I just wanted to add that it is possible to find a wick that doesn't soot with this wax. I have been using this wax for a couple of months and tested many different jars and wicks, and I have found several that don't soot I love the ECO series wicks with the 70/30. So, it is possible, don't give up, I wouldn't settle for even a little sooting. And like others said, you will LOVE this wax, it really is a dream to work with. Good Luck and Have Fun! How about 3 layered votives, black, blue and then black, like the "thin blue line" stickers and such. Not sure how black would go over for a wedding though...

Has anyone used this? If so, I could use some help! I just purchased this from the last co-op and the jug that it came in has no ingredients listed, and I can't for the life of me find directions. I have searched everywhere I can think for 2 days looking for any info at all. No luck, not even on SFIC's website. I did finally find the ingredients, but I still have NO idea about how much FO to use and whether or not it needs to be heated up, etc. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction? Thanks alot for your suggestions. I'm gonna go check those out now. The ones I listed are just my personal faves or ones I've had requests for. I'm wanting it for lotion, shower gel and soap mainly, and maybe a few candles(using the 70/30) here and there depending on how popular these scents are. Are any of these big sellers in candles or mostly b&b? Thanks again!

I had the same problem too, because my candle business name was strictly candles, so when I added b&b I came up with a new name for that side as well. But, now that it's time to finally do my website, I've decided to change the name to something that covers both. It was a very hard decision, and even harder to come up with a new name, but I figured it was the easiest solution. I didn't want to run and maintain 2 websites when I could just do one, and I wasn't sure how to advertise or what to do about a retail store either. I eventually(many years down the road) would like to have a store front too, so this seemed like the logical thing to do, well definately easier. Good Luck! -Jessica

I couldn't really decide between the first two, but I LOVE the 3rd one!! It's definately a keeper, IMO. Brings the first 2 together, but it also fixes the issues with the black stripe and the font. All 3 choices are awesome, but the 3rd one gets my vote! You do amazing work girlie! I wish I could afford for you to do my labels, ah, maybe one day! -Jessica

I also use 1/2 container and 1/2 votive/pillar for my clamshells. I have used just container, and mine were a lil too "greasy", but they did work. I guess it's all in your preference. As for testing, I put a chip or two in a glass bowl I use on my warmer to test for scent throw. You would do the same for your wickless, just plop em on the warmer and wait...the easiest things to test, IMO. Good Luck! -Jessica

The kits they sell at Hobby Lobby and Michael's are microwaveable. It says it on the front of the box. I've never personally used the microwave for melting soy, but I know others who do.

The only time I've ever had mushrooms using Eco's is when I've overwicked! I use mostly Eco's in my jars and I don't have the mushrooming, if I find the correct size wick. HTH!

What a joke! She would have stated the facts and butted out, had you not brought up her personal affairs, and tried to question her on them. Greenleaf does not need free advertising, their products, integrity, professionalism, and customer service is all they need. I have personally stated that I don't like certain FO's from them, not my taste, but I've never been argued with about it. I can't possibly imagine anyone from GL arguing with anyone about anything. If you don't like them, don't use them, move on. There are many other suppliers on this board who do tend to step in from time to time when the quality of their product is in question, she's not alone by any means. I also agree that Top, you seem to be a "teacher" not a doer. Although, I have to admit that you do have a wealth of information, but the manner in which you supply it is often uncalled for. Ok, that being said, I'm off to actually MAKE some candles with Greenleaf's excellent products! Have a good one!

I personally appreciate having the supplier here on this board giving good customer service. This has nothing to do with PR. You asked a question, and the most able bodied person responded...what more do you want? You got your question asked and answered in peace, you're the one who got aggressive. From what I've read, you've not done much on this board in the way of peace. JMO!

Of course, I would never put down another business or individual candlemaker, just using it to show examples, and I usually don't show the labels of the "other" candles, unless someone asks.

CandleMan - Funny you should say that, because I have kept it, and I've taken pics of their candle and my candle side by side. You can obviously see the differences. I too tend to purchase other "higher end" candles and well known name brands just to burn for research purposes and to show potential customers the difference in real life, I find it's much easier than trying to explain what melt pool, hangup, tunneling, etc. is to consumers. It's good to know that others do this as well, and that it's not considered bad business practices.

Jennifer, I bet I know exactly which ones you are talking about! I've seen 'em, I've noticed that some are half filled, wicks way off center and FO/dye seeping on top. I think they are from Old Williamsburg or something like that. It almost makes it hard to explain to a customer why we charge what we do for a square mason, when they can get it for $1....until they burn ours vs. theirs. I did buy one a while back, and it did have a pretty good throw, but it smoked, threw off lots of soot and left major hangup. So, yep, you get what you pay for!
