  1. Looked around and ended up adjusting my fragrances a bit as far as; top, middle & base. With that along with curing, we'll see what happens! Will keep you updated!! 😁
  2. Yup, I've checked Basenotes off and on and they sometimes have some great stuff to say!!! Hmm...just looked at Perfumers Apprentice. Never heard of them, but put it in my favorites so I can look at them more closely when I get the chance. Thanks TallTayl!!!!πŸ™‚
  3. I've noticed that when I use my diy perfume, the scent doesn't last terribly long and have others telling me the same. I just read somewhere that after you make your solid perfume to let it set in a cold dark place for 2 weeks after hardening. Supposedly, this lets the scent mature and will make it stronger. Have any of you heard this? I'm tempted to give it a try to see if it actually works...
  4. I like these Matchboxes using my Envelope Punchboard, I can make bigger ones of course.
  5. My goodness, people can be so stupid!!! I haven't ordered from Etsy since the last time I got my tins for my perfume, just haven't seen anything really to buy. But, my two times when I ordered my tins, some of them had a dent in them. Cause they weren't packed well, although I didn't leave bad reviews or ask for returns. I figured it was better to just see if I could find another place to get them from. My husband writes books and sells them on Amazon. Unfortunately, the ones who actually like the books never say anything. It's the ones who don't like them who always seem to write the reviews and are angry!!!! I'm sorry you're having to deal with this TallTayl...
  6. Thanks TT!! I found this tutorial and was thinking about using this box for my 1 ounce perfumes but, don't think it'd display them very well though. However, it might be alright for birthday gifts!!! πŸ˜‰
  7. I happened to see something about Jumbo Tea Light Candles and was wondering if any of you might know the dimensions of how big these things are? I have some original size ones on hand, but don't remember seeing these! Thanks, Cross-stitch
  8. Oh the joys of ordering supplies!! Sure is frustrating having to wait to finally get your items when things get messed up. Hope you're able to work with those even though they aren't exactly what you were hoping for...
  9. Thanks for the info!!! I wasn't really interested in "selling" it, just making it to try to see if it did anything for my skin. But, since those don't seem to lock in moisture it doesn't seem worth my time to try the recipe I found. So, for that I'm thankful to have found out!!!!
  10. Thanks for your info!!! πŸ™‚ I will keep a watch...
  11. I was wondering if any of you have made Lotion Candles? My hands are very dry and tend to get bad cuts on them along with bleed. So, have been looking around to see about finding something to help them and found this. http://keatonthefoodie.blogspot.com/2012/10/how-to-make-lotion-candle.html I've been tempted to give this a try, but wanted to see if any of you might have tried it first. If so, do you have any suggestions? Thanks for your input! Cross-stitch
  12. That's a great idea! I did find this website that helped me a little bit last night too. https://scentsa.wordpress.com/2011/01/12/guide-to-fragrance-families/
  13. I was wondering how you all group your scents when you describe what you sell? Do you describe by; fruit, floral, spice/woody? I've been looking at my lists and see that I could put mine in order better. But, am not sure how to go about it. Thanks for your suggestions. πŸ™‚
  14. That's pretty funny, cause it kind of sounds like me!!! But, ooh plumeria sounds like a good choice!! Looks like NG has that scent, but with the shipping I have order more than that to make it worth it!!!
  15. Yes, I've seen it but haven't tried it and not really looking for something too expensive. However, I was hoping to make something that smelled of Hawaiian Jasmine. Thanks though...
  16. I was wondering if any of you have made a Hawaiian jasmine scent. I have a friend who has asked me to make some solid perfume with it. But, am having trouble finding one that will work. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!
  17. I might have to try that!!! Looks like the cupcake papers are too small for my tins. But, would be tempted to get some coffee filters! I can probably get some for fairly cheap at work...
  18. I've seen some of the top ones & kinda liked them if I could find them. But, the bottom one looks pretty cool!!! I'm afraid I'd probably be fighting that paper though...
  19. I was wondering what you use to deliver your tins in as far as gift boxes. I've been looking around trying to find some DIY easy type things I might be able to make when I "sell" or give away my Solid Perfume. The tins I use are usually either 1 or 2oz. I recently obtained an Envelope making board which I've been playing around with to make boxes. And, I also have a scoring board as well. I'd kind of like to put 2 of my 2oz containers together or 3 of my 1oz if need be. Any ideas? Thanks. πŸ™‚ Cross-stitch
  20. I was wondering if any of you might have used Ho Wood at all and what you've used it for. A friend of mine from work swears by it and is planning to give me some to smell and try. My use for it will most likely be in solid perfume. I've been googling to see best blends and see that supposedly it goes well with quite a few scents. But, wanted to see what you all might be able to tell me. Thanks! πŸ™‚
  21. Hmm. Never tried coconut oil, do have a bunch though for a different project. So, might have to try that to see what it does too...
  22. Yeah, I've looked around a lot more and think it's probably better not to try this oil. Also looked into grapeseed oil as well, hoping for a little less expensive carrier oil. But, everything I see seems like jojoba and sweet Almond Oil are best for my uses. Thanks for your input TallTayl!
  23. I was wondering if any of you have used Avocado oil in your perfumes? I see some that I could obtain for a decent price and might be interested in trying it. But, figure it'd be worth asking around first. Thanks for any ideas!!!
  24. Hi. It pretty much depends on what kinds of oils and butters you're planning to use. And, also how much you're looking to purchase as well as how much you want to spend. I normally don't use a whole lot at a time, so mine lasts awhile longer than others, so I don't require much. I recently ordered some Shea Butter from Brambleberry and that wasn't too bad in price for me. I wish I had more info for you...
