I have to do restock of Jewelweed soap and my herbal soap. I want to do a layered soap, I have never done one before, thinking of doing lemon meringue.
  18. I did not get a chance to take it out of the mold tonight at the shop. Actually I was getting ready to and the store got busy, had to pack the car for the market tomorrow and left. I got home and remembered it. I am too tired to go back there. Tomorrow I promise. I did uncover it it looked pretty good though. We will see tomorrow now that it is umcovered and the air hits it.
  19. I have not read all the pages but it will certainly close my store down. The labeling of products is insane! Did you see the list for water alone? lol. We will need a label 10 feet long just to list ingredients, never mind any adverse effects of each ingredient. The testing of each ingredient alone will cost a fortune. In the Essential U statement she said something to the effect Isn't this a free country with privacy laws, etc, well it certainly doesn't look like it to me if we have to list all suppliers we use and where everything we use comes from. I could go on and on about this. Even the "Big Guys" will have to go up in price just to comply with it. I have to laugh at there will be no fee for those making under a milloin $$ a year, that;s becuse they won't be in business any longer! I know there needs to be something in place but this certainly is not what is needed!
  20. I used the oil soluble titanium in a batch today. It was nice and white going into gel. I will see tomorrow how it does. It am trying it with a non discoloring FO but oils were a greenish yellow, that I normally would get a creamy color with
  21. It does look like the lemon darkened it. I think the only way to get pure white soap is to make it with only lard or shortening, coconut oil, pko. I have also tried Titanium with no luck added about a TBL pp, it does help a little. I just got in the oil soluble titanium today, I will try that tomorrow.
  22. They are beautiful! I love the Oakmoss one. I love that scent also.
  23. You need an oil soluble colorant, glycern is not. Like these http://www.tkbtrading.com/category.php?category_id=41
  24. Everyone has their own opinion on this. I like unrefined shea for most of my products but I do use refined for somethings like soap. I suggest you try both and see what works for you. I use only unrefined cocoa butter.
