  1. I had a problem years ago and called the supplier and they said, what do you expect, they are made in China or Japan (can't remember). I stopped using that supplier.

Could of been the same company!! I'm gonna talk to them tomorrow hopefully it's just these jars cause guess where thay are made yup China. I won't stop using them cause I get other items from them but they really need to check the products they sell.

  2. Guess this is a bargain candle for eBay...it costs $179.99 on their website.:shocked2:

Take a look...they have some candles in the $600.00-700.00 range.:shocked2:

If anyone ever complains about your pricing, you can always refer them here.:laugh2:Don't get me wrong, I'm all for making the most you can off your hard work, but this is alittle over the top.:tiptoe:

WOW wish I could charge that for candles:shocked2:

  3. :sad2:So I order cases of the jars I want to use for gel candles for a wholesale acct. I LOVE this jars & they are not easy to find. SOOOOO case #1 comes & the minute I open the door(driver has left, fast) I can tell that they are going to be broken:sad2: Ok so I call supplier they give me credit for broken ones but there is still another case of them floating around somewhere. It finally shows up today(box looked good on outside) & yep broken jars again. But I was looking at the jars outside in the sun & noticed that everyone has some kind of defect on it:cry2: so I guess I will have to go thru the first case & inspect those too. Out of this 2nd case of 36 only three would pass my standards to be used & sold. I am so bummed right now. I guess I;ll mention to the supplier that maybe they need to inspect some of the items they are selling!

    OK done with my rant!!!!:laugh2:

  4. Well...it's not just insufficient testing by people using gel(shaking head):angry2: Saw an auction on eBay last night for a soy jar candle with real pinecone embeds!!!! And on the very top, there were 3 pinecones pressed tightly up against the wick! Pinecones are used for firestarters!!!

OMG Yeah that definately will be a fire starter:mad: Don't you just want to send a message to them telling them what idiots they are. I feel real bad for anyone who buys & lights that candle.:sad2:

  5. No dispute...just giving my test results. There isn't much I haven't tested.

Your test results are great. Too bad more people didn't do that much testing. I have boxes of test candles that didn't turn out how I wanted them to!!!

  6. LOL a little debate going on huh!!! I will not be using any clay in my gels cause I don't really want to do an insert one. I do believe that the clay will catch fire just like sand does when a flame comes into contact with it.

Hey what about plastic:rolleyes2 I saw some at my last show & I am 99.9% sure that the items she had in the gels were plastic & not with the insert either. this is someone who has been around a while too:sad2: i was shocked when i saw that.

  7. If it is not compatible it will not mix in the wax well. Then you have pockets of fragrance oil.

Or it may be incompatible due to the flash point of the fragrance oil is too low. Gel has a high melt point, so to reach that point the lower flashpoint fo will...well..."flash". I'm not really good at explaining this I see.

    Trudi

:laugh2:You explained it pretty good!! Thanks

  8. :laugh2:It does work!!! Guess they changed the name just goes to show that you really shouldn't do much of anything when you are exhausted!!!

Oh what happens when you burn a gel that the fragrance isn't compatible with it? I know it looks like crap but what happens when burned??

  9. Hi Has anyone every tried making fimo clay items & using them in gel candles? i was thinking about trying some but didn't know how they would do. I've been searching all morning for nice glass embeds but can't seem to find ones I like(I'm very picky)!!!
