aroma haven has one called Childhood that some say reminds them of the old Love's Baby Soft perfume.
OOOH! I haven't smelled that in ages!! Oops... I think I just gave my age away, lol!

I use Ecosoya Votive and rarely have that problem. It seems like you are heating it too high though. That could be the problem if they're cooling too fast. I normally melt it to about 150 -160 and pour just below 130. Hope this helps!

My cinnamon red hots I'm testing at the moment is running about 2 wick sizes higher than normal (4 oz tin with GB464, normally CD 5, but this is between a 6 and 8 (testing that now, but I'm thinking since it's tin the hangup will catch up at the bottom with a 6).

I was kinda hoping it's the fragrance oil as this is the first time I'm using this scent. I'm testing another votive with HTP 83, so far after 1 hour of burning it's lopsided so I'm hoping within the next hour it will have a complete MP.
I'm going to make another batch using one of my usual fragrance oils and try again with HTP 73 and see if that makes a difference.
I'm also testing the EL container wax but I find the finished look has a lot of pitting and bumps on the top as oppose to ECO CB which has a more smooth top.
The only reason I'm considering switching is because EL I can get local whereas ECOSOYA is a week shipping away which of course is more expensive. AH the pros and cons!!:undecided

Hi, I'm trying the Enchanted Lites Votive wax so I'm using HTP 73 which is what I normally use with my Ecosoya votive blend. I made one of each and am testing them side by side. After two hours I find the EL has not completely melted across yet while Eco has for awhile but they're both mushrooming which has never happened with ECO. I am trying a new fragrance which is Red Hot Cinnamon so that could be the issue. My question is what do you guys normally use for votive wicking on the EL votive blend? I went to the Candlesolutions message board, signed up and posted the same question but it looks pretty quiet over there.
Thanks for any help!!

your website looks awesome....I agree with the black and white theme on the displays, it's great. The only thing I saw that you may want to fix is the pictures that you've used for the flower pot votives.....your wicks are waaayyyy off center. That may deter some of the more candle savy customers from buying those...I would be hesitant myself.
That being said, you should be proud of your site....good luck!
Chris
I agree too although you say the wicks are centered but to the customer's perspective they look crooked. Another thing I noticed is the label on the middle pot. It looks a bit off as oppose to the labels on your other products. You might want to reconsider retaking this picture so the wicks doesn't look crooked and have a better centered label.
Overall your site looks beautiful and elegant. Congratulations!

Since they're not on the list I thought they deserve some credit for their oils. I've bought Snowberry last year for Christmas and my votives sold out very quickly. It's a very nice subtle scent, not very berry & minty like Wick your Wax's. This one does have the same scent description but it's more refreshing. I had a guy came and bought 6 votives at a show and he came back the next day and bought more! It's my mom all time favorite too. I just ordered some samples of Halo, Angel and Ginger Blossom. They smell really nice OOB but haven't tried in soy wax yet. Just thought I'd let you guys know!!

Thanks!
We will be in the Penticton(sp) area.
Oh Penticton! I live in the Okanagan area too. You MUST take a drive through Naramata which is right off Penticton, beautiful wine county!! Enjoy your stay!

Chocolate scents....Chocolate chip cookie, fudge brownies, etc. It's crazy cuz I'm one the biggest chocolate lovers you'll ever meet, but I can't stand to pour it, and I dont understand why.
I know why, it's because you know you can't eat them,LOL!!

They are buying bases from Essential Wholesale and have a real sweet markup.
For instance, the Peppermint and Tea Tree Shampoo by Marlo sells at $8.00 for 4oz. Buying the base in large bulk runs about 20 cents per ounce before shipping.
That's if they are bottling it themselves. Add in packaging, labels, etc., and they should still be below $1.50 invested per bottle. Multiply for retail and more than likely they have a couple of bucks left over to pay the consultants.
Actually, the whole setup seems to have been done beautifully as far as keeping consumer costs within reason for home party products while allowing both the business and the reps to make their cuts.
So with a bit of planning ahead, in reality, anyone here could do the same thing.
That's very interesting! The website is beautifully done as well as their products.

Thanks!
Most are not re-labeled, just re-poured into PET bottles due to CA earthquakes.
You ARE a FO HO! Taking precious care of your babies to make sure they're safe and unspilled just in case,LOL!
Love that cabinet by the way!

Has anyone heard of this company? It just launched last July and already has over 600 consultants worldwide.
How do people do that??

Just goes with the rest of my day. Dh pulled into the driveway and all I heard was squeaking! His alternator went. And, to boot, we have had water in our brand new addition (basement will be our bedroom and upstairs will be living room and kitchen). It had been leaking all summer and we thought we took care of it, but... We started to lay the carpet on Friday, but thankfully didn't get to finish because of numerous issues and dh had to pull up the padding we had already laid because it was soaked. It is supposed to be nice tomorrow, so hopefully it will dry up (we have a heater down there too).
Just one thing after another! I made some kitchen soap, so hopefully it will turn out okay!
Steph
I feel for you on this one! Had the exact same thing happened to us after we added two brand new bedrooms in the basement, new walls, new carpet & new tiles. We moved all the beds & furnitures down there and within two weeks our water heater gave out!Go figure! We never had a problem once with that darn thing ever. We had to hire a guy who brought in 3 major dryers to dry everything up.
Hope everything will lighten up for you from now on!

I bought a bottle of this and it just doesn't cut it. It's more of a spicy smell, nothing creamy or egg noggy. Can anyone suggest what to mix with it to make it more realistic? I'm not good at this type of thing although I can make a real kicked a** egg nog to drink, lol!!

I usually pour halfway, insert the wick and let it cool, adjust the wick and repour.

Has anyone tried making these? I had a few customers asking if I carry them. I know they can be time consuming to make but how do you wick them in a mold and what type of taper mold do you prefer (plastic/metal?, 1 piece/2 piece mold?) I can't seem to find any info in the search forum.

Oh thanks a bunch Bunny! Very valuable info!

Thanks for the reply! Would you know what's the recommended size for the 4 oz PET Boston bottle? (room spray)

What's the difference in the numbers?
18-410
20-410 and so on
Thanks for any info!

Most of the oils I have from them throw pretty strong although I'm trying Vanilla Velvet right now and it's just not throwing at all in my Ecosoy wax neither hot or cold. It's funny because all I hear about is how great it throws and how it's a best seller. They do have nice oils though.

So you don't get the 'cauliflower' results after burning EL container and letting it cool? I'm doing a 3 wicked heart shaped glassware and the first burn it took about 3-4 hours to get a complete MP and it burned beautifully but once it cooled I was shocked at the appearance. It looks like the middle has been poked around with an icepick, rather very unattractive. The second burn took a turn for the worse as the wicks were trying to keep up with the uneven top. Do I add something or what do I do? I'm trying really hard to work with these waxes so I can switch but I'm I really don't know about that.:undecided
