You guys are doomed! I know I am. I'm waiting for my samples and when they get here I'm gonna toss the box right back at the mailman. Then of course the box would break open and the scents would waft through the air to my nose which would result in me picking up all the samples, guard them with all my might as I head back to the computer to order some more. Then I'm gonna get a phone call from Visa stating there has been a suspicious large amount of $ charged just for oils. Yup I'm doomed.

When Stacey does come back, bump all the threads regarding her oils so she can see them right in front of her,LOL! She'll get the hint
Geez, that's going to take up the whole page, isn't it?

That is what most commonly used for soy tealights although you would have to test as some oils (particularly the heavier ones) can cause the wick to drown or have a very low flame. I'm using both 13-342Ts and 18-342Ts depending on the oils.
HTH!!

Don't use the wax that was boiled next time you try again. It's no good anymore.
-
Yikes! That's way too high of a temp. What kind of dyes are you using (blocks, chips, flakes?) and what brand are they? Also what wax are you using? With this info, we could help pinpoint the problem.

It also needs a border to spice it up a bit whether a dark one or a light one. My 2 cents!!

Hi,
I am currently testing 4630 myself. Through research on this board, I found that HTP wicks were recommended the most with this wax due to the wax's tendency to smoke. I am currently testing LX (18, 20 & 21) and HTP wicks (73, 83 & 93) with 4630, 8 oz. wide mouth jelly jar, Aroma Haven Celtic Moonspice 1 oz/lb and 2 drops of liquid dye (Peaks). I found that all wicks have a good hot fragrance throw, but the LX wicks (18, 20, & 21) have a really good melt pool, and so far the sides of the jar are clean. The HTP wicks are not burning as fast as the LX, but that could be good because the candle will last longer and these wicks do not smoke as much as the LX. Note - you really have to make sure you're trimming your wicks, especially LX because they smoke right away once lit. Today is the fifth day I have tested the candles at an average of 3.5 hour continual burn. I have posted a picture to show you what they are looking like so far. The top row has the HTP wicks left to right 73, 83, and 93. The bottom row has LX 18, 20 & 21. Tonight I'm pouring the same formula, but I will test HTP 104 and 44-24-18z to see if these perform better than what I have. Like I said before, I'm in the middle of testing, but this could be a good start for you - I know the results can be different with everyone, but I'm always glad to help.
Hi Julia! While the idea is great, you might want to separate those jars alittle farther from each other as they will compete for oxygen which could affect their burning results. I used to do that until I came across that information and it really makes sense!

Yes that's what it looks like, an automated reply for complaints. I would call them this time and complain about the candle AND their crappy email response. They otta read the 'How important is Business Integrity' thread too!! Wow ten days?? They probably didn't want to get around to responding your email until long as possible.
Okay...how sad is it when you have to have a "canned" email for people who complain about your candles. That is all that is...just plug and send. -
Are those tealights in them? I love the color combination as well as the incorporation of sun,sea & sky in mind. Great job!!

Baby food jars are a popular choice for containers.

I never knew so many colorful words could come out of my mouth. You know the ole story, one sheet would come out great, the next ten would be off. You should see the email I sent Avery at 2am...I am not proud of it.
LMOF!!! OMG I hear ya, I hear ya! I go through the exact same thing when trying to print out the scent names on my 'good custom made labels'. Geez by the time you realized what's happening and frantically trying to cancel the print button which for some reason has a 30 seconds delay before it actually stops the printing, the whole sheet is done! (As well as your 'managed to squeeze 25 cuss words in one sentence!')
Well at least you vented to Avery instead of throwing the printer out the window. Mine is sitting dangerously in front of one. LOL!!

Thanks gals for your input. It looks like I'm going to start ordering some samples soon!

Vanilla Snow
You can tell I'm enjoying this name game!

How about something to do with Frosty the snowman?? Thinking frosty=frosting?? Thought it was worth a shot anyway!! LOL...HTH
Oh! There you go how about 'Frosty's Dessert' or 'Frosty's Treat'
-
I've had people just randomly picked out the candles just for their colors never minding what scents they are.

Santa's Vanilla Dessert, Reindeer's Treat, O Night Divine,
I don't know, maybe someone will have better ones!

I'm toying with the idea of having a seperate line dedicated to Angels so I've been searching high and low for scents anything to do with angels and/or heaven and came up with these.
Angel Wings
Amazing Grace
Angel Baby
Angel Food Cake
Angel Heart
Heavenly Plumeria
Halo
Heavenly
Innocence
These are from various suppliers and I've never tried them but I'm curious what are your thoughts on them as far as scent name choices and their scent if you tried them. I know there are probably more out there but these seem to be the more common ones. Thanks!!!

Thanks Sherri! So it did get renamed??

I have a used bottle of KY 'Kentucky Christmas' that I purchased and I really like it. Only I cannot find the description nor the fragrance on their website unless it's under another name like "Christmas Past" or it's been discontinued? Does anyone know about this scent and discription? It smells alot like a Christmas tree but has other notes in it that I don' know what they are. Any help is appreciated!

I just HAD to step onto this thread, didn't I? You see what you made me do? I just HAD to check out her website and just HAD to order some sniffies. I know once I get them I will probably HAVE to order some more!! Ya know I'm on a tight budget and I was doing really good until now! LOL!!! I'm gonna have to keep on walking past you next time with hands over my ears 'dum dee dee dum' I didn't hear you!!

Does re-pour = re-cure?
in Vegetable Wax & Beeswax Candle Making

OMG, I was actually thinking about that today. Since we let the candles cure for awhile after we first make them, I was wondering well what about when they're burning,do they really need to be cured all over again? Ok here's another smack on the head question. Say you're burning a votive and it has a nice melt pool and once the melt pool has cooled wouldn't the fragrance be weaker because of the last burning time?
Ok you can smack me!
I'm still trying to figure out the rule of thumb for curing time for votives, tealights, and jars.
