  1. depends on what type of wax for soy it should be 170-180, i think for paraffin about 180-190 but what kind of wax are you using, usually you get heating directions w/the wax. also i do container candles i'm not sure what you want for "dipped". hope this helps a little
  2. does anyone know how to get pics straight on hurricane shells. i've tried putting them on w/tongues & chop sticks but i can't seem to get them straight. any suggestions?
  3. can anyone tell me where to get instructions on making like the pillars that when you cut them they are different colors & electric candles, etc. items like that is there 1 website that teaches these techniques or multiple ones. if so can someone direct me in the right direction?
  4. i would love to be able to do that. how do you learn how to do them? and can you only do them with paraffin or can you use soy for pillars? is there a certain website beside this one that teaches stuff like that?

  7. hello everyone i have a question about hurricane shells. i made my 1st one tonight & it turned out great, then i melted it back down cause i want to learn to put pics on them but when i was putting the pic i noticed as soon as i poured the wax into the mold it started setting so i'm not quit sure how the pic came out but what i was wondering is should i heat the wax hotter (if so how hot, did it to 190 this time) or should i heat the mold a little? need help. thanks
  8. i appreciate the comments. most of the soaps i use cookie cutters on but the flags i hand cut except the stars. I'll never be that good . I am very proud of the flags too. I just hope they sell at the craft show i'm doing in 1 1/2 weeks. (crossing fingers)

  11. i agree w/tootie, i can't smell a thing till i walk out & come back in or certain spots in the house i will smell it & some not, but my husband can smell it instantly.
  12. i used both i started w/chips but now i use liquid & i would never go back they disolve instantly & you only need a little cause it goes a long way. they colors are beautiful. you could say i love them.

Top i'm not sure what you mean by unfounded statements or falsehoods. please explain. i don't feel i'm manipulating the consumer. i'm sure everyone here thinks their candles are the best or the use the best products to produce them. i was just trying to take pride in what i do. ok i have done some revamp of the home page. let me know what you think (please be gentle) it really looks like everyone here is out of my league but i can only get better i hope. Donita btw i visited your home page you really have some beautiful candles i just hope i can get that good but i have been doing this for a very short time so bear with me.

Hello my name is audrey & i'm new to the candle & forum seen.... but i was just wondering i read the directions for making hurricane shells but i was wondering if anyone has tried these & if so can you make them different colors. nothing dark but light pastels & if you can do they distort the pics? very interested in this thinks it might make a difference in my business. thanks for any imput, also i do have a website if anyone wants to visit & give me any advise on it :tiptoe: . thanks again Audrey (Candle Light Creations) www.candlelightcreations.net
