1. hello fellow candle makers, it has been a longggggg time since i posted but had to take a break was only doing gift candles now trying to get back into the selling aspect of the candles. wondering if anyone is using ebay to sell their candles and if so how successful are they at it & can they give any pointers. i'm not good at the public selling (hate it infact, get 2 nervous) but want to do the online thing if i can get the right info. thanks in advance for any advice you all can give. audrey
2. i tried 2 do a search for floating canldes, but i can't seem 2 get the page 2 come up. i tried making floaters but they just burn straight down and go out cause water gets in them. i've used a hurricane/soy blend 50/50 with a wick for a 1.5-2 inch candle but i can't get them 2 burn outward, should i use a bigger wick or should i make the wax more of a 75/25 blend & make it harder. not quite sure what 2 do, any help would be appreciated. thanks audrey
3. i am truly stuned. they are breathtaking.
4. thank you all so much for the good reviews, yes i have been busy and was a little leary as to if i still enjoyed making hurricanes, and i guess i found out i do but i tried using the water decals and personnally love them. Also thanks for the info on the tealights it's something i've been wrestling with so as long as i know the experienced chandlers don't care for them thats good enough for me
5. this is the last post but this also is the same hurricane. thanks for looking, give me honest opinions, sorry i didn't lite any of them cause of my camera and haven't decided if i want to put regular tealights or battery tealights. which if anyone knows whether a battery tealight gives off more light than a regular tealight i would appreciate any input. thanks
6. now the 1st 3 pics go around the hurricane (i.e. same candle) this pic is a solid unicorn candle with painted details, it's more for decoration then for burning.
7. same 1st 2 are front and back
8. the 1st 2 are front and back, sorry my carmera is a little bit lousy with pics but you get the idea
9. does anyone know how to get water out of wax. i was making a balloon candle and the balloon broke in the water. i drained the wax and after it hardened most of the water seperated from the wax so i remelted it but i still have little bubbles in it how do i get it out i can't make any balloon candles cause they have little bubble holes all through them. if anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it. thanks, audrey
10. ah man, there were other things i wanted to get. i know there is a place but just wondering what size wick because of the different sizes in the candle itself. makes it hard to choose size. but thanks for the heads up on pourette. audrey
11. hello everyone, i was wondering if anyone has tried those plastic molds from pourette. the ones that are a specific shape like unicorns, horses, etc. anyhow i'm thinking bout trying them but not sure how to wick them cause of the odd shape are you still trying to get a well like you do w/pillars (which would be difficult) or are they more for decoration than burning. this question is not specific for pourette molds just any specific shaped molds period. any help would be helpful. if you do try to get the well how would you measure the size wick you need cause of the candle being different sizes. thanks Audrey
12. thanks so much i found it actually but doing a better search before i looked at this response but thanks so much. i'm glad to see people are still very helpful here.
13. hello everyone i have come back to candle making, took awhile off, but found out my company is downsizing so i thought this might be the perfect opportunity to get my business off & running, but need some help i switched computers & lost my website suppliers. i tried finding the thread that had them all listed if someone could help. either let me know what they did w/the thread or give me some help on suppliers because i'm sure new ones have popped up. i need wax suppliers for hurricane wax (was using iga 1260) also a GOOD 100% soy (no blend please) also supplies such as aroma bags & nice containers, thinking of going w/2 sizes of jars 6-9 & 12-16. any suggestions would be sooooooooooooo appreciated. working on some other things but needing some supplies 1st. thanks audrey (former Candle Light Creations)
14. i have always use a hurricane wax, yes something w/high melt point. i think mine is iga 1260, never tried bees wax, can't help you there. watch out they are addictive little things

17. when i do my hurricanes i use a deep dish pie pan, little thicker than cookie sheet also i melt a little then look at eye level if it seems off i melt ever so slightly on that end. it is something that just gets better w/practice but i usually pour a little taller incase the shell is being difficult it's gives me shell to work with. as far as a dish try wally mart they have lots of different sizes, it's like they know we've been checking them out . hope this helps :smiley2:
18. Welcome Erica, thank you for the image & laugh, i can just imagine a flying candle. makes me think of what i want to do when something is not going my way & an air hose would be PERFECT.....but on the sticking did you spray mold w/either mold release or cooking spray (which is what i use) it works great w/difficult releases.........
