  1. hello. About the candles meted using for lotion. I know a lot of people who make soy candles and some people use the all natural soy wax in their lotion making. I would not melt the candles and use them for lotion because most of the scents that are used for the candles are a manufacturers grade and the scents that are used for the lotions have to be a cosmetic grade according to the FDA. You might run into liability problems if you use the wrong grade of scent for lotions or anything applied to the skin. Hope this helps.
  2. Hello there. About the dipped bears. Please don't laugh but I am a nurse and the first time I made one of these I felt really really bad because I used a pair of tongs and it smooshed the face in. I almost never did it again. But I learned. I just use a pair of tongs and hold the bear above my melting pot until the wax stops running. I never even touch the bear ubtil I lay it on the rack and pick out the fur. I use the soy wax only and it washes down the sink nicely because it dissolves in hot water. Just an idea. Hope this helps!
  3. Hello there. I have all different sizes available in cases of 12 starting at $16.00 + shipping (this is for the 10 oz. flat lid ones). If this isin't what you are looking for let me know I might have them. Thanks so much,
  4. I don't know of the soy wax your using and I have never used the HTP wicks either. I always use Eco Soy Advanced or another blend of different soy waxes I have. I also use Eco wicks and I have a great scent throw. Just an idea....You almost just have to do some extensive experimenting to find the wicks and wax that works great for you. Good luck!
  5. Hello there. I use Eco Soya CB Advanced for some of my container candles. With the frosted jars I use, I only use a special blend of soy wax that I get right from my jar supplier. They have formulated a soy wax that works awesome with their jars. I bought a 10 lb. sample from them and they also give you 4 of any of their jars, mix n match for free. If you want additional sets they are like $20.00 a set. I bought 1 free set, 1 additional set, and the 10 lb. soy wax sample for like $40.00. They are awesome their. The lady I spoke to is Paula and I think their wax is the best with their jars. www.thejarstore.com Check them out and tell them Tiffnie from Scents-N-Treasures LLC sent you. She'll know who I am.
  6. Hello. Thanks for asking about the fund raiser programs. We are working on 2 fund raiser programs but nothing is set in stone right now. We use only frosted jars for our container candles and we do sell a lot of candle pis....mostly the 5 and 9 inch ones. You can go to my web site (which I am still building) and if you see something you are interested in just drop us an email. Thanks
  7. Hey tucker don't give up something you enjoy so much. i am an Orthopaedic nurse and I see patients with total and partial hip replacements all the time. You'll be just fine to return to this awesome hobby soon!
  8. Hey there. I agree with the pervious posts. The vybar does NOTHING for Eco Soya Waxes. I use 10% scent in my soy waxes and I use the eco wicks as well. I found the 2 combined creates an awesome scent throw. I have the give the candles away to people to test them because from making them all day long, I can't tell the difference.
  9. You are most welcomed. I know how frustrating it can be to get the right effect. You have to whip the wax fast an then pour because it sets up quick. Make sure the beaters are heated too so they wax won't stick to them as much! Good Luck!
  10. Hey there. I have some really awesome scents. I have tried many many kinds for my soy wax and the kinds I buy are the best! We have more than 1000 scents and it takes about 1 oz. per lb of my Ultra Concentrated ones or I have Extreme Concentates that it only takes about 3/4 oz. in most soys. I don't have my new web site fully loaded but I am working on it. If there is a scent you would like a sample of let me know and I probably have it. www.scentsntreasures.com.
  11. Hello there. I use Eco wicks for my pillars. I really like they way they burn and the fact that they are almost self-trimming. here is where I get mine from at the moment http://www.lonestarcandlesupply.com/wicks.html you can buy a sampler kit of 5 of all of the Eco wick for like $6.75 plus shipping. Let me know what you think. You can reach me here www.scentsntreasures.com .
  12. Oh I see. I have made some with whipped soy wax and I think they are awesome. I did find if I whip the wax it makes it fluffier and sometimes the wicks stand up without a problem. Also you might try pouring the wax at a cooler temp. That help me when I first started to make the candle pies.
  13. I agree with crafty1. I ONLY use the soy wax flakes. They are very easy to use and weigh. I do like Eco Soya, which is one of the more expensive waxes, and it depends on the scents you use. I have found awesome scent throw with my scents. www.scentsntreasures.com . I am woking on the list because we have more than 1000 to list...whew!!! Lots and lots of work. All the best in your candle endeavours!
  14. Hey there. I always pour my gel at about 100 - 120 degrees and then the embeds don't melt...not until the candle is lit anyways. Hope this helps
  15. What kind of candle pies are you making? Usually I drill holes in the pie crust so I can stick the wicks thru. Than I pour a littel bit of gel in the bottom and then the fruit and then more gel over the fruit. With all the embeded fruit the wicks will stay up without a problem. Good luck!
