I never heard of 16/17 so I googled it. They certainly have some unique fragrances but my goodness, they're expensive!

I only make candles for my personal use (not a business) but 16/17 are some of my absolute favorites. They are expensive but they’re very strong. In many I’ll only use 5-6%. Florencia is so divine.

  2. I could see that happening very quickly. Luckily (or maybe not) I’m relegated to only so much space in our garage and I was reminded of the one in, one out rule. I also might be encroaching a little on the brewing equipment. Starting with a one pound batch and at most up to 3 also due to space once the soap is made. Plus it’s just for us. Lol 😉

  3. I’m not sure who made the comment to me a year or so ago when I ventured from candles to M&P, “at some point you’ll want to try CP.” We’ll you were right. I’m getting ready to make my first batch in the next few weeks. When I saw Bramble Berry had premixed oils, I thought that’s an easy way to put my toe in the water before I really dive into this. Also it’s just for my own personal use.

I’m kind of excited. Wish me luck!

I try to stay away from botanical additives. They don’t dissolve, and catch on hair and soap scum will build up in your pipes and anything going down your pipes will catch and build clogs. But people

love it. Also be careful in using certain materials, because they will rot, like petals.

Omg... I’m not the only one! This isn’t from a business perspective but just always the way I’ve felt. I’m like yea that looks pretty in a display on a shelf but what a disaster for my drains!! Lavender, coffee beans citrus peels, rose petals don’t just dissolve when water hits them. I’ve never understood the allure. I’ve always found it really gross.

Who wants to buy a 30 dollar candle when you can get bbw candles 3 for 30 on a sale 😭😭😥

🙋🏻‍♀️ I’m the person who would buy a $30-$40 8oz candle over anything from BBW because I’d rather have one amazing and unique candle than anything from BBW.

Have you ordered from them before? Seems like it could get complicated/expensive although I have ordered other containers from far away before, and it was worth it.

Just clarifying - ordering from Candle Science? Yes super simple since they have warehouses in both GA and NV. I’m in Ca orders that come from NV arrive in a day or two, orders from the GA warehouse usually 2-4.

I’ve also ordered from 16/17 - their orders ship really fast. They also arrive quickly for me because I’m only about an hour and half south of them. I’ve ordered a few of their vessels. Excellent quality and perfectly packaged. Each came in its own box with a styrofoam protective shell.

the solvents will evaporate out as the nail polish dries, so hopefully no longer a flammability hazard from that sense. I’ve never tried to set fire to dry polish. Does it burn?

I have no experience burning nail polish but even if doesn’t catch on fire would it emit some type of something as it burned? My intelligence is really shining through 🤦🏻‍♀️😆

  8. Right now I’m playing with Ceda-Serica. Because it came in a set of two I’m trying one with two small wicks CDN 2 and one with CDN 6. In my very limited experience, I’ve liked using two wicks on 3 inch diameter vessels because so far I get a nice sized flame (no soot or carbon build up), vessels have been staying relatively cool, great HT with a lower FO percentage (4-5% for this one), and still achieving full melt pool in the second half burn.

Since these tumblers came in a set of two, I’m also trying out one with a single CDN 6, just to see... because why not!
