  1. I used this wax when I was out of beeswax one time and it is great.
  2. Did you see the price on that software? holy crap! I checked it out a little more closely..it is geared more for people not selling but soliciting for money.
  3. I use the metro as well as a jelly jar and they very nearly the same. You go girl!
  4. KY Soy 125 37.50 per 50 pound case. With shipping to me it is 1.14 per pound delivered to Illinois from KY.
  5. Oh my gosh, when you said you cut it I was sure you were talking about the mustard of the cheese! Great job lady!
  6. There are great parrafin waxes out there too. I choose soy because I like the easy clean up with soap and water and I love the way they burn. Scent throw is comparable to regular waxes, better with some scents and not as good with others. I committed to soy a long time ago because I am from the midwest and prefer to use a soy product in support of our farmers just as I use ethanol which is made from corn. Try a couple samples of soy and see what you think. I don't use the 2 you mentioned. I use KY 125 from KY Candle Wax Supply. Vicky at KY will give you wicking suggestions to get you started. She is great.
  7. Lemon Meringue Pie from Longwycks (aroma haven now I guess)
  8. Warm vanilla sugar makes me gag and my mom loves it!
  9. ahhhh I remember my first CP...was a thrill it was!
  10. Rustic Escentuals has the best OMH I have tried. It is not at all fruity smelling like the one from KY Candle Supply. It kinda depends on what you are looking for. I ordered from KY expecting the same thing I got from RE and they were totally and completely different.
  11. I apologize..after packaging 300 pounds of hard oils..well I am goofy.
  12. I thought Vagina too.. Maybe you could market it as Vaniglia Vagina Shiner
  13. Honestly- I have done these and yeah it is a good way to get your name out there BUT..and it is a big BUT they are very time consuming and the packing and unpacking, etc is a royal PIA. I made some money on them, sure, but for me it wasn't worth it. I loved showing my products to everyone and they loved them too but the time factor and the packing and unpackign was more than I really wanted to do. The same with a weekly farmers market I used to do. Just not worth it personally. My time is valuable to me and these eat up alot of it. ANd you are right, folks are busy. A good way to make sales is to do a catalog show. Have your hostess take orders for your candles etc and turn them into you. You can give her some samples to carry as examples. This is FAR easier on you. Trust me.,,lol But, if you really want to try it, DO IT. Maybe it is just your style. Everyone is different and has different likes and dislikes. One party I did around the holidays was over $500 in sales but after the gas, my time and everything was figured (and the fact that I had to dip 23 dipped bears which I despise beyond measure) I wished I had never done it..lol.
  14. I have always bagged them in the past but I won't be doing that any longer. I have always double and triple checked my orders before delivery and inevitably, I am told there are candles missing. I think folks are trolling for free candles. From now on I will be boxing them by scent and making sure they are counted before I leave them so we agree that they are all there. It will prevent people from coming back to me and saying there are missing candles.
  15. Did someone get banned as a result of this thread?
  16. You can also try Avery Design Pro..it is a free download and it works great.
  17. Nina - It depends on what kind of candles you want to make. You need to decide that first. When I started my candle making adventure I wanted to make votive candles and I wanted them to be really smelly. My research led me to soy wax and that is where I started, with a soy wax votive blend. So decide what kind of candles you want to make first and go from there. T.
  18. Quoted from Michi: I'm sorry if you felt my post was "nasty" or "flaming" I just spoke my mind about my observations, it was not my intention to be that way, you must be reading my words differently than the way they were intended to be read I am sure you think you are quite clever. You are not.
  19. Lye works wonders on wax build up in the drain. Much better than baking soda and vinegar.
  20. I only wish I were getting a kick back. That was a pretty nasty thing to say and it was uncalled for. Why do you have to be so nasty? Forget it, I don't need an answer to that one. I have always tried to share good suppliers and good products. Fancy Candle Jars is located very close to me and Ron has been very helpful and willing to negotiate to make my purchases worthwhile. To me, that is good customer service. I will continue to make purchases from Fancy Candle Jars because of excellent customer service, unbeatable prices on the jars and the shipping. Everyone is entitled to their opinions.
  21. Heather - You are right. He could have been more professional but sometimes I think we don't realize how we sound in an email. I am sure his intentions were not to make her feel like an idiot. He just doesn't seem like that kind of person to me. I have bought jars from The Jar Store as well and I think Ron's jars are of comparable quality with better prices. I just hate to see a good supplier slammed because of one poorly thought out email response. I will continue to order from Fancy Candle Jars.
