5. AWESOME! i love the flag, what wet spot:wink2: . they are very nice & those containers burn very nice.
6. i agree with them the 3rd has a little pazaz to it (sorry bout spelling):rolleyes2
7. ok i have a question, on electric candles, does anyone use scented bulbs? if so do you scent them yourself or buy them scented? & if you scent them yourself how do you do it? can you use normal candle scent or do you have to buy something else. Can someone give me any input?
8. Thanks to everyones input, actually it is Ashlie K's. she ordered it & is very pleased but i take any orders for any kind of pictures. This one is painted but i also do photo's. Orders always welcomed . If you need to see the one's i have done don't hesitate to check my website out. I also have about 3 more sitting here to paint. I also am working on electric one's but i'm just in the experimenting stage on that :rolleyes2. I am working on strawberries for someone & i have a basket of roses & a "Nebraska Huskers" cane for fun to see if it sells, but i found patterns for almost any college & pro football team. Thanks again everyone!!!!!
9. here is some pics to show my latest creation. it is an order for someone. sorry bout the pics my camera doesn't take the best pics.
10. they are awesome. it just goes to show the student reflects how good the teacher is. You BOTH get an A+ :rolleyes2
11. i can't help you with pillars but i can put some input. now i paint hurricanes not pillars but i use standard apple barrel paint. i always put more than 1 coat on but i paint directly on the shell. some people say they spray the candle w/matte spray 1st but depending on the paint depends on the layers. i have no problems & found out the hot point for the paint is if you put in directly on the flame. i would test 1st w/pillars but they do great for hurricane & balloon shells. hope this helps, btw wally mart has apple barrel for $.44. i like apple barrel cause it tends to be thicker. :rolleyes2
12. i am so sorry. the person who asked the question about a hurricane w/strawberries could you resend me message of what you were looking for pleasssssssssssssssssse.:rolleyes2
13. Candleman thanks for the advice:wink2: but i like to paint them. i'm not good at too many things & when i can do this i am proud of myself & i like the fact & i point it out to my customers that each one is hand painted & no 2 are alike. Maybe someday if i get too big to hand it i will try that but for now i will keep hand painting them.
14. i had to share this website with all you candle makers. it is someone i swapped links with & it blew me away. hope you enjoy it as much as i did. http://cartooncandles.com/
15. here is the latest addition to my painted hurricanes, also how i package them. posted new pic's on page 2, reply #12
16. Lin you put me in awe. I had to show them & some of your other work to my hubby. You have an awesome talent. As usual it is BEAUTIFUL!!!! maybe some day i will get that inspired.
17. thank you everyone for the imput. i think i worked it out i'm going to use an oval shape on front w/co info & a small round on lid w/scent & size i can still use the address (1x2 5/8) & shipping (2x4) labels just need to trim a little & i can get them at the local office depot. i haven't tried it on the actual label or container yet but i printed them on paper & cut out. I like them they are alittle shorter but fatter to take up little bit room on bigger containers & small enough for the little 1oz. i really didn't want to switch containers cause they are nice & at a good price. the only reason for the inquire is i have a possible wholesale but i need to finally settle on a label cause i keep changing them.
18. i was thinking bout that but no stores around here carry the round labels & i don't feel like ordering them online just to pay alot of shipping & not like them. the only thing i could do is buy the paper you can cut out yourself but who wants to set all day & cut labels. but might have to.
19. i also pour between 150-160, i usually get very nice tops but always had to repour but now i bought a heat gun (onsale wally mart $4.00) don't know how i got on without it. but the scents i can't help either but i would try maybe a sample or 2, pour some candles for your own use & try them out. i use lonestar scents & are very happy with them
20. i have a question for the candle makers that make container candles. do you put 1 or 2 labels on you containers. like 1 w/company info then the 2nd w/scent & weight. & what size jars do most of you use. i am trying to find a nice way of doing labels i have programs but i can't seem to get one that i like. i have sizes of jars from 1.5, 4, 6 & 9. the problem i'm having is the 1 oz is small not much room for label & info that you can see then the 9 oz the label looks too small. i use an address label 1x2 5/8 they look fine on the 4 & 6's but i only use 1 label & it looks cluttered but when i used 2 you couldn't see the candle the sides were covered. i tried a card tied around the lid but they didn't lay right they stuck straight out. uggggggggggh what to do, anyone got suggestions?
21. thank you, the flowers are dipped & scented. i live in nebraska, when i did my 1st show my prices were much hire, i didn't sell that much. i changed supply companies & now i can lower my prices. i don't cut my throat but i still make a small profit. my dad use to make jewelry & he always priced that he could replace what he sold & a second of that item. well i do that. sometimes people just don't want to buy anything that doesn't say sale on it.
22. i agree w/mommad. i would rather have something like a candle then flowers that die. but i do have 1 question when the tealight is burned completely can you remove it & put a new one in & would the tealight melt down through the candle when it get's hot or do you put something under neath it? btw very beautiful!!!!!!!!
23. i wish i was that talented..........put's my creations to shame:p great job!!!!!!!!!
24. here are some of the things i've been working on. I have a craft show coming up on may 6th these are some of the things i'm taking. The flowers are scented differently, some are cabernet, peaches & cream, cherry cola, lemon chiffon, apple delight, cucumber melon, orange grove, southern butter pecan & butterscotch. I tried to keep like the fruity scents together, etc. i will be pricing the flowers @$6 & i price the hurricanes @$4.50 & balloons @$2.50. what do you think about them & the prices
25. i also tried both ways. i got the bubbles too when i overdipped & embedding i couldn't get the pic the way i wanted it so i use mod podge it glues & then i put a clear coat over top. they look pretty good to me .
