I haven't tried this scent but you might want to mention that to Loren,he'd be happy to help. I did noticed 'The Great Pumpkin' is not skin safe so one would think since they're both has a pumpkin scent in it they would not be skin safe. Perhaps it has a touch of clove scent in it which could be the culprit?

I'm using 1 1/2 x 2 rectangle labels which fit nicely with the size of the jar. Let's see if I can post a pic here as I've never done it before.

Hi, I came across a bath salt recipe that calls for kukui oil but now I cannot find it. I wrote it down on a piece of paper (big mistake) and it disappeared among the piles of art,craft,school,Guides,Brownies & Sparks papers that MY (not me,tee hee!) four precious children keep around! All I can remember is epsom salt, dead sea salt, kukui oil, baking soda?, and a couple of other smaller ingredients.

Does anyone have one similar to it?? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I use HTP 73s for my mason jars and they burn fine.

THANK YOU Amy Sue! I was afraid to tell what method I was using before which was washing them by hot soapy water. Of course there were very very little wax on them but it was such a pain in the butt not to mention time consuming and alot of hand cream for my poor hands. (I hate rubber gloves so I don't wear them). I heeded their advice and tried the oven method and boy I tell you it's soooo much easier and and definitely saves alot of time. Why I didn't think of that before is beyond me because that's pretty close to how I clean my pour pot by wiping it out with paper towels when it's still warm after use.

I had bought some unopened fragrance oils (3 bottles) from Ebay awhile ago and I really like their scents. I was going to order some more from 'Scent It' website but really cannot afford the prices there. I haven't found any reviews on this supplier nor they're on the list of suppliers here. Are they not reputable enough? Has anyone else ordered from them?

CB stands for Container Blend which is used for containers and CB135 is 'Container Blend Meltpoint 135'. Ecosoya PB is Pillar Blend which is used for votives and pillars.

Although I don't use those fragrance oils, they are very good from what I've heard.

Hello and welcome! I use EcoSoya (which IS an excellent quality) and you do add the fragrance right before you pour (110-130), just make sure that they mixed well in the last minute. As for hot throw it all comes down to the type of fragrance oil you're using and how much you're adding. Just make sure it's a good quality brand. One oz should be enough for every lb of wax but sometimes some fragrance oils require a little more (or even less) than others.

Did you ordered new wax? Perhaps the wax is different this time even if you ordered the same brand but I've heard sometimes they would change the formulation which could change the results of a finished candle.

So basically there are some faulty ones that we have no control over? This is going to be a pain in the butt not knowing which one will break when selling to customers. I feel like I have to warn them which of course would not look good for me.

I know this seems like a silly question and I cannot find any answers in the search but what do you guys normally do when cleaning aluminum molds especially votives. Is there an easier and quicker way of cleaning them when you have a large quantity?

Hi, I have a whole case of 50 Amber PET bottles with the black spray pumps and out of 20 bottles I made for room sprays about 6 of the pumps have broken. This is my first time using these bottles. I have purchased them off Ebay and I can't find the supplier since it's been awhile (and alot of purchases back,lol!). Now I'm stumped why they're doing this and frankly I don't want to put anymore out to sell. Could it be they're getting brittle or breaking down from the solution?

Anyone with the same experience?

"Never use straight fragrance concentrate for refresher oils. This can be dangerous for people who do not know how to properly use and store the materials. The undiluted fragrance oils are to be used in manufacturers settings only where they are handled and used properly and kept away from children and other hazards. They are much too concentrated and can be dangerous in a non commercial setting."

Very cool candles!! Can you fit a tealight in each socket? (Just a thought!) but then again it'll melt above it.

I've tried Pink Sugar from The Candle Source and the throw is amazing. Had a votive sitting in a bedroom downstairs and I could smell it going down the stairs! (And this is the cold throw!)

I would feel more comfortable cutting the fragrances before selling to customers. Since different fragrance oils have different flashpoints there's no telling what the customers are doing with the uncut refreshers. They could put it on any heating elements such as vacuum filters, radiators, lightbulbs, etc so I would play it safe. Uncut fragrance oils that we buy from suppliers are meant for candle and soap manufacturing, not reselling to customers. If you are going to sell uncut to customers then you really have to educate them on what they can't do with it.

Michelle, you took the words right outta my mouth! I was just about to post the same question! You have no idea how much time I wasted printing a different scent at a time on the same label sheet and even then sometime the next label won't print on line if I don't insert the sheet properly. I thought there must be a way to do it all at once. Wow we sure learn something new everyday!!

I just tried it now and it's working for me.

To me this does sound fishy, I mean the ingredients are listed right under her nose yet she emailed to ASK you? The others are right, don't stress over too much about the shipping because it ain't worth it.

...For each product I am choosing around 5 scents/5 flavors, then I will have about 8-12 of those scents/flavors.

My show is over a period of 3 days...12 hours on 2 of the days, and 8 on the last day. I just hope I don't run out...lol

Any other pointers would be GREAT!!!

I just saw a post where a gal sold almost 400 candles in a 3 day show event. You'll be selling 8-12 products for each of the 5 scents? It seems pretty low for such a huge event.

Here I thought I would need to make about 50-100 votives of each scent (25-30 scents) for all 4 shows if someone could just give me a better idea of what's the rule of thumb to go by. Any more inputs??
