  1. Now I know I can't live without that embroidery machine! Love the crib quilt!! And the apron is beautiful.......you do such beautiful work! Debbie
  2. I sent you a pm - just hate begging in public.....lol:rolleyes2 debbie
  3. Do you take orders/sell them? Very nice! I just bought a couple of aprons on-line - they are cute but yours is awesome! I really like it. Maybe a new hobby for me?? I have looked at those embroidery machines - wow - very pricey..... anyhow.....impressive!
  4. That is so very nice - mind if I ask where you found the patterns for these 'floor cloths'? What a great idea! And very nice painting for a 1st time!! Debbie
  5. I use the corn and freeze them - just put in a zip lock bag prior to putting in the freezer - freeze for a couple of hours and they are good to go! I didn't read the above mentioned site but I zap mine (in the microwave) for 3 minutes at a time 3 times - this is said to zap any bugs that might be in the corn or whatever you might be using. Since they are using the corn in an accredited hospital, I feel fairly certain that they are safe and bug free. course I still believe in Santa, the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny! I don't have the web site for the hospital information but feel certain if you google heat bags and Arizona hospital you will find all her information and the hoops she had to jump through in order to get her bags approved. I think it is all a matter of preference....Heat helps what ails you so the manner in which it is applied is just your personal preference. Debbie
  6. I have been heating these in my microwave for some time now (several months for the herbal - years for the deer corn and flax) - what type of damage have you experienced? I make these herbal heat wraps, both with various herbs and with no herbs.....I would like to know what to watch out for. I also gave these as gifts to lots of elderly folks sure would hate to cause problems for them.....
  7. Deer corn works really well and holds the heat better than any of the other 'fillers'. I use a mixture of flax, buckwheat, herbs and deer corn. I make a 9x18 wrap and use about 2 pounds of ingredients - the deer corn being the primary. To 'refresh' slightly mist your bag. Rice is not good if you are using herbs or introducing moisture to your bag as it can mold or become soggy! Do a search - there is a hospital in Arizona where they are now using these heat wraps in their physical therapy dept.... I made these for the old folks at Christmas time and they love them! And I use them all the time - great for 'what ails you'! I put mine in muslin bags then make a cover for them - tried using just a nice cotton but flannel feels nicer! And the cover can be laundered. I use a variety of herbs, which I researched and read about before I choose them.
  8. NG is great - they have lots of fo's I use and like - cs is outstanding - but I have not tried their Chai Tea. I have only used the chai tea from Oregon Trails and it is wonderful!! I use either J223 or GL 70/30 and it throws great in both waxes....and makes a great bar of soap!!
  9. I've bought wax and fo's....shipping really quick, cs was outstanding as there was a problem with one fo - resolved quickly, professionally with an email and a phone call. Shipping charges not inflated (no added fees!) As someone mentioned, she is one of the few who still carry 6228. Wish I was close enough to pu!
  10. A blow dryer will 'blow' the wax all over the place - which is why a heat gun is so much better. Even with very soft wax, Alan's suggestion was probably the best if you don't have a heat gun. Same process to use if you spill wax on carpet. Ceramic tile is really quite easy to clean up.....After all the wax is off the tile, then use the goo gone on the grout.
  11. Have you asked Peaks?? They would be able to answer with certainty! Alan and Nachel are very receptive.....try calling or emailing - they (I am certain) will respond promptly with the information you are seeking.
  12. OK man I hate it when I don't know something (cause I know I know everything....lol) but....hey Scented what is Big Daddy's?? ....oh chit think I understand now.....maybe?! lol
  13. Excuse the lack of paragraphs up above.....I am having a computer problem! I can make one hell of a candle but can't figure out computer problems to save my life!!
  14. Lots of reading, just on this board, will give you lots of info regarding suppliers. Peaks is awesome, with that I will agree, but there are many suppliers that carry different and unusual scents and supplies that are awesome! Please take some time to read the back posts and you will see that it has been said many times, many ways, go to candle suppliers for your supplies, not the local Michaels (or craft store). It will also give you lots of info for wicks, colors, scents, jars, and much much more. Before I started making candles I read for hours every day, made notes, figured out what I wanted to try first, what I needed and some basic instructions. Made it easy to make a good product when you have the information you need.Glad you found Peaks.....they have awesome products and great cs!!
  15. And the best part of all - YOU can spell VOTIVE correctly! So now you can be the votive queen........I hate votives also.....but I hate it when people call them VOLTIVES! lol Glad you are getting them.....I hate them in the winter time when it is cold - everything looks rustic - when it is not supposed to!
  16. Hey Missy - Ville Platte is about 3 hours from New Orleans. If you know where Lafayette is, I am about 40 miles or so from there....more central La. But love New Orleans - going to drop off an order in Reserve probably the end of next week - maybe we can meet? Let me know how your schedule is on Friday? I am always up for some food....lol lunch maybe? It's always nice to meet people from the board. Debbie
  17. www.oklahomafragranceoilsupply.com I went to the supplier section - her link didn't work but I kept at it till I found it....lol Anything for good fo's!
  18. OK - am really feeling the need to shop - went to the site....below is a list of what I think I can't live without. But I do have a question - why can't I buy a bunch of gc for myself - then I get $5 free with every $20 bought and get free shipping? Hmmmm - gonna have to go read that again! Cranberry Ginger Spice, Manuka and Lavender, Mediterranean Garden Spa, Plum Currant Preserves, Pomegranate Peach, Rhubarb Plum, Sea Island Grapefruit, Bartlett and Basil, Eucalyptus Cedar, Juniper and Aloe, Rosemary Mint...................Could make this be one of my Christmas presents huh? lol
  19. OK - I went to the sale page and now I know......hmmmmm so y'all like her stuff huh? might just have to give her some of my $$.....sounds enticing...gonna go do some searching.... Anyone used her fo's in soy? How about soap? Well off to search................thanks (for helping me spend the few $$ I got left) Debbie
  20. Man I thought I was running close to y'all but I must not be.....cause I have to ask.......who is OFS? If my smilies worked, I have to have the red faced, embarassed one! lol
  21. I don't know about the smell good part (It burns off so fast I have never smelled anything ....) but it works perfectly for me. I use cup cake liners and just pour old wax into them and use to start my fireplace. Used them last year and have now given away tons to friends. If you are using the pinecones and making them fancy, they will have a good cold throw probably. I don't do anything quite so fancy....just want an easy way to start the fire!
  22. my mice like peppermint! Had a box of candy canes in a bottom shelf and they have eaten through the box, into the candy canes! They also seem to have a particular affinity for botanicals - most especially chamomile and calendula....lol ate through the plastic bags (but they are messy and spill so much!).....They love shea and mango butter - must keep it in the frig this time of year....As soon as it begins to get cool outside I put the traps in my candle kitchen.....hopefully I can keep them contained in that room - me the dreamer! Anyhow they eat paper if nothing else satisfies them so I guess I will just keep the peanut butter on the traps....wish they would develop a birth control for mice...seems like all they do is poop and make more babies!! They have never bothered candles, soaps, nor the fo's.......maybe I am lucky! lol here in Louisiana it will be warm soon enough....I have learned to live with these little monsters for a month or so.....don't like it but don't have a choice!
  23. My 13 year old granddaughter whines like crazy when she is out! She has very thick, curly hair and swears by Bunnys stuff!! I tried it, my hair is limp and thin - and it does 'weigh it down' - need the body and volumizer kind of stuff - yea Bunny get to work! Anyhow, the anti frizz and conditioner is just awesome and I really do believe since my granddaughter has been using it, her hair is absolutely beautiful!! What a difference it has made!! (keep blushing girlfriend....your stuff rocks!)
  24. I'm sure that must be very frustrating....I just received my order today (also from the $1 sample sale) - I know it is such a silly thing, but I love that she throws in a few candies....today I really (!!) needed them! I'm sure you'll get a fast response/resolution from her. I have always received awesome cs!
  25. Gel doesn't always throw all that well....Before you give up on the one you have, you should try it in the type of wax you usually use. As for my favorite, Peaks wins hands down.....absolutely love it....although (and it pains me to say so) but I agree with Angela about Just Scents Cinnamon Roll with Frosting....it is very nice but alas, I will only be using Peaks as theirs really is the BEST and has the best hot and cold throw!
