Ok, now I have to try them. I wonder if they've come up with a recovery place yet for FO addiction? LOL I'll be first on the list.

I use a soy blend and am currently using Fairy Dust & Twinkle Toes (very popular), Sultry Angel and Bunchberry & Moss. All great scents and throw is awesome. Next order I won't hesitate at all to order some more samples to test.

This weekend I plan on pouring two batches of soap, pouring some testers of a few FOs and I'm planning, not saying it's gonna happen, but maybe.......attempting to crochet some washclothes to coordinate with some of my soaps. I really don't need to add anything new to my list of to do's. LOL!! Does this creativity ever stop?? I keep getting ideas I want to try.

Those are the same jars I've been using from the same place and my experience so far is the jars have been very inconsistant. On a few, the jars are thinner, the tops on a few have been uneven, and on a few the lids went on very tight or were very loose. I need more consistancy from the same jar. So I started pricing out with shipping, the same jar from other places. And found that The Jar Store is only a few dollars more per case but a better quality product. So, I switched my supplier for those jars. I never had bad customer service from them, and their prices were the best, but the product wasn't good enough for me.

I have mine like several others, by supplier, then alphabetically. Except all the samples, they are crammed together in one cupboard.

I see what ya mean Donna. Those other soaps of yours are very pretty too. Maybe, if you wanted to sell them with the rest of your soaps, package them uniquely. I've seen, in the gallery, some really cute wrapping/packaging people have done to their soaps that make them look entirely different.

Send the kitchen aid stickblender this way!!! I'm wearing out stickblenders like crazy (just 3). LOL They held up fine with smaller batches, but the larger batches are really strainin them. Donna: I think your soaps look fine. They have that "homemade" look to them that people like.

I'd scent it Leather also. Maybe with a touch of a Whiskey scent too. Not sure those two scents would mix, but was just a thought.

I recieved a special order and have been looking everywhere for these two scents, but no luck. Does anyone know where I can "Lucky" by Lucky Brand and "Envy Me" by Gucci? They've gotta be out there somewhere. I'll keep looking. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Suzanne

That's good to know. I thought I read somewhere that you can't use it. Don't remember where. LOL!! I haven't had any turn orange on me yet. Do you pour in slower than when pouring it in water? It'll save time if I don't have to take forever pouring in that lye.

Kaybee, you'll have to let us know how Mardi Gras soaps. It's the one from NG, right? I have it and use it in candles but not in B&B yet. Sherie, I so love that scent too!! I should of used titanium dioxide because all of mine are really really dark brown. But that smell is to die for!!!

No, I wouldn't. When it turns orange, that means you burnt the milk. I've been making milk soap lately. I have the milk in an ice bath and very slowly (about 10-15 minutes) pour the lye in, stirring constantly. You'll know you have succeeded if when you're done it is a lemon color. Also, if you pour too slow the milkfat and the lye could start the saponification process, and if that starts happening, just pour the lye in a tadbit faster. After you make it once or twice, you'll get the feel for the pace to pour it in at. And the soap it makes is well worth it.

Did you try double wicking? I get my wicks from Peaks usually. They are always consistant, nicely labeled, wicks are straight and packaged nicely.

I think most of the time I used HTP 83, but that was with 100% soy wax. Right now I use 70/30 soy/paraffin blend and using the LX wicks. I tried the HTP wicks in this blend but the wick would burn hotter on the side of jar the wick was curling towards, causing something similar to what you stated. It was leaving a hang up on one side of jar, and sometimes sooting on the other.

I don't use that wax but I used to use the apothecary jars and had to double wick them when using soy.
