  1. Ok, I am fed up:( I am 31 yrs old and have been breaking out like a teenager the past month or so and I am in need of some Good Acne CP Soap... I know a few of you talented ladies on here sale this kind of soap, so I thought I would post here for anyone is willing to sale me a bar :D If you don't mind, please list what all ingredients is in your soap also :)

    Thanks,

I sooooo hear ya, same here only I'm 35 and my neck & back have broken out-MY NECK DAMMIT, pfft!!!!!:angry2:

  2. I agree lye heavy or not congrats on your first batch. This is something I'd like to try down the line too. I'm stuck in the world on cream soaping right now and LOVING IT!!!

All these processes take time and practice, so hang in there. I bet with a few more batches under your belt you'll be on your way to mastering it (and loving it).

I wanted to do cream soap but decided liquid soap would be the lesser evil of the two, and after my 5th FAILED batch of LS, it'll take me quite a while to be brave enough to try cream soap! I am fine until the diluting stage-goes right down the drain from there(no pun intended, lol).

  3. I did neutralize with borax. I didn't run the recipe through soapcalc- figured I'd stop procrastinating and just do it to get a feel for it. Things do make more sense after making the first batch(Failor's book was confusing to me). I have been trying to formulate a recipe to try again and I have noticed that Soapcalc & Summer Bee Meadow calc differ when I run the same recipe through.

Well here it is, my first batch of liquid soap, it's almost a week old and still rather cloudy (not sure if you can tell in the pic). Tried a little of it last night and was really harsh, almost left my hands sticky- I hope it mellows out.:o

  5. Not sure wtf happened, I paniced and threw it away.:( I let it sit to dissolve all night and all morning-until almost lunchtime. It was still not all the way dissoved, had thick hard sticky chunks still. After reading more I am kicking myself for chucking it, I think I should have put the crockpot on low and see if that melted the chunks? I was a dark amber color, kind of like maple syrup. Should I leave the crock pot on low when I dissolve it? Wow this is alot more difficult then CP for me.

  6. Ok so here's what I've come up with & I undecided on which one I prefer. My kids are no help, I need some adult feedback. I like the way Soap Central sounds, but I wonder if that would limit me to just soaps.....or should I go with Outta the Blue, I like that name also. Argh I am almost at the point to flip a coin to decide, lol. Opinions would be greatly appreciated.

  7. I omit sugar when I use honey mainly out of fear of over heating the soap. I do use a lot of honey by comparison to what others here have said; I use 2 Tb, per lb.

Do be warned. Your soap will probably turn a bright florescent orange! Don’t panic… by the next day it will “fade” to a dull brown, and a week later will start really fading to a pleasant sort of buff colored brown.

Ok I made a few batches today with honey & sugar. I mixed the honey in my oils and then added my lye solution, it did thicken up rather quickly, but I didn't notice any funky color change. Grrr I am going to be p*ssed if the soap turns brown.
